Hey guys, the new tires are on the bike and service is done. Just need to get my axle sliders on. I am trying to get my dads Ridgeline for the trip which is now pulling there RV in Canada. Glad to hear you are going along Mike! If nothing else maybe we could have a foot race around the track /; Take it easy on that wrist so we can do some snow kiting this winter! |

you need to get a set of skateboard wheels, 4 total... j, you might even be able to find yellow ones!!! (but there going to fade) then you need to get two steel rods that are threaded on either side, need to be just slightly longer then your axles(enough to have skatebaord wheels on and bolted, probably sticking half inch longer on either side of your axle)..... your rear axle is wider then your front so measure before ya buy, get some solid bushings, the ones i got were the white ones that you can slide the rod through, try to get them as thick as possible... i think the ones i got were about half an inch thick... they are going to be different diameters for your front left and right and your rear left and right... so measure your axle tube openings on both sides... (i cant remember what size they are) your going to need some washers and nuts too.... putting them on is pretty simple... take one of the skateboard wheels and attach the rod through it with a washer and nut, then slide a bushing on the inside of the wheel, then slide the rod through the axle openings. the bushing should slide inside the axle. then you can put the bushing in on the other side put the wheel on washer and then nut... kinda gives you an idea of whats going on... as far as help for putting them on... i will be out of town this weekend... maybe mike is available??? if not i can help some time after work next week |

Just a thought on the axle sliders. How about using a rubber stopper approx. 1.5" long inside the axle then a small nut & bolt set up that would tighten down the slider wheels the same way bar end mirrors do. Bolt could be a 3/16x 2" stainless allen head. should be light & strong??? |

i dont think it matters to much as to how you really attach them... as long as they dont have room to move inside the tube, hence the bushings, looking at mikes ... the one that was made of a softer bushing moved quite a bit and bent the bar, no damage to the fork, but will have to have a whole new set up, the rear stayed in place and just ground away the wheel... i would just keep that in mind... |

I think you are going to want it as rigid as you can. The advantage of a rod all the way through is each side works against the other, keeping it all tight. Looking at the aftermath of mine, they would have completely ripped out if they weren't connected to the other side. There is quite a bit of shearing force involved when the bike is sliding. |

Ok so good news....i have a suit.bad news....it fits perfectly on the top half but the bottom feels huge in the legs. I realize that when in riding position its a whole different story and it does seem to fit a little better when on the bike. Anyway.....mike or sam im just curious if either of you have the same issue with your suits..they are both different brands so i just thought id ask to see if it was a common issue with 1 peice suits in general. |

Where is a good place to pick up the wheels at? when it comes to that stuff I am lost, guess I am just too old for the kids stuff (like wheelies at 80 for example), I am up for Lowes, just after 5:00 on Tues. |

You don't need the bearings. I'll try to make it there to show you guys what you'll need. |
