But I'd love to get a chance to actually try and get us locally motivated.. some what.. Well, I'll try and 'float by' again later and see if anyone else has been by... |

I'm in for a Ft. Washington get together. I will actually be in town for a little over a month in a row! Also, I will finally be replacing those crazy Tomahawks on my XB soon. I remember Ras mentioning that someone had tire changing tools and may be able to give me a hand (for a case of beer of choice?). Or does anyone know of a place that will change and balance for a reasonable price. All I have found is $40 per and that is ridiculous. I've changed a countless number of car tires and it takes about 3 minutes. I know that it is a little more complicated for a motorcycle rim, but no way am I paying $80 for 2. |

Well, having just installed (and re-installed, due to a brand new tire having a HOLE in it) tires on my S1W rims...it is much more of a PITA than car tires. I used to work for a Jeep dealer and I could hit the mount/balance machine, have 4 wheels off, mounted, back on the Jeep and the Jeep on the Hunter rack and aligned in the amount of time it took me to mount/balance those ()*^$&*%&^*^@# bike tires. Of course, the low profile, narrow section, and WHITE rims that I didn't want to booger up played a part too But had to have tires on the bike NOW - see next post.... |

Just a reminder, Sportfest is in 9 days, April 21. HD/Buell of Williamsport (MD), http://hdwilliamsport.com/Directions/directions.ht m for directions (scroll down, HD Frederick comes up on the top of the page). Weather.com shows showers and 61, so keep your fingers crossed. My personal plan is still to be at HD/Buell of Frederick around 8am on my S1W - bring coffee - to lead the early birds on a ride from Frederick to Williamsport. Not a sanctioned (or organized, knowing me) ride...just looking to have a bit of fun on the way out I just went thru the hassle of putting new tires on the bike, I may as well use 'em. |

Cereal, Twintour may be able to help with this, send him a PM and count me in to help. Keep me posted... As far as Ft. Washington meeting... I'd like to make it and perhaps stop by Old Glory following the meeting. Can't make an all day event out of it, I haver a gig tonight to set up and practice for. Speaking of which, one of my bands is looking for a drummer, late 20's to 30 sumpin' with heavy metal in their veins. If you know a person such as this please have them contact me ASAP. Jose, can you post meeting time? -Ras |

Meeting? We're having a meeting this weekend? It could be at Old Glory, their open Grand Opening event is today However, we could do it next weekend at Williamsport to give Peter and others a chance to attend. If you needed any more motivation to attend Sportfest here's the info: 4/21 - SportFest @ HD of Williamsport The Ultimate Riding Experience w/Buell Demo Fleet Test Rides Riding Skills Closed Course Challenge Meet & Greet w/Brian Bemisderfer ‘02 FUSA & ‘04 ASRA Champion That's the same weekend as the Baltimore Open House, but we can go to that one on Sunday. So next weekend is good for everybody? On another topic, anybody going to the MotoST race at VIR April 29th? Grand Am Cars and VTwin bikes on the Full VIR course, should be very interesting. |

For DC metro Buellers interested in going to the Sportfest, let's meet at Ft Washington HD/Buell at 7 am. We should be able to slab it to Frederick by 8 am to meet Joe and the rest there and continue on to Williamsport. See you there. |

Cool, thanks guys. I'm still waiting on the axle removal tool (didn't come with my XB) so I can get the wheels off. Ras, do you want to email him first and give him a heads up before I contact him? (Your right Delta, that's a little far! Can you balance too? Lets say I'll keep you in mind as a backup.) I will certainly try to make it up for Sportfest. Someone PM me their cell# so I can find you guys when I get there. Jose, I still need to pay your GF back for that brake lever. Would you be interested in a free set of new in the package EBC front brake pads for a tuber? Then you could get her something! Hope to see everyone next weekend. I'm up for Saturday at Williamsport.. We can try and find a few minutes and hatch a few ideas.. I won't be riding, since my bike is with DafanZ Tuning right now. But I'll cage out, bring a lid for test rides and my black hat for .. well.. shooting pictures. As far as the MotoST goes, I was hoping to go, but it seems like I won't make it after all. I don't think I'd get a photo pass (AMA type events are still difficult for me) and I need to make time for CCS and TPM and what not .. Oh and I'm going to drop another e-mail to Private Track Time about the Buell day at VIR. Hmmmm.. Maybe they will answer me this time and I'll have a little more news about that event. Guess I'll talk at 'yall later! |

