Whats Going on Mike, Sam? Crack cleaning? I have been on call & working out of town. Put the Uly down for service & pulled the wheels for tires. I am still looking for a tow vehicle that can seat 4. Fill me in. |

well, i was going to wait for mike to post up, mike hit a little sand yesterday on bogus and ended up highsiding. bike flipped, mike caught about 6 to 7 feet of air, supermaned through the air, landed and skidded for about thirty, ended up relaxing in a sand pit.... i guess if hes going to crash... he goes big.... mikes ok, except for a few bumps and bruises, (thanks to a full riding suit)... he did fracture a few bones in his wrist though. he hasnt called me today yet... but he is supposed to go in for surgery to get some pins tomorrow. most likely he will have a cast for ten weeks, since he broke that little bone too... he should be at a consult right about now... so hopefully there is better news that he can tell us when he gets home |

I will be going in for the surgical consult at 3:30. I'll let you all know what's going on when I get home. So, no riding the 1125R for me. Sorry to let you guys down on the trip, let me know if I can be of any help with anything. |

way off topic here sort of.......but if i cant manage to get a vanson suit at the inside pass event im curious if the Buell textile riding pants is enough for them to let me ride. or do i just need to bite the bullet again and just get me a decent suit? |

it would be a good idea to get a suit, but it is not a must... the riding pants will most likely be fine.... they let people out with jeans on the last one... you will probably be able to use one of their suits... just ask early!!! real riding boots would be a really good idea.... |

lol....i have some boots on the way.....i just said screw it and bit the bullet for another $460 on a one piece. Credit cards are a dangerous beast.........but the suits cheap life insurance. P.S. Thanks alot Sandman (Mike) for crashing..you just freaked me out into buying a new suit. Pretty sure its knee pucks still wont ever hit the ground in a voluntary manner though. Hope you have a speedy recovery. (Message edited by lazyj on August 06, 2007) (Message edited by lazyj on August 06, 2007) |

The bike isn't too bad. I'll need new brake levers, right peg, grip, mirror, maybe new bars to get it road worthy. The headers and rear wheel are hammered but plenty useable. The homemade axle sliders worked incredibly well, they saved my swingarm and forks from even getting a scratch, though they are toast. I am doing ok. My left wrist is pretty well shattered, as well as the end of my radius. I'll be going into surgery sometime this week to get some pins, clips, screws, and a plate. So then I'll become the Bionic Sandman. Other than that I have a few bumps and bruises, but not a single scratch. So, obviously gear does it's job, and that's why I always wear it. Please do the same. It might save your life, or at least a bunch of pain and money. Jeremy, it's good to hear that you're getting decked out. It's an investment you won't be sorry making. Hopefully you won't ever need it. Everyone, ride safe, and drag some knee for me. I can't wait to get back out there with you, too bad it'll probably be next year. |

Well, it appears that I am not important enough to get fixed until Friday. I'll be going in at 7:30am for surgery. It's going to take at least three hours, yeah! |

yeah mike still go to miller....im going to need more than one private teacher to get all that riding information crammed into my stubborn ass skull.....i have a hard time listening to what it is i am suppose to do until someone knocks me upside the head......or runs me off the track for that matter..... thanks for the input Sam, just changed my order to be a half size larger...cant have crampped toes or i'd be even bitchier than normal. My running tab on gear purchases alone the last month....$1159 yikes....could be worse i guess. sht how long are they going to make you wait mike.......by friday they will just have to break the dang thing again..... Hey Mike, Sorry to hear about the wreck. I have been there so I know how it goes. Seeing the mangled mess in the garage is enough to make a guy sick, let alone the injuries and time spent recuperating. I completely agree with you, GEAR IS IMPORTANT! I know that I would be dead without it. If you need help getting your bike back together give me a shout. I imagine its going to be tough to turn wrenches with a banged up wrist like that. |

I think going to Miller would still be a blast, we'll have to see how the next week or so goes. J, I think we are going for maximum pain in minimal space. On the cost of gear it sucks, but it sure is cheaper than road rash. Too bad it doesn't help with the cost of titanium. Tony, thanks for the offer. The bike looks remarkably well, I could have it on the road in less than ten minutes, and fifty bucks. |

Nice, glad to hear it! Lucky! Sounded like you might have to change out the header pipe which would be near impossible with one hand. |

You're right about that Tony. For now I'll just wrap the header again. I just got off the phone with Leon, the owner of Private Track Time, he said that getting a refund won't be a problem. He also mentioned that I am more than welcome as part of the pit crew. So, if you guys can make room for a little sand, I'd love to tag along. |

She said "yeah a little bit", but really, we were talking about it in the ER and she couldn't be more supportive. I'm a super lucky guy. Look at it this way, now you guys have a cameraman, though not a very good one. I can shoot video of all of you on the track. |

hey mike, do i have to register in the "owners" section in order to ride the new buell on the track that day.....i just want to make sure i have a chance to ride one since id rather not take my own bike on the track... also wondering how anal they are about tire requirements.....i have about 2500 miles on my tires and i dont have a clue as to how much they will want ....80% is kind of broad and i sure as hell cant afford new tires right now...so any input would be great cuz i will be freakn out soon if i have to come up with more cash 4 this trip....new gear is sort of killing my pocket book right now. You dont have to reg, your good how ya are now! as far as tires go, i cant remember the way your tires look, but as long as they look like they have good tread on them you will be fine |

Yea, no worries mike and i were both a little uneasy about what to expect last time... no need to stress... sounds like you set yourself up with some good gear and your good to go.... what kind of suit did you get by the way? all we really need to figure out between the four of us(five if your miss' is going to go) is how were gettin bikes down and stuff like that... |

just a thought, if were only takin three bikes, i bet we could fit them all in the back of a truck, two forward facing and one back... so if we have to... we can rent a truck again |

Yeah, like Sam said you'll be fine. For the demos you just need a valid MC endorsement, and proper gear. There should be 18-20 1125Rs at the track, so riding one won't be a problem, unless you're me of course. If you're worried about tires you could use my wheels and tires for the trackday, but you should be just fine. Feel free to give me a call anytime if you have other questions cause it takes me forever to type. 230-5387 |

Oh and Sam, no more high sides please, you'd make me think that I'm bad luck. Besides, I'm guessing you were close enough to mine to see they're not much fun. |
