Where we gonna stay for Buelltober Fest? Braveangel said it will be Hayden's first adventure and I would love to bring Baby too. Any possibility of a 3%er Daycare Center? |

No muffler for sale??? Haven't you heard? The Buell Race Kit Mufflers are like gold. They're selling for unreal prices on e-bay. Go figure, the muffler that wouldn't sell (people called it a fetal pig) is going for twice the original price, now that they're not being produced any longer. Charlie put it on his Uly. |

Paint, The stocker I frankensteined with some horrible welding and like Glitch said, I put the race can on the Uly. Stealth, somehow I think we wont have any trouble getting some cute little ones looked after long enough for a ride! Sam and I are only gonna head up for the day on sat. Camping will be a little much for the lady and baby and we dont want to disturb anyone in a cabin with the cranky one screaming at 2 a.m. |

Trip day 1: done! I rode about 150 miles this afternoon and stopped in Bryson City, NC. I shot to leave about 2:00 PM this afternoon, but SMHD got my Uly air deflector kit in, and I decided I needed new boots at Cycle Gear. Naturally, they're on opposite sides of Atlanta, so I didn't make it out until 5:00. Fortunately it's Labor Day weekend, so rush hour started at 1:00, and traffic wasn't too bad at all by the time I got out. Ready for war!
I took 400 to 60 to 19 to 129. I noticed a strange head wobble in right hand turns with all the cargo loaded up. I dialed up the rear preload and the front rebound damping a bit, and that fixed it up. The old gal felt pretty solid even loaded down with a billion pounds of cargo. I picked up some Alpinestars S-MX Plus boots before I left. I have to say, I'm impressed with them.
The soles are thick, and they're very stiff. They isolate my feet from vibrations, and they're articulated so my ankle won't hyper extend. It's nice because I can put my toes on the pegs and completely relax my legs, and the boots hold my feet in a comfortable position. I almost held out for the perforated version, but I'm glad I didn't now. The vents on the sides of the boots work just like they're supposed to. Unlike helmet vents, the effect is actually noticeable. My only complaints so far are that I can't feel the controls as well as my old boots, and the plastic on the inside of the ankle scuffs my primary. Tomorrow I'm heading up through Cherokee to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I'm riding it as far east as it goes on my way to Winston-Salem. |

Day two: Blue Ridge Parkway I rode 180 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway Saturday, and it was awesome. The views were amazing. The drop offs were so much higher than anything we have. The road condition was better than 60, but not quite as good as 129. It was all two lanes with grass shoulders, and the speed limit was 45. The parkway didn't go through any towns, so there were no red lights and very few speed zones. I had to exit off for food and gas. It looked very park-like because the shoulders were all immaculately all mowed. There was very little traffic, which was great. Most everyone on the parkway was a mountain n00b, so passing etiquette was spotty. There were dozens of scenic overlooks for cars to pull over on, though, so I didn't spend too much time stuck behind them. I was surprised at the lack of sport bikes. I think I saw two the whole trip. There was no one really speeding, and I didn't witness a single act of hooliganism. Only one bike passed me. |

Day three: Hanging out with my mountain kinfolk Holy crap, I love this place. I spent Sunday hanging out with my cousin out here in the country. Toys in his garage: 50, 80, and 100 cc dirt bikes, Honda Pilot dune buggy, 4 wheeler. And he has a small dirt track in his front yard.
After playing with the dirt bikes for a while, we loaded up his son's 80 and headed out to a friend's house who has a huge dirt track and two "field cars." Oh my god, I didn't know adults were allowed to have this much fun. A 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis with a 5.0 liter V8 and open headers is a beautiful thing.
Yes, that's a 12 year old behind the wheel.

back from road atlanta. met up with ratyson and medved while there. got a lot of interest in the s1 by passers-by while i was camped at the entrance to vendor village. talked to Walt Sipp after seeing his number during practice and qualifying with no xbrr on the track. bike was broke and he didn't qualify for the show. he's hoping for better luck at Laguna. supersport was the most exciting race. buell stunt team was pretty good on their xb's! thanks for the motor Matt. sorry that i missed everybody else. see y'all. tim |

Sanchez, looks like you like the mountain folk. Yep, that's how I was brought up, I leanrt to drive a stick when I was 9, it was an old Toyota Land Cruiser. Them were the days! Had a Honda Mini Trail then too. Didn't have no dirt track, but the Fire Breaks, and the old Stage Coach trails were just as good. Kdan, welcome back to live in Parenthood! Got a gun right? BS, brining her up right I see! Sunday ride was great. Good riding with Fran-dog, Smokescreen, and HB. That needs to become a habit. Hopefully Shred, and New12r can make it next time. Y'all were missed. New12r, and Brave-Angel, it was great seeing y'all, and Hayden. |

Ha, Shiny, yep that's Ashley. She's a senior and trying to go to SCAD or Georgia State. Chihuahua Stud, I don't think we'll do much short cutting through dirt parking lots or lane splitting at 90mph. But I'm willing to try! |

This morning's ride was fun! We made several passes on Temple Johnson but unfortunately the cages slowed us down. We went on to tour the roads of north Rockdale and then Henry County. Good to see Deadduck and Fran with his Special Ops pipe, (damn it, wish mine would show up). Our newbie rider on the Sv 650, Seth did real well hauling the gf around all day, and he even managed not to scare the poo out of Deadduck! Hopefully we can make Sunday morning rides a regular event when we don't hit the mountains. |
