Well, it got up to over 70 degrees today. I finally fired up the Firebolt after doing all the upgrades and took her for a spin. Watch out for the sand at stop signs and intersections! Felt good to get back in the saddle. |

Does it feel substantially faster than your cityx? And what are your opinions on the handling with the new position? We need to get a ride together soon! |

Chase, Yeah, for some reason this bike feels substantially faster then the City X. I have ridden a 12R before (demo day 2 years ago) and I don't remember it being this strong. Then again, at the demo day I really couldn't "get on it" too much. Plus the demo did not have the Race Kit on it either. I can't wait till Hallett track days! |

Drake, It thought this mite come in handy for your XBR headlights. I removed my low beam spoon for an evening an put it back on. Two high beams (no good). I installed a HID low beam kit from www.arostitch.com pt#4681 H3 kit. You can see and bee seen 10X better, I used this for reference www.ifmracing.com/modules.php?name=forums&file=vie wtopic&=148 You can Krylon crome the housing, for the reflection issue. Or for the best solution would be what XB9 did www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/4155 6.html Brian |

Thanks for the links Brian. The HID kit looks like the ultimate fix for the problem. I'll check it out, but the price might make me think it over... |

So apparently powder-coating the motor shifter arm gloss black heated it to a point of fatigue. Riding home from work Saturday the arm completely snapped off where the shifter rod bolts onto it. So I have not been able to ride these last few gorgeous days and it's KILLING ME! Plus I am excited about getting a Drummer standard muffler. The Jardine just wasn't for me or the bike. I want the stock jack points back too since we have standard jacks here at the dealership. Drake, What are your tips for polishing the stock header? I remember the CityX having some purty ones... |

Chase, Go to Auto Parts store Buy a small pack of 3M automotive sand paper (its black). Need grits 400, 800, and 1000. Sand the header while still on the bike starting with the 400 (roughest). Make your way up to the 1000. Header will become silver in color. The longer you rub, the shinier it gets. Finish by using a liquid metal polish. I use the little bottle of Blue Magic. This will make it look like chrome. The first time the header goes through a heat cycle, they will turn gold again, but remain shiney. |

Good Friday there is a ride leaving out of Fayetteville, AR that lasts from about 10:00 a.m. till around 5:30 p.m., then another night ride leaving Siloam Springs at 6:30 and we will ride somewhere, sometimes into Oklahoma. If anybody would like to go, ride to my house Thursday and you can follow me to Fayetteville in the morning. Let me know if it interests you. |

Well, I just got my 2003 XB9S with all the new for '07 Cherry Bomb Red stuff on it, the Dunlop 616 tires off of a Uly, and black out stuff off of a CityX...it looks cool, race kitted, runs and sounds great. I had it at Route 66 on Saturday. If the sun is out tomorrow, I snap some pics to post. If Tuesday is nice I am ready. |

Chase, So you made it back to Stillwater alright? Thanks for coming! Mike, Good to see you again! Your Uly was getting a lot of looks from the sportbike crowd. Most of them have never seen one. For everyone else, You missed out on Burgers at Johnnies and cruising around Tulsa. The weather was perfect. Drake |

Oh, about $3500 OBO if you hurry, parts will be here in about a week.... Insurance Pool auctions, where crashed units go after they are "totaled" is where they come from.... |

Why are there little pieces of blue tape all over different things on the bike? Are those to signify what got damaged? |

As far as I can tell, those are from certain insurance company adjuster/inspector. Anything that is not perfect gets changed, many times in an attempt to "total" a vehicle. Lots of insurance companies are looking for a way out of a "crashed" motorcycle. But, they prefer rebuilt to custom built...?!?! |
