Ugh. I have no idea what I ate, but I spent about 7 hours dry heaving the night before last. It feels like I sprained every muscle in my upper body. Time to throw away all the food in my house and start over from scratch! |

Frank, I might have a buddy who's looking for a hand gun. I'll hit him up and see if he's ready to buy. The shape (or rather the color) of things to come:
I decided to tackle my leaking push rod cover while I had the headers off, and I sure am seeing a lot of oil on the front of the motor. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that it really is the pushrod collar and not the cylinder base gasket. - Sanchez - High on life ... and paint fumes |

Things are "none to Good" as my hill billy friends would say. This last week has been crazy. I've overcome a few problems like wrong front brake pads. Cycle Gear hooked me up and got the pads in two days. Had fairing issues, I'm using the stock upper for now and had to adapt and overcome mounting problems. The Sharkskinz cam in yesterday. The lower won't be here for a couple more days. So to pass Tech inspection I'm using a turkey tin pan. Doesn't look pretty but it will do the job. I dislocated shoulder earlier this past week. Feels much better.. I'm good to go. Know the last issue is front end problems. I've taken the forks, triples, and wheel off three times and back together. So I'm taking it to MSP this morning so this means I won't be able to practice today. I haven't given up yet. If I can get it fixed I'm still going to race on Sat. and Sun. It's going to suck not being able to practice on the new track with the new bike but I'll race anyway just to get the seat time. Sanchez, Sorry to hear the news, hope your feeling better. I had food poisoning in 90' from bad hot dogs. I just started eating hot dogs again about couple of years ago. Food poisoning sucks... I still remember it like the Azz whoopen I got in the third grade.. |

The shape (or rather the color) of things to come: Wish my headers were as easyto take off and paint. Looks nice. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that it really is the pushrod collar and not the cylinder base gasket. Fingers crossed. On a positive note, the base gasket isn't too difficult, mainly just time consuming. The hardest thing for us was the cylinder had overheated so the paper gasket (why Buell used paper is beyond me) had become part of the engine. Getting the gasket off, and not scarring the jug up, was near impossible. Shred, was really hoping to go see you race. Next time though. Good luck with the bike, I really hope it comes together and doesn't cause you to miss the race. Don't worry about it, you'll do fine I'm sure, there are plenty faster, there are plenty slower, just make sure you finish, and enjoy yourself. |

Thanks for taking care of my parts from B_S Glitch. I can't wait to get back on the road. Your head pipes look great Sanchez! That is the best wrap job I have seen yet. I want to wrap my Micron, but am not sure how it will work over the irregular diameter tubes. Maybe I can come over one night/day before MBIV and we can get it a shot. GO SHRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

MSP saved the day....They found my front end problem, the front axle was bent. They said the stock axle bends easy. I guess maybe I bent it... They let me barrow one that they had left over from one of their wrecked race bikes. It's slightly bent, not like mine. All I can do is go ride....and see what happens. I've been keeping up with all the updates today. They say over one hundred people are signed up to practice.... Here's what the weather should be like... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6gdwEVOvBY (Message edited by shred on February 09, 2007) |

New12r... Did you know this: You can get away with not messing with the valvetrain to pull the cam cover. All you have to do is rotate the engine down to pull the exhaust and as you pull the cam cover just be sure that none of the cams are coming with the cover. You can hold them with a screwdriver as you pull the cover off. |
