It was good seeing y'all! Thank everyone for the help. We are close, but no cigar. TPS reset, new plugs, new wires and still surging at a constant RPM. Not near as often and not as bad...yet. Two Questions: 1. WTF is wrong with my bike? 2. Is it ok to ride? |

Maybe your intake manifold is leaking air? Try spraying some intake/throttle body cleaner (not carb cleaner, it eats the lining) around the base of the throttle body or where the manifold connects to each head and see if the rpms jump. |

N12R, If Brian comes over today, see if you can collect on the tires for me since he lives so far away. I'm not sure if he'll make it to the mtns today, He might need to pick-up his phone. 190+10 for mounting = $200 bones. Not bad for a set of New Super Corsa's and mounting. |

Well... It certainly is not getting better. Went for a little test ride this morning and answered question 2. If it is not even confidence inspiring to ride in a straight line, the curves are the last place it needs to be. Guess I will go pick up some intake/throttle body cleaner and start from there. Thanks Sanchez. |

Sorry to hear that Stealth, that sucks. May want to make sure SM-Buell has intake gaskets in stock. I believe they're open til 6. Looks like the V is catering to a different crowd...

I'm back at the house....bike broke down just north of Cumming. The engine light came on, then the gauges quite working and finally the engine died as I pulled into the parking lot. Check the batt' connections and everything looks good. I've rode it several times in the last couple of weeks and no problems. Kdan and Bambi stopped by and gave me a "nice cold bottle water" thanks ya'll We tried to see if the bike would turn over and it wouldn't. Seems like I did this last year...and even twice. The first time SMHD replaced the stater and I paid for a Batt' and then on the way home it left me stranded again. SMHD pick the bike up quickly I might add and replaced stater again and regulator too. This is the fourth time its left me stranded on the side of the road.....to make things worst I had some guys om BMW's stop to see if they could help. They just put my bike down and laughed "said its a Harley alright" I smiled and laughed back with the finger.. The second group of riders on Jap bikes were much kinder and felt my pain. Then a cool couple stopped and helped, they were cool as she-ot....Thanks again Kdan/Bambi 3%ers all the way!!! I'll fill ya'll in later....I'm cooling off (Message edited by shred on March 25, 2007) |

RPMs seem to drop when I spray the base of the intake. But it is not idling consistently so it is not obvious. This is driving me to smoke myself stupid and drink my insides raisin dry. Parts says they have them in stock. |

Since it's changing idle when you spray, that seems to be the problem. While you're riding and it starts sucking air the ECM is trying to adjust to the extra air flow, causing the surge. Do a search in the KV, Scully (Keith from Dark Horse Moto) Had the same problem, and posted a "how to". I'm not sure if the engine has to be rotated or not. |

stealth I hate to sound like a broken record... I almost said something the other day but it seems to be my fix for these types of issues since I had it... but check that o2 sensor... Hopefully it's something small... run some fuel injector cleaner through it and see if anything gets better... if not sounds like Glitch is right... get the gaskets... and the socket wrench... Good Luck buddy... I will help if I can... Shred sorry to hear about your problems... I was bummed I didn't get to ride with you today... seems as if the gremlins have been out lately... I hope they stay away from my bike... I had my camera all hooked up and ready to tape your big ride through the mountains after that stunning performance on the track... Hopefully your not riding the DUC at MBIV... otherwise I will have to hunt you down... ahhaahahahah... I'll help you too if I can! Bambi & Kdan... wish we could have riden a bit more together... hope you have a safe trip home... Kdan I will get that video up soon... Buellish... Let me know if you made it home ok... worried about you and that magnetic tire of yours... HANG IN THERE!I have a good Idea of what your going through... I will keep you in my prayers... not that He listens to me... |

"I have a good Idea of what your going through" It's good to have someone who understands.Thanks. Good to see you Bambi and Kdan. Good luck sorting the 12 Shred. |

Bambi & I made it home, other than some drama on 400 with no problems. We had to stop at 4 gas stations before we found anyone with hi-test. Seems a whole flock/herd/troupe of rice cars were out today and soaked up all the super unleaded. We were South of Dawsonville running with gas lights on before we found any. My bike ran great all day and so did Bambi's. It must be the Gixxer parts. Charlie, nice score on the SV. Ask me about regulators. those are notorious for eating them, and at $150 a pop. I've got a $20 option. And I lost a curb feeler today. I drug it bad and I guess it escaped. Now we're going to take a nap. |

Charlie great bike. Hate so many had problems. It was a great day for me. Today I went across 180 ,rode Richard Russel ,rode over to Lake Burton, rode to Tiger , to Clayton and to Highlands and back. This is the longest I have rode since March of last year. Did pretty good but was really getting slow by the time I got home. Still was able to kick a little squid ass before I got home. |

Well, thankfully it's only a small leak, and not a blow out like last time (ruined my rotor and brake pads), also Smokescreen is bringing the special tools needed to do the job quickly. Thanks Smokescreen! Stealth: I just got your voice mail this morning, I had left my cell at work on Friday (imagine that!) I'll give you a call during the day today. March Badness IV Begins in a few days! I have to work today, and tomorrow, then I'm off til next Wednesday. So, if anyone needs any help with anything before MB, just let me know and maybe I can help. You know I will if I can. NewSV: I'm really stoked for you! Can't wait to see the new ride! It'll be good riding with you once again. You're back! You're back in the saddle again!

Congrats on the new sled Charlie. Poor bike doesn't know what it's got coming! One thing I like better about rice over HD's is that they RUN! HEH HEH HEH Sorry all, still sore at my bike after shitting the bed the starting day of MB3. They must know when they're about to be flogged. |
