Smoke - From the perspective of someone who has never been on a super bike before, nor done a track day. My first impression sitting on the 1125r is that it doesn't fit me as well as the Uly does. It fits well enough though, and I can work the foot controls w/o having to hunt for them. We pull out of pit row and the first thing I do is check the two selling points of the transmission. Clutchless upshifts work perfectly. No clunking or anything else. The bike just ends up in another gear. Then I downshifted 2 gears and dumped the clutch. The slipper works, it handles that just fine. The stability of the bike is confidence inspiring. You can lean it way over and it feels just fine. The brakes are excellent, and they do not upset the bike. I don't trail brake much, so I didn't test them extensively in the corners, but they will haul the speed down rapidly and it doesn't feel like you've wadded up the suspension. The engine is fantastic. It's exactly as advertised. It doesn't matter what the RPM are, it has power, it is smooth, and there are no surprises. It doesn't really matter what gear you are in, just pick one. It will work fine. That was nice because I was learning a lot of other stuff and not having to pay too much attention to shifting helped that. I did find that the bars get buzzy if you're running at higher rpm. That gets uncomfortable quickly. The bike sounds unbelievably fantastic. There were several IL4s runnings and the difference in sound was dramatic. The Helicon is at least an octave lower than the IL4s. We all know what this means: The Helicon has Balls. |

Damn, I'm going to have to stop reading about the 1125R. I talked myself out of buying one, and I think I'm going to have a really hard time sticking by that choice. |

I bought a Uly and now I am trying to figure out how to pay it off so I can get a 1125R. But I will have to pay cash cuz there is no way I can afford the ins. |

I was trying to post the pictures of Brian's bike but the files are to large. Where do I get the program to shrink them? |

I bought a Uly and now I am trying to figure out how to pay it off so I can get a 1125R. FWIW, as much as I enjoyed the 1125r on the track, the experience convinced me that the Uly is the right choice for my every day riding. |

Ouch! That looks brutal! Hope you heal fast Brian! That does not look like it was good at all no matter what speed. If you decide to save it let me know and I can get a list of parts together. Smokescreen |

J' Good seeing ya out there. Had a blast riding and hanging out with some of the BadWeb folks. I really liked everything about the 1125R except the front fairing/air induction scoops. Wish it was one piece but if the bike ever ends up on its side depending on how hard it hits you could just replace the scoops which is a lot cheaper than a one piece fairing. It looks a bit big as well, like the RR fairing. Looks to big for the bike but the air drag was very little. I didn't get beat up riding in high speeds which is what the design was intended for. I heard different top MPH speeds on the straight away. Think I heard 160 from one guy "former AMA racer" Heard other talk but won't go there. I'd like to get the 1125R at Road Atlanta for a few laps. I decided to take the tape off that was over the speedo "all the bikes had tape over the speedo" and I hit 138MPH. The motor had more to give I just ran out of track or better yet rider. LOL!!! It was fun, I'd like to have a 1125R of my own and give it everything I have. We had a hand full of people that went down and was told even a couple of instructors had went down at past Inside Pass events too. It happens to the best of us but I was reminded it better not happen to me. My job wasn't to go out there WTFO and show people what I can do or think I can do. LOL!! A couple riders did and might not be back at Inside Pass/PTT events. I went off once on in T4 on the Duc on my second lap around on a new track, I misjudged T4 and just told PTT I thought I'd get it out of my system. LOL!!! The bike was smooth through all the Rev's the first couple of times I thought I was in the high rev's like 10,000 or so. I looked down and was just hitting 8,500 so I just throttled down and it kept pulling..and pulling. It was great! It pulls like a beast.... My favorite spots of power were between about 6,500 to 9,500. My favorite moment was in T7 which is a right hander going up hill. I got were I could spin the tire. The first time I about sh_t in my leathers. I'm not the king of slide. LOL!!! I had a great time coaching/instructing and ran mostly Intermediate and some Novice. Had to bring my speed down a notch. Had 2 guys that went off the track trying to keep up with me twice but both times they saved it. Another guy went down, Glad he wasn't hurt. I was reminded that it was my job to help control the riders and keep them safe as possible. My favorite thing was just helping some riders get their "track on" and seeing them get to the next level of riding. A few BadWebers were really fast...I was impressed. VERY.... With all that said the 1125R was one SWEET ride. Nothing bad can be said about that motor. It's a power plant...and handled like it was on rails. I'll post some pics later...I'm running on about 3 1/2hrs of sleep. Sorry no video... The video cam I was going to barrow fell through. I'll get some video at the next event which is at Pocono. I just ordered two ATC 2K camcorders, one for the front and the back. |

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? |

I have found that STUPID people ask irrelevant questions.... Or make ridiculous statements, For example (employee telling manager why he no call no showed Monday, Tues, and Wed./true story, came from is mouth yesterday) I could not call to tell you I went to mexico because it was early sunday morning and nobody would have answered the phone. Now, he has the shop phone #, The Owners Home #, Cell #, The Managers Home and cell #'s and My cell #. And this TARD still has a job. Good stuff...... So thanks Shred for stopping in and taking me to motorcycle land for a while, I REALLY NEEDED IT after all the STUPIDITY I had to endure yesterday!! Lightindave, good to see ya and the fam. last night, that new crome kickstand looks sweet! I crashed in the mud taking a shortcut home yesterday! Just like old times on the dirtbike. So, very low tread on Diablo on front, Pilot Race on back, wet GA clay in a new const. neighborhood === Down we go. I lost the front end and ate it. Just like the old days I saved myself and watched the bike tumble down. I will say the saddle bags give you a great place to lift the bike from and it was easy even in the slippery mud. I have some pics and will post tonight when I get home. |

The right side is covered in mud!!, the handgaurd popped out so it offers NO crash protection but helps out in the rain. |

Dude, the handguards are to look cool and keep the cold and bugs off your digits. They work moderately well against car mirrors too. Also a good place to put stickers. Now, the KLR handguards...Only good for small bugs. I'll be looking for cool dirtbike handguards in a little while. |

Hugh how about this for stupid comments and stupid answers. When I took the bike back to service just 1 and half weeks after getting it back from having the engine rebuilt because of brake and engine noises and problems. The brakes are one story but the engine get ready for this………..I was told The engine preformed poorly (post rebuild)because it had no oil in it and that is why it made sounds…….. When I replied wow must have been a bad leak…… they where like no leak…we fould no sighns of a leak….. so when I replied wow it must be bad to burn up all that oil they said no it didn’t burn up the oil ………… so I said then they must not have put any oil in after rebuilding the engine and test riding it they said that couldn’t have happened. So I hid my siphoning hose and told them that I must have drained the oil my self in an effort to fu#k with them to which I got no reply. Hummm I love it my gets larger on a daily basis that’s ok though it just makes it easier to poop. |
