Does anyone have hardwood floor install experience?? I am putting a new HW floor in the first floor of my townhome. It is 3/8 engineered wood floor. My question is. I have removed the old floor that was glued to the concrete slab (what a biotch). There is glue residue from the removal that is very sticky. I have scaped it, removing all the wood splinters and such but the residue is still there. Do I have to remove the old glue or can I lay the new floor with new glue right over the top???? |

Shiney, I've installed a lot of standard old normal oak Hdwood floors. But the fake stuff, not so much...Isn't there a vapour barrier or something between the concrete and the wood? I would think there should be. Check the box for instructions. If you wanna give me a call. |

Yeah, last time I installed a fake wood floor (ok, the only time), there was a vapor barrier and a layer of padding. |

It isn't fake laminate. Its real wood so you don't need a barrier...you do for the fake stuff. Since its the slab you can't go solid because the floor would be too tall and i would have to modify the doors and molding. At least that is what the makers of hte wood told me when I called Customer service. (Bruce) Sanchez....I'm on my way over...that ok? |

Hey, Kdan...pretty sure Smokescreen is at the North Atl Trade Show today working for the bike show. I'm usually better and more accurate at this secretary thing he likes to throw me in sometimes, but I have been a little off my game lately. (Message edited by missbehavin on February 11, 2007) |

B_S: I've only installed "Floating" wood floors, no nailing and or gluing to the sub-floor. Every once in a while, I have found someone at The Home Depot or Lowe's that knows what they are talking about. There is also a flooring place off of I-85 in-between Clairmont and N. Druid Hills, on the south bound access road. I think Floor Decor is the name of the place, but that would be more of a drive for some info. You could try calling. Probably hit and miss there too depending on who you talk to about the install, well worth the dime. You could test a small spot(1"sq.) by applying some of the new glue to an area with the old residual glue to see how it reacts / cures with some drying time, but thats no sure way to know how it will react / hold over a long period of time. Just a thought. (Message edited by Fran_Dog on February 11, 2007) (Message edited by Fran_Dog on February 11, 2007) |

Sorry I missed y'all, maybe next time! New12r, welcome home, hope y'all had a good trip. I figured out my problem with the truck. The hose that goes to the reservoir had come loose. I love it when it's simple! We've got Stealth's bike to do this Saturday, would it be ok to have my bike over the following Friday? Wolfridgerider is coming down from Ohio to swap tails with me. I finally get to get my R tail! And it's black as well! |

Stealth.....all your parts are in a box now. New12R is coming to my office on Tuesday, so I will give it to him then. Since you already paid my shipping, I threw in a brand new (red) oil filter still in box and the rear brake lever. BTW..the cam cover came right off with out the cams moving an inch. Hopefully Sanchez will post the pic of the hanging side of Buell beef in his garage. The pic will explain it all. |

> I threw in a brand new (red) oil filter still in box I don't know if I'd use that. It might not be a coincidence that you used a generic oil filter, and your motor locked up 60 miles later. My garage looks like a meat locker with a corpse hanging from a hook:

I'll probably bring both bikes to MBIV. That way I'll have a back up for when the Nugget breaks down. I've decided to just give up on the oil leaks. I thought I just had the one leak on the front of the motor, but the entire bottom and the shock have a coating too. It's not enough to drip, but it sure does look like shit. I sprayed the entire thing down with carb cleaner to degrease it, then gave everything a liberal coating of foot powder to try and pinpoint the leak. After an hour or so of riding around, I've decided to just give up on oil leaks. There are small amounts of oil seeping out of so many places, that I know I'll never track it all down. I'm just going to relax and stop worrying about it. |

I accomplished all my goals for my first official race. I didn't crash, DNF or finish last. Only got 6 laps of practice on the Duc' before the race. I'll post more and some pics later. Funny thing that happened was several people I didn't even know asked me "Where's the Buell?" |

GO SHRED! When's the next race? Is it near by? Don't want to miss the next one. Nerw12r, I had a good time as well. Maybe I can take the truck's battery and use it. I bet it would fit in the battery tray! I'm hoping the chopper gets running soon! This weekend is Stealth's turn. Then my turn. Looks like the new Barn Season has begun! |

Hey Viki, Sorry you guys didn't go with us yesterday. It was a short ride (only a couple hours) but enjoyable once I got my gear switched out. Never try and break in ALL new gear at once! The kid showed us some pretty cool twisties down south in Rockdale county. Little warmer down that way but more horse trailers and driveways as well. One of these days I will gutsy-up enough to get rid of my chicken strips! |

MedVed....I dissected a Cadaver in Med School at Northwestern. My guy was about 6'2" and about 280lbs. Flipping him over on the table proved to be a challenge. Pretty fun though. I was cutting into his chest and hit something metal with the knife....it was his pace maker. The coolest thing was when I dissected his shoulder and removed it from the socket I saw that he had severe arthritis. The ball socket was like 40 grit sandpaper. |
