I am all for Wild Wings. never been there before. I got caught in the rain tonight on my way home from work. Didn't rain all day and then started just as I left work at 5:00. Took me 1.5 hours with all the backed up traffic. All I can say is my gloves suck in the rain. |

The parking lot for Wildwings is behind the mall, turn on Venetian off of Stucki. I didn't realize that road existed until I walked up the stairs. I kept thinking to myself, "Self, I should be riding.", But then when I came back home @ 4:45 to 5:30 I was glad I was not on a bike. You must of had old man hands when you got home. |

Actually very red hands. It's always seems to be a 50/50 chance on the weather. The time I don't ride I wish I did and the times I do I wish I didn't. Oh well, I am sure it will happen again. Can't bring myself to leaving it at home if the mornings look nice and temps get up in the 40's. |

If memory serves, there is a lot of sidewalk space to the right of Wildwings door. Seems a perfect spot for a few Buells. I'm still in the "don't want to get the bike that dirty" phase. I'm sure by this time next year I'll be over that, but not yet! I've got to get a look at the "Buell approved" cleaning cloth for this too. I have yet to wash her, and am holding off until I know I wont scratch the translucent body work with my rag. Sunday still look good? Weather report says "Slight Chance of Snow Showers" |

There is lots of Buell parking right in front. Aron, I'll be home this afternoon and tomorrow if you want to cruise out to hear the Drummer, maybe sneak out for a bit if the roads thaw. LOL 503 720 8037 cell Cord |

The Weather Channel says 10% chance of precip. I wish it would be warmer than 39. http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/97123?from=hrly_topnav_undeclared (Message edited by buellballs on January 11, 2007) |

39 I can deal with. 31, not so much... If today is any measure, it'll be a safe ride by 1:30 or 2 in the afternoon, watch the shadows and bridges. Anyone considering re-maping their ECM? VDSTS or DirectLink? Is anyone at Paradise or Latus trustworthy? |

i've talked to roc over at paradise about directlink - he's a pretty cool guy to deal with and i think they have the proper tools to hook you up. If you give him a call, i'd like to know what you find out (my new drummer just came in this week, and i'll be installing this weekend - can't wait!)since i might also be remapping my ecm. Also ordered new crossroads clipons from Al, and those should be in tomorrow - so this weekend will be a big one to get some stuff done on my bike...and then it's time to ride! |

We are planing on meeting at Buffalo wildwings in Hillsboro. Let us know, one way or another we shall have to make some turns together! |

Paul, when I talked to Rocky he said he was the guinea pig for testing direct link at Paradise. He has some good input. He also says that the mechanics there are good. When I did my 1000 mile service I took it to Latus because thats where I bought but I will not go back. I don't think they adjusted everything per spec. Since then I have done all my own work and I also have VDSTS so I can check engine error codes and do my own TPS resets. However after talking with Rocky I will most likely give Paradise a chance at my 10K mark because I am not all that excited about changing my own fork oil. As far as washing, I have been using Honda Pro Polish and Wash spray. No water needed. I just spray it on and use the Blue shop towels to wipe it clean. It washes and polishes all in one. Works great on bugs as well. takes them right off. Cord, I would love to stop by but I don't get home until 6:00 pm Monday - Friday. Toby, welcome on board. Philip, with a good coat and riding pants 39 is not bad. I agree 31 is a bit cold, even for a Swede. |

I'm not worried about the 39 degrees, just always wanting better than what I got. This ride will be much better than riding a Sportster with no windshield in 35 degrees. By my first fuel stop I was so froze up I almost dropped the bike(not my bike) because my legs were not working. Welcome Toby. All you guys need to hurry up with the exhaust and ECMs so that Paradise will have it down pat by the time I get my goodies. |

Toby, Drummer should be easy. I hear you need a third hand for the straps. I've never tried the crossroads, but love the look of them. what part of town are you in? |

Hey folks - a little late joining this PDX group, but then I'm down in Salem and we're just a little slow compared to you Big City people. No riding for me until the weather improves... it's a long ride up the valley in freezing conditions. But definitely count me in for Spring rides! Mark |

Hey, I moved from there back in July and kind of miss it. Of course when your previous house is 100K less and better than your current home it is hard to not like it. I have only seen one XB(red firebolt) down there, do you know of any others? I like the pic next to the czysz van. Have you seen that thing run yet? |

Yeah, can't complain about house prices down here in the valley, especially now that builders are including indoor plumbing! Not too many XBs here... I see maybe one or two a month during good weather. Guy at a local watering hole had an XB12R parked outside most days last 2 years, but it finally vanished before end of summer, replaced by a cruiser (IIRC). The czysz parked next to me during a PIR track day, but Mr. CZ was riding his MV Agusta F4S. Still, it's some home town pride! |

Hey Mark! Welcome. I'm sure spring will bring a nice ride or two to get together on... I had a 2 PM meeting in Tualatin, so I swung home grabbed Scarlet and hit it. Roads were good for the most part. I took it nice and easy, a few patches of ice but the roads are bone dry where there isn't ice so it's easy to spot in plenty of time to move to the other side of the lane. Again, shadows, bridges and a few spots that seem to exist for no reason at all. Unless we see any more snow, I think conditions will only get better for our ride Sunday. |

Hello Julie. We are meeting at 1:30 on Sunday. It should warm up a bit by then. Once we meet up the plan was to take ride to Paradise Harley to check some of the sale items they are having this weekend (up to 75% clothing items). After that I am not sure what the plan is. I guess we can decide once we meet up and see how the weather is holding up. |

Hello Mark, This group is starting to grow. Should be fun when the weather warms up and we can put some longer riding plans together. So what does "lightly demo'd NOS" mean? |

Welcome to the board Julie, I think thats five from Hillsboro now. Is that enough to get a Buell demo day in the Intel parking lot? Hats off to Paul for getting this going. |

Swede- "Lighty demo'd" means the bike had a couple hundred miles on it, and had sat at the dealership for a year, when we bought it for too much money from Paradise! I imagine a dealerstaffdude (or -dudette) thrashed the bike a bit when it first arrived. Bought the XB9SL for my wife, who was starting to ride (bike fit her perfectly)... too much torque and twitch for her, though. Bought her a Beemer instead, and she's got 10k+ miles solo experience over last 2 seasons. So the XB's my "fun" bike... great way to go get that gallon of milk we need, or random track day (I'm typically the only old, fat guy on a tiny naked Buell). I've modded the bike a bit to better fit me - with regular height suspension, aftermarket shock/spring, different bars, etc. Looking forward to heating the tires with the PDX group this year. |

Julie, yes I have talked with Rocky and I am on his mailing list for upcoming riding events. He said that usually there is not too much activity until the warmer season. Have fun at he B-day party. I know how those can be. I have two of my own. Mark, that makes since I was just thrown by your profile mentioning NOS. Thought maybe you had attempted nitrous. I am still trying to convince my wife to take the Team Oregon course this summer to see if it's something she would like. her since of balance is not great so I am not sure how great of an idea it really is. |

Two hours and counting. Weather looks great! 41 degrees and dry in Beaverton. I'l be at W-wings early, I suspect it will be a madhouse with the game today, but too late to change. Julie, welcome to the board! 7 and counting... |

I will be there as well. Not sure where to park so I will just keep a look out for that Cherry Red bike of yours. I hope to be there about 1:15. Little cooler at my house. 29 in the shade and about 33 out in the sun. Still it does not feel to bad. (Message edited by xbswede on January 14, 2007) |
