Sounds Good Cord. I went to the HD dealer in Vegas. Not a single accessory or clothing for Buell! They had about a dozen 05 demo bikes for sale though @ $7995 ea. |

Welcome Back Aron, How was vegas? Did the Mrs. Enjoy? Win some? Loose Some? See any Shows? This weekend is out for me, folks are in town. That and Scarlet is down for the Drummer. (I could always ride the Blast just to be in good company. Not quite as fun though.) COme to think of it, next weekend is bad too, I'm in LA. Then in in New Orleans for a week. Then in March I'm gone for two weeks. (PA then London) Then in April I'm gone for a week (AZ) and I have to squeze a trip to Carlsbad in sometime soon. (I may go to American Sport Bike in person, anyone need a parts pickup?) I hate traveling this much. (But I won't bitch about London) |

London would be great fun! What do you do? I travel from time to time, I used to travel extensively. Fun from time to time but when you are getting kicked across the globe constantly, it gets to you. On a side note, if Israel even comes up, DON'T GO!!!! I got stories for coffee ^_^ Aron, I'm good to go anytime today. |

Paul, sounds like you have a busy schedule. Vegas was fun. We don't gamble too much. Mostly my wife likes to shop and see shows. It's our time away from everything. |

Travel is fun until you run out of clean shorts, and It's hard not to see my kids for two weeks... How was the ride today? Just got my new slider from DHM today. Keith hooked me up! Bike will be as good as new soon as I get the can back on. |

Welp, I just got home from the hospital after the ride on Friday ;-/ I laid her down! Aron, you can fill them in if you'd like. I'm going to bed for a week. Long story short, the bike has a couple broken parts, I got the worst of it. Rib fractures, internal bleeding(spleen), misc. cuts/bumps/bruises. I haven't surveyed the bike for damage yet. I need to get back to bed. BIG THANKS TO Aron!!!!!! Don't know what I'd have done if you had not been there man! I owe ya HUGE! EDIT: Just did a quick survey, the bike took more left side damage than I thought ;-( I'll get a list together in a few days. (Message edited by disturbed on February 04, 2007) |

Erick, today was a nice day. I got a couple of hours in before the super bowl. I was with Cord when it happened here is a list of the parts that Cord will need (just from memory) are: 1. left side air scope 2. oil cooler air baffle cover. Not sure of technical name. 3. Clutch lever 4. left foot peg 5. shift lever linkage 6.left front turn signal Other possible parts are: mirrors, left hand guard, the whole assembly that houses the turn signal, lights and horn on the handle bar. Currently loose and spins. There may be a few more things. But Cord will have to fill you in on those items once he is up to it. |

Yes great day for riding. Saw a fellow Bueller(xbabuser)in passing, figures, I never see another Buell while I'm riding my Buell. I was the guy wearing sportbike riding gear on a Sportster. Went over Aron's favorite gravel road, Bald Peak. Most of the gravel is gone, but still need to keep an eye out. Cord, I have the front turn signal. I hope this is the only negative experience you'll ever have on a motorcycle, may the future bring more grins and motorcycle friends. |

Clutch hand lever. The shifting lever I believe is ok but the linkage broke. I found this out when I couldn't get it in neutral to push up on my trailer. And the clutch lever or cable was messed up enough that the clutch would not disengage all the way. There may be some other things but luckily Cord went down on the shoulder of the road in dirt and not asphalt. But still a nasty laydown at 40 mph with the bike ending up on top of him. |

Cord - sorry to hear about the crash... hope you're better soon. I can help with the clutch hand lever & perch, left side mirror, turn signal(s)... let me know. Wife & I took short ride during SuperBowl halftime (and most of 3rd Qtr.. didn't miss anything!), riding the Beemers, eagerly anticipating this season's planned roadtrips. Anybody got any big trips planned? We've planned several 2-3 day loops, Chief Joseph rally, my 1500 mile IronButt attempt. Also started the Buell for 1st time in a while... pulled a big metal chunk in the rear tire last time I rode the XB for errands in town, so time for new tires. Anybody try the Michelin Pilot Powers? Bought some from CycleGear last year, great end-o-season deal. |

Yes Cord got to ride in the nice white van along with the full stretcher and flat board. He got the full treatment. Yes I should have gone out riding during the 3rd quarter but I had some friends over. 2-3 day trips sound fun. not sure how the wife would like it though. I will probably start on some 1 day trips. |

Hey guys and gal, Thanks for all the kind words. I'll get an inventory of parts together soon. I think I need to replace my lid too. I'll try to get a pic. The trauma surgeon said it would be ok to use with a new shield since it took kind of a glancing blow. If I had an open face helmet, I'd have no face! Isn't it a golden rule to just replace? Anyone know who made the Buell X helmet? Replacement suggestions? I'm feelin better, just generally hurt and sore all over. The ribs are main thing. The spleen bleed was kind of a re-injury. I had surgery to repair a ruptured spleen 12 years ago, thank got this was not as severe of a bleed. I didn't want to go through the surgery again. I'm already looking forward to makin the repairs and gettin back out! Thanks again, Cord |

Good Deal Cord! So tell us; what hapend? (and don't try and sugar coat it! You screwed up Boy' Talk us through it so we can all learn.) I'll start. Last month when I laid Scarlet down it was my damm fault... Too much throttle on too cold of a tire. Ass end slid out to the left side and passed me. Rear brake and easing off the throttle probably would have corrected it, but I whiped into it to try and correct and the bike heeled over and slaped me off the pavement. Lesson 1. Cold tire = Very bad. Lesson 2. Slight corrections, dont "Grab a handfull" of anything until you have tried something more moderate. Lesson 3. Very rarely is it not the riders fault. Get over the blushing and figure out what hapend, learn form it and get over it. Aron, sounds like your a good man to have aroung in a pinch. Well done Sir. |

Thanks Paul. Tell you the truth it scared the hell out of me seeing Cord go down. I am just glad that Cord is OK and I was able to help. Cord, the maker of the Buell helmets that you have is KBC. And yes it is a general rule to replace the lid if it goes down. After the first impact the helmet looses it's shock absorption ability. This is also covered in the riding class. Buying used helmets is a big NO NO! |

the reason you replace a helmet is because after an impact the fome on the inside of the helmet gets compressed and wont reexpand. causing the outer part of the helmit to shatter if another impact occurs in the same spot. They say your supose to replace the helmet even if you just drop it from about waist high. (if we all did that we'd have more money into helmets then or bikes!) but I guess its better to be out a couple hundred bucks then a vegetable!!!!! I have an ICON helmet and I like it a lot. plus they make some pretty mean graphics. harley makes a full faced helmet made compleatly out of carbon fiber! expensive but really light! looks pretty F-in sick to! glad to hear everything is ok! and if you want to change to translucent orange let me know, I have a full set of plastics.} |

The is Procaliber in Vancouver is very nice, I think I was there in October. If you ever go up to Renton there is a huge dealership that carries lots of brands: bikes, atvs, watercraft. I think honkawsuzyam and also some choppers(Titan?, Saxon?) and the owner also has taken over the Harley Dealership in Tukwila, which I believe they are going to move into Renton also.(possibly expand the building) If the Buells are housed next to jap brands then I wonder if they would get better sales. I don't know the name of it but it is next to IKEA. |
