Works now... Sorry. The built in firewall was blocking all traffic, even though I had told it to keep httpd OPEN. <sigh> The link on the top of the page isn't critical, but it would be nice if it was changed to www.brewcitythunderbikes.org right now, you can use the following to reach our site anyhow: brewcitybrag.org brewcitythunderbikes.org brewcitythunderbikes.com brewcitythunderbikes.net |

It's been sunny, dry and in the 80's here! It tends to be a bit dusty, but you get used to that. |

Usually 7-12 ... but we are always trying for more ... this month's meeting is a pretty important one ... Homecoming, track days, rides ... BRAG to HOG crossover (pretty much done but there is always more things to iron out) Snow doesn't bother me - I do hate it but -- we live in WI - deal with it ... but I have my lil one tonight and I don't like taking her out in this weather .. While next week is showing very nice weather as far as above 50 and no snow ... would be easier for everyone to have it next week and thats most likely what will happen .. one of our usual attenders won't be here this week (Matt) but will be here next week ... Like I said - Steve will let us know .. but it has been brought up to postpone... |

Yup, we're going to postpone this week's meeting. Till April 18th 6:45PM. I also have a 4x4, but most people don't. All next week is supposed to be in th 50s, and sunny. At least we'll be able to ride to the meeting. Speaking of meetings, I attended last week's HOG meeting. And out of 200 or so HOG members, I was the only one who rode there |

Steve - for those who don't already know ... is the uhh ... craziest ? out of our bunch ... and on first glance - you'd think it was me ... Steve has following a salt truck to work on his resume ... I only have riding in 16 degree weather on mine ... He is a die hard motorcyclist !! Steve, I will call the other Steve so he know for sure ... just in case he doesn't get the e-mail in time. |

Die hard? Naah. I just like to ride. The salt truck incident, well, that was an interesting ride to say the least. I did however get a kick out of Troy at Hals calling me "one of those crazy effing Buell people" for riding to the meeting last week And all the strange looks I got by the other HOG members. I sat right next to what looked like a die hard Harley guy. Right down to the long ass beard, tatoos, etc... I couldn't believe it, but he was actually interesting in my helmet of all things... Brian, thanks for calling Steve. |

Steve, or anyone who knows, or anyone who can make up something if they don't know, Will Hal's have those new messenger bags for the meeting next week, assuming we don't get more crapsnowla dumped on us. And if so what are the requirements to get one? And would anyone know how they compare to something like a Chrome brand bag for bicycling use? Thinking I'd like to make a meeting again, maybe ride the bike down assuming I can find all my gear from where ever it got stuffed into over the winter. I do need to replace the front isolator/engine-mount, but should be good for some more miles (hopefully). I'm not on the meeting email list, don't check email often enough anyway, maybe I should go visit the official club web site again sometime soon too. I'm rambling, I'll stop now, off to kick the computer again..... 6:45pm Wednesday April 18th for the meeting, correct????? Thanks. ps, anybody know how long it takes to swap out a 'tuber front engine mount isolator, and can I just re-use the existing bolts, nuts, washers when doing so? misplaced the service manual someplace over the winter too. = = = = = ps, Bomber, if you read this, have any entropy lab time slots available for an isolator change-out some weekend or Friday afternoon before May 6th? There might be a pint of something or other in it for you. Thanks. I'm thinking I might want to test out the GPS unit in the tank bag from home to e-lab before heading to dead-end roads out in SlimeyCrudRun land. (Message edited by mikej on April 12, 2007) |

Mike .. You'll have to wait for the Buell demo days, the bags aren't just given out - annually when Buell does a demo day( typically a weekend) they have given away bags in the past for taking a Buell for a demo ride... This year, Hal's demo days (Steve, correct me if I'm wrong) are the 18th and 19th of May. So you'll have to wait until then for your free bag ... And yes, next Wednesday for the meeting.. Also - I have offered it up to anyone who needs it in the past ... while it may not be the Entropy Lab ala Bomber style - but the 'Check Your Nuts Garage' as it's been recently and fittingly named, is more than suited to just about any fixing needs ... for the past month I have been having my own little garage night every Friday with assistance from Matt (Carparts009) - you are welcome to come on down .. we can give you a hand with whatever you need to do. (during the season, I try to have a wrenching day at least once a month to take care of any needs) I'm also just on the south side of Milwaukee - bordering Greenfield and Greendale Brian |

Thanks Brian, appreciate it. I'll mark those days in May on my calender and will watch for Hal's email updates. I'm up the road a few miles in Port Washington. I'm going to be rummaging around the garage this weekend digging out missing parts from various bins, pretty sure I have an isolator already. I'll touch base at the meeting to see when the next garage night is. Thanks. Mike. |

The next garage night ? no need to check in .. for a while it will be every Friday (has been for the past month and then some) .. nothing but sorting out things on the S1 I acquired in January ... Matt will have some things to do within the next week or two on his XB... like I said .. always something going on in there ... Next Friday is a for sure wrenching night .. See ya Wednesday (It will be more than nice enough to ride to the meeting !!!) |

