A ride you followed me was a key moment when I transitioned into booring old guy Lafeyette! (just proof, booring old guys can be stupid also) |

No more trying to follow racers on track prepped gsxr 750's with tire sponsorships running race rubber though I was actually a turn or two ahead of you, out of your site, but the "non crash" was pure luck (and maybe something to do with low unsprung weight)... but I count it as a crash. Just a very inexpensive one where I never actually happened to get around to dropping the bike |

hello Kentucky Buellers, I'm Kathy from Baltimore I come down to Lexington for lock school coming down again for 2 weeks in March into April, flying. I ride a XB9SX and an X1. I want to rent a bike and explore a little for the weekend between school. Last December I was down there and actually saw a Buell rider with the mohawk on his helmet, on Man'O War. Last trip I went into Indiana by car which was really boring. Any suggestions on where to go for good long rides? Or were do you guys hang out at? |

There was a nice back road from Lexington towards Cincinnati, and lots of gnarly and impossibly hilly roads to the east of I-75. All paved, but narrow and pavement quality varies. I'll have to dig up some old routes and get names. In the summer, Rabbit Hash is a fun experience. Once you hit southern Cincinnati, anywhere along the little miami river is generally very nice. |

Hi Bill, Thanks for the info I was thinking which way to head north or south when I get back there I was thinking of going south east. I know if I do get a rental bike it won't be a Buell I've never seen a Buell rental before. Going towards Cincinnati sounds cool too. Kentucky is a big state! What's Rabbit Hash, is it something I could come back for as a vacation to join other Buell riders on the twistys? |

Rabbit Hash is... odd. It's basically a general store in the middle of nowhere (right across the river from Rising Sun Indiana) that has... well... nothing really going for it. Besides, that is, a whole bunch of motorcycles hanging out there. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=rabbit+has h+kentucky&ie=UTF8&z=12&ll=38.951933,-84.847069&sp n=0.112404,0.341949&om=1&iwloc=addr Wow! Google has very high resolution pictures of that area now... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ie=UTF8&om=1 &z=19&ll=38.941929,-84.84632&spn=0.000878,0.001792 &t=h Picture that but full of motorcycles The roads around it are nice, some nice country meandering secondary highways. The "east of I-75" roads I was talking about are around here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ie=UTF8&om=1 &z=10&ll=38.45789,-83.989105&spn=0.45273,1.367798 Tons of elevation changes, hilly with blind turns and gravelly roads. Fun if you aren't trying to prove anything and enjoy the beautiful views, no fun if you want to drag a knee around corners. Lots of "How on earth did they manage to pave that" roads. For vacation, I would head the other way and go to Deals Gap / Cherohola Highway. |

Cool I'll have to go there when I come back down. Thank you very much Bill. I hope man O' War has rentals when I get down there or I'll have to go to Eagle Rider and see if I can get a bike from them for the weekend. I won't be ripping the roads up on a big cruiser. I was at Deals Gap last July what a beautiful place that is rode my XB on it. There are a lot of Buellers going down to Ga for March Badness at the end of March. I know they plan on visiting Deals Gap too |

If you need anything while you are this direction feel free to give us a shout. I am in the Riders Assistance Network list, and my wife is home most of the day chasing four kids, so we should be easy to reach if you need to buff anything off a rental |

Thanks the weekend I'm free from school is May 5th and 6th. It would be cool to hook up with some Buell riders and go for a ride. Buff off any thing from the rental?.... like the movie HOG WILD with John Travolta? I can hardly wait to see that one! K |

Hello, I have had no luck in renting a Harley from the Harley dealers so far. I've inquired at Pikeville HD but they are 141 miles away and will not deliver to Lexington. I hear Man O' War is setting up a rental program but they haven't got back to me yet. And Eagle rider USA rents in Tennesee closest rental If I get a Harley or Buell I'll let you all know. I would love to ride with you guys down there! K |

Hey guys, I am in Frankfort and would be glad to hook up with anyone who wants to ride in central KY. I have a pretty good knowledge of the back roads and points of interest. There aren't many Buells in the immediate vicinity. I have ridden with Buellistic when he comes up this way. Drop me an email at jimidan@bellsouth.net. jimidan |

The Bluegrass Harley in Louisville changed owners or management so the rentals went away I'm still waiting to hear from Man'O War HD nobody has responded back to me. Now I'm starting to think screw it and just ride down on my Buell and maybe save the plane tickets for the Buell Home coming. How is the weather down there for the 2 weeks I'll be in town form April 30 to May 11? I know I'm about 8 hours away from you all I can do that in a weekend. |

It's a shame it's so hard to rent bikes... I understand the problems, but it's too bad we can't easily rent a bike when we travel. |

Finally, some "local" Buellers. I have been on the bad web some time but have never been on the Storm Front. I live in Mt. Sterling (35 miles east of Lex. on I-64)and ride with m-and-m-riders.org check them out, especially if you want to ride anything east of I-75. Jimidan I'm in Frankfort sometimes, my brother just bought his first bike so hopefully I'll be there more to ride, we'll need to get together and ride. I used to work at Jimmy Beam, love the ride down to the Old Crow plant by the river. Anyway, good luck with the rentals, I thought Lexington HD would change after it changed hands, but only the building has changed for the better. Soooo let's get together and carve some corners sometime. Michael |

I just noticed Man O ‘War Harley-Davidson Lexington Kentucky is having open house Saturday, April 14th from 12 noon – 4pm. The www.psychobuells.com stunt team is supposed to be there the 14th and 15th. For those of us close to Lexington I thought it might be a good event to meat up and say hi. I am planning on going and even riding up if weather permits. Weather might be a long shot, they are calling for high 66 and 30% chance of rain but that’s a week away. I always wanted to see a stunt team. What do you think? If anyone has more info pleas post. |
