Medved, My shoulder is screwed up. Feels like it isn't in the socket just right. Went to a Med Doc and she said Ibuprofen until the inflammation went down to avoid cortisone shots. That's done but it still feel "dis-jointed". Think a deep tissue massage would work or a Chiropractor? Speaking of massage, anyone know how to get in touch with Buellalove? She use to work right around the corner from where I live but not sure where or how to get in touch with her and would like to see if she would give me a "Buell Buddy" discount to make a little money on the side. |

Bambi Ibuprofen is a good antiinflamatory I would follow what the doc said. That being said did he take x-rays? did he say that it is actually dislocated? Is it a ligament or a tendon problem? How did you do it in a fall, accident, is it a recurrent injury, have you felt the pain constantly get worse? do you have a loss in range of motion? A massage therapist that is good and knows what they are doing can help with an injury. With pain usually come hyperactivity of muscles surrounding the area especially in the arm. you said that it is your shoulder so if you are having a loss of range of motion or swelling the supporting muscles are compensating by changing their natural physiology ( state of rest (contraction)) in order to lessen the pain so you might find increased tension in your chest mid back even lower back as the muscle latissimus Dosi is connected to your upper arm and runs across and into your lower back and can become tensed in a compensatory response to an upper arm injury. so yes a good massage could help counteract these effects. As well as depending on what exactly is going on inside your shoulder which I can not speculate on as of yet, a chiropractor very well may be able to help. if it is dislocated or if there is some sort of neuropathology (nerve compression) causing this pain chiropractic care would serve you well in my opinion. this may also help in reliving the compensatory responses you may be feeling. I can not tell you for sure as I don not know the whole situation but these are some things to consider. also Be aware of what cortisone does. It will simply deaden the area that it is injected into for X amount of time so that you will not feel the pain that your shoulder is being subjected to. it will not heal the area affected and after time after the effects have worn off if the original problem has not been dealt with the condition may have worsened and the pain may come back. know your options. hope this helps and you feel better |

Glitch, you look ultra cool on that bike, is it a 10-speed? I got the idea the other night. I was going to do it when Smokescreen called and we headed over to y'alls instead. I remembered about it last night and got MrsG to take the picture. The rest is Photoshop history...

Glitchster, you are TOOOOOO funny! Medved, yes that does help. At least give me some kinda idea what's going on. Not really dislocated, just feels like it isn't in the joint right and makes weird clicking snapping sounds. I woke up that way and have a feeling I threw the covers off while i was sleeping with my arm at a weird angle. Frank hooked me up with a number to a good chiropractor and am hoping to try and may an appointment to get up that way just haven't had a chance yet cause of a HUNGMONGOID project at work. Thanks, both you guys for all your help. |