Hey Mike, Yes, Hal's has the Buell Messenger bags. The Demo Ride Promotion starts on April 15th (April 16th since we are not open on Sunday). We have several bikes for demo so stop by. The Buell Demo Fleet will be here for two days in May, the 18th and 19th. Brew City Thunderbikes will be provide lead and trail riders for this event. About the isolator, shgouldn't be a big deal. I checked with the guys in the back just to make sure. You will need to pull the tank and have swivel adapters and a good "breaker" bar. Maybe we can do yours and Brian's S1 at the same time at a garage night. Brian- I am still looking into the issue with the jacket. I talked with Nora on Tuesday and she will check with Buell while she is in training this week. I should have some news by next week's meeting. BudC

No problem Brian. Bud, Do you have a TT in stock for a quick around the block out the back alley demo ride? No wheelies, stoppies, jumps, ditches, curb hops, just want to see how one fits and feels. Would have to have a seat way lower than a Uly, even though I'm close to 6' my legs ain't comfortably long enough for the Uly reach on the street. Also look around to see what you have along the lines of an FLH, used, old, ready to auction off, condition variable, not necessarily ready for the side used bike alley on the south side of the store. Not looking to buy just yet unless a good trade for the M2 comes along. Need a wife comfortable cruiser when one does. By the way, is that one of the new Buell dirt bikes with an XL tank on it in your profile????? (sorry, couldn't resist asking ) |

Mike, I'm sad to say that I do not currently have a TT in stock. Steve bought the only one we've had and so far I can't get my hands on another one. Maybe Steve will let you borrow his!! I will keep my eyes open for an FLH for you. Any idea of year and color? No, that's an '89 XT600 in the picture. I am currently selling that bike and one other so I can take home the new 2004 XB12S that we have in stock. Seems no one else wants to buy it so I thought I'd give it a good home. I hope that my Road King doesn't get jealous! Steve and I are going to swap some parts because I am converting the 12S into an XB12SXT (I'll let you figure it out). BudC |

Color is just paint, price is more a determinant than year, newer is better, lower price is better, budget determines if when what is found will work or not (if that makes any sense at all). I've got a couple side things going on right now, but am thinking that by the end of summer I'll have a winter cruiser project to work on. Probably a RoadKing or ElectraGlide or maybe an FX. Got a fairly wide focus on what will work. Thanks. |

Bud and I just got an email from the head of Buell Owner's Club/Loyalty department. Brewcity Thunderbikes is now an official Buell owner's club. I was a bit worried about our logo being too close to the Buell logo to be approved. But they didn't comment on it either way. So I'd say we're pretty safe now. |

Steve, I'm a copywriter for my fulltime employer, it's not OK unless HD says it is. Have you contacted their Marketing dept? Buell/HD is very very picky about logo useage. |

Bud, as you know, Mark banged her up a bit last fall. Could I order a new cam cover and header through Hal's? You can PMme pricing if you'd prefer. Looking forward to joing the club. I work every night this week, so I won't be able to attend this wed. |

Steve: Your fine. See the Buell Graphics Display Standards book for more info. If there is any problem you'll hear from Dearborn, not Milwaukee. Me? . . I did it the old fashion way. . . and seized the name Buell Owners Club with the Kansas Secretary of State 5 years before H-D entered the picture.

Buellinachinashop, when asked to submit a club, you are asked for the web site, and logo files. Since they approved us, I'd gander that our logo is fine. I know how anal HD is. I've done quite a bit with them over the years, making their molds and dies. My brother also has worked there in many different departments for 30 odd years now, and is currently in charge of Screaming beagle dynos, and experimental mechanics. |

MikeJ, about my "uly/TT/XBR" project... I still don't have ALL the parts yet. The epoxy coating they put on the original Uly parts is amazingly TOUGH. And impossible to get off without several hours of stripper, and media blasting. The castings underneath the epoxy weren't the greatest either. Took some handy work with a right angle "grinder" and some 36, 60 and then 80 grit pads. And then another trip to the media blaster to give it a rough finish for powerder coating purposes. I'm also still waiting on my 90MM Hella headlights. I guess they are real popular with the Miata, Ferraris, and other sports cars, and Hella can't keep up with demand. SUPPOSEDLY I'm going to get them this week. But I heard that last week as well. |

Hey chinashop, Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier but I was swamped all day with the Buell Messenger Bag Promotion-didn't sit down all day. I am off tomorrow but I will check it out for you on Wednesday. I can PM you or if you are coming to the meeting Wednesday night I can let you know then. With regard to the logo issue, Steve is absolutely right-if Buell did not like the logo they would not have posted us. I actually called manager at Buell who is responsible for the Enthusiast portion of Buell's website to see if they could speed up our application. I know that it was looked at carefully. Buell, just like Harley, monitors websites from time to time just to make sure everyone is complying. Thanks BudC |

We will talk about this stuff at Wednesday's meeting. See ya, BudC |
