Well if Jim and Harve are in, I am too. Wait a minute. That's what I said last time. No. Probably can't make it. But I'll mark it on my calender just in case. |

Hey folks.. long time no see, here, speak. Posting this local to see if anyone can help me out. I bought another '00 Buell X1(I'm a but it was too cheap and clean to pass). So...... my original '00 X1(the one I raced at Donner and went on rides with you all) is being converted to a dirt tracker. I'll be running it at Castle Rock this season. I need a "Buell Pro-Series Race Air Cleaner Kit". Any one heard from "Shooter". He seems to have gone in hiding. Thanks! Frank |

Word Up My Buellies, Everything is swell in spudsville. The weather is finally becoming spring here, the fruit tress are just now starting to get some buds on them. Need to do a little maintenance on the M2 before it's road worthy. Should of done it this winter, but work and family gets in the way of my fun. The M2 was a bit ignored last year due to another vehicle that had my attention. It has two cylinders, 80 ci displacement, redline's at 9,000 rpm, makes 240 HP and loves to eat up twisties.
It is a wonderful distraction, but I still love my Buell. The workload and family things are starting to ease allowing me some time to perform the long overdue M2 TLC. It should be back in the wind in the next few weeks. Trixie still rides the Blast from time to time, she's just not as passionate about speed as I am. But that's OK, I'll still let her love me. Congrats Shotgun on retiring and becoming a Grandfather. I'm way too young for either one of those. Oh wait a second, babies happen! That's right, I'm Grandpa Spud now. Here's a pic of the granddaughter helping Trixie make a cake.
Yea Loni, I'm always lurking, just not posting too much. I have plenty to say, just not enough time to do it. I really enjoy reading the rants from all the familiar names that I've ridden with. Maybe I'll start adding some spud perspective in the future. Thanks for not forgetting about me. I sure do miss all you idiots. |

Glad to know that you are still alive Spudman. Was thinking maybe Trixie had you locked up in the back shed for the winter! Would not blame her for that. So you are a GRANDPA now. WOW you are getting old! Congratulations, she is a cutie. I bet Grandma loves having her around. Keep in touch and I am hoping that anytime you are in the area you give us a call. Take Care. Loni |

So, why didn't somebody warn me? I was braggin about being retired, a new grandpa, and moved to my retirement heaven. Too much good Karma. I lost the fight for the speeding ticket. So paid $350 for the lawyer plus $182 for the ticket. Probably could have got it down to $182 without the lawyer, but it was worth a try. The inspection on our Portland house for sale turned up some dry rot under the house. Cost us $30000 to fix. Then, when we moved our stuff, we (ok, I) left the spigot open on the refridgerator icemaker. The water was turned off at the meter because there were a bunch of plumbers there hooking up the 2 new bathrooms we replaced. When they left, they turned the water back on at the curb and that old icemaker line flooded the solid oak floor in the kitchen, buckling the boards. The insurance paid for all but $500 of that fiasco, but it put off closing for 2 weeks. Finally yesterday, it closed, we got our money and the insurance came thru. Ok, ready for new good Karma. I still am willing and able to do SPLASHWEEK 2007. You will love the roads down here as much as you loved highway 53 last year. My "oregano" crop is finally budding out. I am building a sweat lodge for my second grandchild's coming. Come to SPLASH 2007, bring your loincloth. We can do a ceremonial first-nation sweat too. Did I mention that we collect rainwater from our house and store it in a 4000 gallon tank? Well, I am adding a greywater system that will also fill the rainwater tank, and moving the controls for my irrigation system to use the combined rainwater/greywater system. Our toilet is a Swedish composter, so the greywater is only shower/laundry/sink water. And, if my logger comes thru, and clears my south hill, we will be adding enought PV Solar to run the place rear-round, maybe with some left over for the neighbors. Way far out dude, ehh? |

Buell dirt track update..... ..... got nine days left to get the Buell X1 ready for opening night at Castle Rock's dirt track races where I'll be celebrating my 51st B'day racing on the 28th. The projects comin along well. Got all the unessecary stuff stripped off. A Maxis dirt track tire and an Avon SM rain tire on the stock 17" wheels. No front brake. Dirt track bars.... etc. You get the picture..... ........so all I'm really missin' is that air cleaner I was lookin for. Runnin' outta time so I go to Latus Harley-Davidson today. Know what I want.... got my Buell accesory catalogue and CASH. Here's the conversation..... Toyracer: I'd like to order this air cleaner kit listed here. Latus: Which model is your bike. Toyracer: Well, it's a '00 X1 but either of the two for '99 or up S3 or M2 can be adapted. Latus: How would I know which one will fit none of them early Buell's are fuell injected. Toyracer: Excuse me..... my bike is Fuell injected.... don't tell me it's not. Latusnow displays a pissy attitude) Toyracer: Sorry man but...... Latus: Ok... well lets check the #'s. What do you want? Toyracerreads off a part #) Latusbsolete! Toyracerreads off the other part #) Latusbsolete! Toyracer: American Sport Bike has a similar product. Can you get that for me? I have cash! Latus: We don't have an account with them. Toyracer(now fed up with Latus) Ohhhh....k... well.... the Buell over there with the number plates on it. I want to order a pair of those. That will solve my other problem at least. Latusafter looking in the Firebolt catalogue and a couple others for good measure) Doesn't it say on that bike somewhere what model it is? Toyracer: Just a sec...... I'll go check(Toyracer goes over to the bike by the front door.... reads the model designation. Recites to himself...."Lightning XB&*$$TT" and then comes to a realization..... doesn't anybody in this F$$kin' shop want to work or make money? He walks out the front door and leaves)! I new better!!! Now I go up the road to Oak Grove Choppers in Millwaukie....... Oak Grove Choppers: Hi Frank! What's goin on? Toyracer: Wanna have some fun? Oak Grove Choppers: What's up? Toyracer: Well this is what we're doin' with the old Buell..... etc. And this is what I need..... etc. Oak Grove Choppers: Let me see if I can find a H-D dealer that has one in stock. If not we'll check out your suggestion of American Sport Bike. ....a few minutes later... Oak Grove Choppers: It will be here in 3 days. Toyracer: You the man! Ya just put that Jack@@s in the parts department at Latus to shame! I now have a sponsorship from Oak Grove Choppers, who will be supplying me with a mechanic and pit man for the upcoming races besides the parts I need on the way. So whow's comin' to check out the Buell dirt tracker April 28th? You're all invited! |

