Thanks Hugh, That is a neat gift. Did they find that locally? If I had one of those I could retire my "Ole Swiss Army Knife". It has come in handy more than once..........Charlie |

No, they had to order it. It's a "Byrdwrench" by Spiderco. You can find it at several internet dealers. I forgot and brought my Swiss Army knife to the airport a couple of months ago and didn't discover it until I was in line for security- didn't have time to go back out to the car and leave it, so into the trash it went. I started looking for a replacement back then, and found the Byrdwrench on-line, but they were having trouble producing them and none were available. Of course, I went ahead and bought a Buck multi-tool then that's pretty cool, so now I have two cool multi-tool/knives. Oh yea, I replaced the rear tire on the Uly today. Got a Craftsman motorcycle jack last week, built a muffler cradle out of 2x4's yesterday, pulled the wheel and changed the tire. Pulling the wheel on the XB12X was easy (easier than my tuber), but that dang tire fought me tooth and nail (MUCH harder than my tuber). I've changed ~7 motorcycle tires using tire irons, but this one just about whipped me. I'm either going to invest in a tire machine or go to a dealer next time. Anyway, the Uly is back on the road! |

Charlie, Thanks for the tip. I've been meaning to go down there and check them out but haven't had the chance. LaFayette recommended them for the tire but they didn't have the Pirelli Scorpions, at least not on-line. There's an indy shop close to me in Summerville; I need to check them out too. |

Hello, everyone. I'm new here--to the forum, not the state. I live in Ridgeway (near Columbia) and I bought a 2001 X1 about two months ago. I've only seen a Buell on the road twice, but once I saw a kid in Blythewood wearing a Buell T-shirt. I'm glad to know there must be at least ten others out there. I'll be lurking.... |

Hey Charlie, Happy 4th to everyone too. I've been up at Fontana Village, NC (near Deal's Gap) since last Friday. The weather's great and I've been getting in a lot of good riding. I've seen a few other Buells, including at least 3 or 4 Ulys. |

Paul, Seeing your post just reminded me, Handyindustries.com............Their universal stands go for under a bill for both. On the front stand you can either cut out a section and reweld for right length or as I did,cut a piece out and slide a pipe inside and bolt it at the length you want.Plus that red would look great with your Firebolt.........Charlie |

Hey, all. I'm looking to get my newly purchased Pirelli Diablo Stradas spooned onto my 2002 M2, but can't seem to find a local shop willing to touch a Buell (What?? We don't work on them, lady.) Anybody know of a place near Florence that might help me out? |

Samlyles: Best price, on the rim and out the door, CHECK www.cyclegear.com ... Do the ZIP CODE thing to find the closest to you ... Only catch is you have to take them the wheels ... Tell them to be very carefull of the front rotor as it is easily bent ... Belive there is a CYCLE GEAR Store across the street from Charleston H-D ... E-MAIL me so "i' can get your e-mail address and you will be put on the South Carolina BUELL Riders E-MAIL LIST and you will get a copy ... Ljenne73c@verizon.net In BUELLing LaFayette |

Matt, Saw you looking at the tac. kit in the classifieds, those things are a piece of cake to install. Did mine several years ago,the wiring is simple. You can hard wire it(no pins). The only thing I found that needed a little massaging is the clutch cable angle........Charlie |

hey everyone, just another announcement about the dealer where I purchased my motorcycle from... September 29th & 30th they are having an open house event to welcome in the 2008 motorcycles and they are having a stunt group perform "ill conduct" does anybody know or seen of this group? What I could find is that they are based out of GA and primarily ride Buells and Harleys and do the usual stunt stuff juvenile delinquents do. anyway I don't know if I'll be there, all depends if I have my grand child with me or not. |

Hi, I was invited to post at this site by Hughlysses, thanks. The biggest challenge I have faced to date with my '06 Uly is to enter Hardscrabble road, in NW Columbia SC, from the apartment complex. It is a bad scene. SC could use better traffic management in general (traffic lights)- my observation. My username may seem odd, but it is common to a renewable fuel and a diesel engine website, so, easy for me to remember. Right now I am just enjoying the experience of using the Uly, both for commuting and for Sunday rides to Charlotte by backroad, etc...my first post was the 'Uly - Tail of the Dragon'. |
