While the rooms are available i will reserve one, and steve has volunteered to do the same. Presky, it seemed like everything was pretty much booked, this way at least we have somthing, ya know? Also, it seems like there will be at least 25 other rooms full of buellers, and likely Erik and the rest of the factory folks that will be at the race. We all can go ahead and reserve our own ferry ticket, i already did. Probably be a good choice since its also first come first served! Matt |

Looks like a lot of planing has been going on. Ricochet, thanks for the telephone call and heads up on all that has been happening.I need to be back in Rome by Tuesday, and since, Wisconsin is only a hards day ride I would not mind starting back until Monday morning. I had sorta figured on camping to save money & be closer to my bike, but I sure get more rest in a motel(as long as I feel my bike is safe). I do not think I will join the rest of you on the ferry. But I would like to ride some of the way with everyone. If we know where to stay I will take a route around the lake and meet you at the first nites stop. As soon as the roads get clear of the salt and around here, the snow & ice, we should all get together. How is that ride for Sunday 22 Apr coming along? Where & what time should we meet? Frank, when is your bike coming back from the painters? Is it going to be ready to ride on 22 Apr? I am sure everyone would like to see it. -Trapper |

I have a tail bag and just ordered a set of saddle bags. Hopefully the saddle bags will be a little larger than the tail bag. I can't even fit a single change of clothes in it. |

Beautiful ride today. Started to wear my Buell gloves, then remembered what Frank said about his fingers, so used my cold weather gloves. However, did not even take my electric vest or socks. Did not get cold at all. When I left this morning the bank in Rome read 33 degrees and when I got back at almost five this afternoon and came by the bank again, it read 39 degrees. Enjoyed the day on the Buell so much, the thirty degree temps never detracted from the joy of riding. Then, I got home and turned on the six o'clock news and they had to talk about another winter storm we are suppose to get for the next few days. I love New York! |

For a back seat bag, I use an old Tank Bag I had for my Ultra. It fits read well and also serves as a back rest. It is big enough that I keep a three ring binder with all my trip info in it, as well as a fairly complete tool roll, a camera, maps and a host of other trip, route, and rides items. I use a buell tank bag with a first aid kit, flashlight, hat and other items I may need easy quick access to. My saddle bags are reserved for larger items I may need on extended rides, to include a shop manual and parts book and tire plug kit with a 12V compressor. |

yay upstate..... Nothing like a good ole Noreaster to ruin spring . I'm hoping to have my bike back in ridable condition by Friday, so I'm still on for the ride next weekend. Have we decided on a meeting location for Sunday Morning? |

Sweet. On a completely unrelated note... Anyone know of any good painters in the area that might be able to do some work on my flyscreen? I'm looking to have a picture painted on it, but don't know of anyone locally who would be able to do it. The only person I have seen is a girl named Erica who does amazing pinstriping, but hasn't called me back. Since it looks like I won't be getting the XB screen on the bike before next weekend, I've got a little time, so mailing it off to someone shouldn't be a problem, as long as I get it back before the end of May. Any ideas? Tom |

Meet up place for next Sunday COULD BE Schaefer's Quickway, 360 State Highway 10, Deposit, NY around 10AM. It's a convenience store. Alternatively, I had thought about including route 51, and having everyone meet at burger king in Ilion, but it adds more time to a long day already. Carpedium81, are you game with grabbbing 51 from Ilion? |

Silenc3r, I have a GREAT airbrusher and that is where my bike is this very minute. He can do ANYTHING.He goes by Kustom Kevin and everyone in the Utica -Rome area knows his work. He has done ghost flames on my last truck a mural on one of my show cars and is now doing my brand new bike. He will not disappoint you. Let me know and I will put you in touch with him |

Silenc3r, You're welcome to meet me and Carpediem in Syracuse if you want, just seems like more highway and real early rolling for you for nothing. Let's wait and see what the weather brings. Noreaster brought a few inches of snow this morning...has everyone got chains and studs???? |

Still waiting to get the clear to close on my house, and not sure if we will close by the end of this week. If we don't and I can sneak away on Sunday morning, I will. I will know for certain by the end of the week. But if you don't hear back from me, don't wait in Deposit for me |

Did a quick look see on mapsource (Garmin) and Schaefer's Quickway in Deposit, NY appears to be a 2 1/2 to 3 hr ride from Rome, via I90W to I481S to I81S to 17E. Leaving about 0700 is no problem for me, how about you Frank? Frank I could meet you at the Citgo across from Lowes at 7 AM. Is that time okay for you? Ricochet, where should we meet you and Zedtwentyeight (Kegan) and what time? How about everyone else? Ten AM in Deposit may mean a little early time for leaving Rochester area for Matt. Carpedium81, what do you think? Deposit from Endicott should work for Silenc3r, as he appears closest to there. How about it, Tom? Doon from Warnerville is a little closer to Deposit that the Syracuse & Rome riders so lets keep our fingers crossed that he too can get away. What, do you say Doon, can you make that schedule? |

I officially pushed moving back to next weekend. So I should be able to get away and meet up. As for 10AM in deposit, shouldn't be a problem Deposit is 1.5 hours from my place if I go the boring way (88) and like 2 hours if I go the fun way. So I have to leave by 8, which isn't an issue. Will probably leave around 7ish and take my time getting there. |
