I just bid a Gap/Gap Kids/Gap Body and Baby Gap in Alpharetta. A journey may be in order. I think the Gap should add another concept..... like Deals Gap Riding Gear.... |

Wraith, very cool work! I like the "Stills" (?) the best. Especially the B&W. What do you need to know... pretty basic stuff, learning the right f-stop, appatures, speed & such to get the affect I am looking for. I need to just get out and practice (thank God for the day of digital!) and make notes on my settings so I will know which ones worked. B&Ws are my passion. I suck at "People" but Kdan's daughter seems to have the eye for that. She wants to go the the Savannah Art Institute (?) for Journalism and minor in Photography. It would be wayyyy cool to see one of her shots on the cover of "LIFE" one day! He also has a friend that is FANTASTIC at "Homo sapiens". http://www.flickr.com/photos/fubuki/ |

bambi- the best way to get the effects you want is by using the zone system, i'll see if i can dig out my books and do a quick wright up on it. it's second nature to me now, that i dont even know how to really explain it. |

I never really found a use for the Basic Zones. I wish I could remap them into different Creative Zone settings. E.g. have 3 different shutter priority settings at different speeds that I could easily flip through. I shoot everything in RAW using either shutter priority (Tv on the dial) to kick it down for panning shots or aperture priority (Av on the dial) to get the most narrow depth of field I can and raise the shutter speed. Most of my Av shots came out around 1/800-1/1000, which is really too fast for motorsports. It freezes the action too much. I think next time I'll try some Tv shots around 1/500, which should give me a good balance between sharpness and sense of motion. Now I just need to save up enough money for the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS, and I should be able to pick off shots from a distance when I can't get on-track access. |

LOL, Xbullet, me TOO! Sanchez, My "Most Excellent" got me a Cannon 500mm f8 with a 2X multiplier for Christmas! It's just not auto focus! And see, I LIKE the Freeze Frame shots with the seriously blurred backgrounds (layman's terms) like the first shot you posted from the track day. |

Thanks Wraith! Never heard of that and don't remember seeing anything like that in the manual but a buddy of Kdan's gave him a whole set of books on the subject for Ashley and I to use so I will see what they have on it. Gives me a starting point. My biggest problem is my reading comprehension SUCKS! I've a visual person. |

Rat-man, we just got to get you guys to the "A" town! I have a bit of a lead on something that is happening with F.A.T.S. at the end of the year... there could be an employment opportunity for me by then. That would be in Suwanee... Keeping our fingers crossed. But we also need to be done with the adoption process before we can move as well.} |

bambi- just threw up some new pictures, the black and whites are shot using strict zone system, notice the tonality of the grays, they go from pitch black (zone I to zone x) pure white, and everything in between. http://homepage.mac.com/c.heim/PhotoAlbum11.html |

Wraith, those are, shall I say it again, Cool! Especially the Cat on the bed. I didn't get to look at the books today cause we rode up to Ocoee to watch the kayaking. Took the camera to play a little with the apetures. It's going to be interesting to see how they come out. |

Thanks everyone! We spent most of the day in the mountains riding with Minitrucker and Jenny. That 1098 is one sweet bike! The police were out in force which kept the squid mostly in check, and traffic to a minimum, which was nice. There was a rode block just before Wolf Pen, with the police only checking for dead plates (saw on guy with a plate expired since December!) and check to make sure we had the right license class. Thanks to Mrs_G for getting my plate up to date on Thursday! Hung out with the boys after we got home, then I went for a local rip, and visited SS&MB. It was a really nice day, although too damned short. So how does half way to 88 feel?! Better than being all the way to 88 I'd bet! |

In that case, medved1 will be over shortly to receive his spanking. To all you baby havers: Sorry I won't be able to make the shower Saturday night, but I did send you all presents. No peeking in the boxes if they arrive before Saturday! (Message edited by sanchez on June 11, 2007) |

A little boy goes to his father and asks "Daddy, how was I born?" The father answers: "Well son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: . . . . . . . . You've got (fe)male |