Also just got confirmation on some '07 orders: (3) black 12R, (2) black Uly, (1) Valencia 12Scg, (1) black Scg, and (1) white P3. If anyone around is looking for a new XB or Blast, be sure to stop in this weekend & say hello |

Dang I have tickets to Hershey park that day. Fun with the kids wins this one. Adrenaline in the form of roller coasters and funnel cakes here I come. Oh and super bummed about failing my bike license test, stupid rules. Who knew you failed the entire thing if you stop, put feet down, turn on your turn signal and proceed right out of the U-turn box. That and I slid the front wheel on the wet asphalt during the emergency stop. The instructor was not amused when I commented that there was snow on the ground a few feet away. He made me push the bike all the way back to where I parked the truck and watched me load it whole he did parerwork. Blast tards. Maybe next time, Any MSF classes starting soon that still have openings??? |

Bullseye - kids definitely take priority, have a blast! And on the test...man, I guess I really did get lucky. When I took mine (*years* ago) I made a couple slip-ups (minor - wheel on the line not behind it, foot down, rear wheel lockup on panic stop), but the guy told me he'd decided right off the bat to pass me when I didn't wave off because it was raining that day. Sympathy vote, I guess |

any one out there going to attend this buell demo day? http://www.hdstore.com/view-event.aspx?id=103 and has anyone seen this being advertised anywhere locally? if you advertise it they will come. plus throw in some good atmosphere and they might have good turn out. or maybe they don't want a good turn out so they can get rid of the buell line like so many before them |

They do have a great atmosphere, but to be frank, the roads blo due to the heavy congestion on they demo route. Awful location. |

They do have a great atmosphere, but to be frank, the roads blo due to the heavy congestion on they demo route. Whaaaat? It's like a 20-30 min demo ride through the "seven sisters". Ras, you went to Rahway HD last year. That route sucked. I think I spent more time at traffic lights then actually riding. |

No, it was Baltimore HD. I remember they had a benefit ride that same day. We had a few folks from Penn. come with us. I apologize for putting a negative spin on it because it is a good dealership, it's just my impression of it. We did the demo route prior to riding the demos. I'll be there again this year. I haven't been on a TT yet. |

Hey guys, I don't know if I'll make it to the ride on Saturday (its my last weekend free, except for Memorial Day weekend), and I have a lot of housekeeping things to do. I may do a poker run out of Pete's Cycle on Sunday if anyone's interested. |

In addition to the Sportfest, there are a bunch of other things going on. From ColemanPowersports Woodbridge, VA http://www.psnnewsletter.com/newsletters/11129_200 7_4_18_0_39_36.html I only posted this so you can sign up to test ride a Can Am Spyder! It's the same weekend as the Buell Demos at Baltimore but you can do one Saturday and one Sunday. Ras, I agree the route is a bit of a pain due to the traffic, but once you hit the seven sisters, you forget all about it! As mentioned before, the HD/Buell of Baltimore Open House 4/21 & 22 http://www.hdstore.com/view-event.aspx?id=101 WERA Motorcycle Road Racing at Summit Point http://www.wera.com/pdf/summit042207.pdf So many places to go, so little time...... Next Weekend MotoSt 3 hour race at VIR http://www.moto-st.com/Events/2007_Round3.asp Anybody going??? I'll be there helping out James Gang Racing. They might need some more volunteers to work in the pits (fueling, data logging, etc). More info as I get it. |

Well the weather keeps looking better and better for this weekend at Williamsport I'm starting to scuff in the new shoes on the S1W...and I guess I'll have the "perfect excuse" when we get pulled for speeding, too - I broke the speedo cable! <shrug> I'm working on a route from Frederick to Williamsport for the AM ride. I rode most of it yesterday and it looks like we're going to have to hit the highway for at least the last portion. The backroads (which are all nice and clean, with only one wet spot from runoff) take up nearly 45 minutes from Frederick to Smithsburg - a brief stint on 70 to the Middletown exit, 40A to Middletown, turn on 17, take to 77, take 77 over the mountain to 64/Smithsburg). Since I'm technically "working"...I'll need to be on site at HDW around nine-ish, so I'm looking at getting on 70 at Smithsburg and riding interstates from there (only about 10 minutes' worth). Any thoughts? |