Preface: Galen has a problem with authority figures. No! I hear you gasp. But yes, it is true. Seemingly, particularly with those of a policely nature. OK, here’s the thing; when I see a cop break a rule (law) that he would wright me up for without a second thought, it pisses me off. To the point that I act rather irrationally at times. --deep breath-- So the other day I am on my way home from school, sitting at a red light, when a police cruiser just rolled through a different red about a half a block away. I’m watching him all the way through the intersection thinking, ‘there goes Mr. I’m Above the Law’ So I’m thinking ‘that arrogant bastard’ and decide it is my job to go tell him he just broke ‘the law’. I pull up to him at the next light, on his right, and I start to say; galen-’dude, you just ran that light’ cop-’no I didn’t’ galen-’ look, I just watched you, you rolled through the light on 11th, and you didn’t even hit your brake’ cop-’ you must have me mixed up with someone else’... He really was, well, pissing me off. So I flipped him the bird, took a hard right and thought, ‘what an ass hole’ and figured that would be it. But noooo. I get about half a block before I hear a whoop-whoop behind me and damn if he isn’t after me with his lights a blazin’ and his siren a whalin’. I think, ‘what a dick’, and pull over. Now I admit that I was mad as a hatter by this point, and actually thought about giving him a Buell handling demonstration for a moment before I get off my bike and say, for some reason, ‘why don’t you just shoot me, you f u c k e r’ as I am taking off my helmet. He starts yelling at me to get back on my bike and not move and I’m yelling ‘f u c k you dick head, go ahead and shoot me’ as I’m poking myself in the chest like -right here- and he says, ‘give me an excuse’ as he is pulling a chrome revolver out of his pocket and starts waving it in my face in a, well, somewhat threatening manner. I was watchin’ him pretty close, and he didn’t have his finger on the the trigger, and I keep taunting him to just pull the trigger while he keeps saying ‘give me an excuse’ when my neighbor walks up toward us on the sidewalk. Did I mention that I was on my block now, just a few doors down from my crib? Now this cop was a bit of an anomaly, in that he was not wearing a uniform! Or a badge! Or any other cop-like accouterments. So I also tell the officer that as far as I know he stole that cruiser and he should show me a badge and some ID or maybe I should arrest him, and by the way f u c k you. The cop is just completely power-tripping because he knows I haven’t really done anything, and I’m having a great time saying F u c k you you f u c k i n g f u c k’, to a cop to his face in the line of duty, his or mine, and it was really pretty satisfying. So now Officer Dingleberry starts yelling at my neighbor to get back in his house, and Andrew (neighbor) says he don’t have to that he’s on the public sidewalk and besides I’m his neighbor and he is gona watch whats going on out on the hilltop here. I live in an almost all black neighborhood, and Andrew is a black man, (some dick-head stole his fatboy this past summer) and across the street a couple other brothers are working on a truck, and they start putting down their tools and turning their attention our way. I’m still insulting this cops pedigree to the best of my ability when another cruiser pulled in and out gets, I swear, Barney freaking Fife! Officer Dingle puts his piece put away now and they start talkin’ and pointin’ and then Barney gives Dingle his ticket book ‘cause Dingle DIDN’T HAVE ONE and I say’ what they don’t trust you with your own book’ and he says shut up and I say f u c k you ‘till Dingle just climbs in his car and starts thinking of what he can cite me for and you can tell that all that thinking was giving him a headache... Now this is the kinda ironic part of the story; I know I have a problem with ‘Authority’ figures. In my classes to become a drug counselor, they have told us that WE should be doing counseling, to help us understand our prejudice,s and be better people. Well I decided to start working on this VERY issue. Cops that is. And my first app. with my CO. was the very next day! I had a really great example to give her of my ‘issue’! I have talked to dingle’s Lt. about this bullshit, and she is investigating... shes gona talk to my neighbor and what not. She mentioned Internal Affairs. We shall see what we shall see. sooner, Galen Here is another ironical kinda thing. Back in 1999 I got a felony charge for growing herb. I had a beautiful garden. But anyway, I have been 'good' for the last 7 years, and that made me eligable to get the thing expunged fron my record. Well I was in Superior court today petitioning the court to make me a citizen once more. And they did. On 4:20!!! har har har..... |
