Kristi-ride in May can be at my house again, does not bother me, in fact I would enjoy it, that is if nothing else pans out. Yes the Mapquest directions take you to where we ran into each other last year. They will will work, but outta the way, more time and not to mention the road gets kinda goat 'trail-ish'!! Out of TWO make a left drive to Laurel Canyon and make a left, no stop sign going in that direction though. I 'll watch my video and see if I can make out anything that would help!! Anybody know what a 05 or 2006 1200 Sportster would be worth? 1100 miles, phaseIII kit, screaming eagle pipes, backrest, better seat, and small windshield??!!! Found one that I may not be able to pass up if I can raise the money!! |

I have seen the 04 up sportsters going cheap, like 5-7K but then again i have seen them with people asking 10+ still trying to get used to a sportster that has a rubber mounted engine. But go for it! Love me a sporty! |

Man, the guys at Buell are trying to get me in trouble. My wife and I had almost paid off all our debt (excluding the house, of course) and then I get this email from Buell about their new track days. $150 for VIR full is a great price, throw in free photos (I paid $75 for pictures of my last event), catered lunch, a t-shirt, and some other goodies and it's a steal. I can't quite sign up just yet, but I'm going to try to make it to the 9/12 event. 1313- I had almost forgot about those parts. No idea when we'll get a chance to meet up now that we don't have Brag meetings anymore. Maybe it would be easier just to ship them. Let me know how you want to work it out. |

JimR - C3 Jr. at your house sounds good. Lets work on a date and we'll post a thread. Jean gave me specific directions from 60/180....7 miles to the white Church sign, turn right, left into the road/driveways to the cabins! |

I suggest that you give Kevin Drummer a call. More than likely he can help you out. 3 hour inspection? yep...Went to crank the bike up to go three blocks for an inspection... nothing but a speedy click. GD! Drive to HD of Greensboro for a battery, they send me to High Point. $81WoW! I get to the tire store and the rear tire just passes. The tech was a Harley guy and loved the Buell, told me he will mount and balance my tires next week for $20 . He spent about 45 minutes taking the old sticker off the fork, making sure he didn't scratch it up. New sticker is under the pasta strainer on a plate.See you guys soon. I'm ready to get the hell outta here for awhile! |

What a great day to ride!!! Got to ride a few different bikes too. 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050: Very nice, Killer engine! Very comfortable! Controls need to fit me better. 2007 BMW 800S: Sweet ride. Light, nimble, and very smooth. 2007 BMW R1200R: Nice but didn't really push my buttons. BEST BRAKES I'VE EVER USED ON A BIKE though. Leg ergos didn't really work for me. Sat on the most beautiful bike I have ever seen. Pure unadulterated lust! Red and White 2007 Ducati Sport 1000. I will have one, someday. Rode the HP2 home about 125 miles through the twisties with the motard set up and kept grinning and thinking "this bike is me". Fun day. |

Hi Mike ...so that's where you were. Please don't mention the Triumph again for awhile. I don't think my heart could take it. I've wanted one since I was 15, and I will be a proud owner of one in hopefully five years, or less. I did the ear candle treatment last Sunday, and it worked very well. My son Luke turned me on to it. Much better hearing on my part. |

I plan to due the track day 9/12. I plan to enter the novice class so I do not have to get leather gear. According to the rules no Cordura riding pants. What does that means? The Contis are not lasting. With 1600 miles on the rear and 4200 miles on the front, I do not have enough tread left to ride across state at the end of the month. So we are going to try out Webe's Nomar tire changer and switch the tires to the Pirelli Stradas I have in the barn. |

I'm in the novice too. This will be fun. You don't want Cordura on the track anyway as it will not hold up to a long slide. I know this from experience (low side on the street). . (Message edited by rubberdown on March 11, 2007) |

Hey M2nc - From what I'm reading, it seems as though you CAN wear cordura (if that's what you have) but only in the novice group. Remember, they are most likely talking about solid stuff.. I don't know of anyone that let's you on the track in mesh. You may want to drop them a line and tell them what you have, that way they can tell you 'Yes' ahead of time and when you go through tech, there will be no doubt - you can have the proof that it's approved in hand (just in case). I'm kind of shocked that they allow chaps in the novice group. But then again, I think part of that is to get people hooked on track days .. so they want to go out and get proper gear to do more days.. kind of a vicious circle.. ya know? |

Just found this in the Daytona thread: If it were not for Lafayette and Justin, I think Olddog wold be still sitting in Daytona with a flat tire! How good do you have it when you can call up someone that you know from an online group of friends and say "I have a flat" to find them on your way with a truck and tools within an hour? Should be an interesting story. |

Ah who needs an XBRR
It was a fun day riding in and around Jacksonville. Mad Moto Mike pulled off and took some pictures of the group riding on Old Maple Hill Rd. My front tire was cooked after the ride - so Webe came over and we tried out his Nomar Tire Changer. That is the ticket. We rigged the bike, took off the front tire, took the wheel to Mark's truck and changed out the tire. We are slow at it, but it was all done in the back yard, can't beat that. |

Kristi-That date is fine by me! I've scouting(read-riding to get lost), got a whole bunch of new roads, thinking maybe the indian mounds around the area, maybe a covered bridge, possibly the aircraft museum I found on memorial day, see thread in adv folder. |

Cordura is a synthetic fiber. Think Kevlar, but not as strong as Kevlar. It's got a sheen to it, so it is pretty tough and can take a beating, BUT... It WILL NOT hold up to a great track day slide. At all. But for anything else you may do... Cordura is the TICKET. Tour Master uses a lot of it. I have some Cordura, and I love it. But once in a while, Dead Cow is the way to go. Mark |

Hmmm. I've got some first gear over pants. I've no idea if they are Condura or not. I looked at the rules, it appears that for Novice class they aren't too picky about what you wear. |
