Blizzardd PPPPPRoof my arse! Maybe they meant the "blizzards" in the big inflatable snow globes out in the front yard!! 1313 - that's a great piece of art. Lots of talent in that drawing. Glad you're going to MBIV. Hope everyone is doing well. Carlos finished finals tonight so maybe he can get the Uly out this weekend if the weather holds and clear his head of school!!

I went home at lunch and broke in the new brake pads. Instructions say 10 hard stops from 20 mph, 10 hard stops from 40 mph, then let the bike sit and cool. Took me a moment to figure out a place close to home where I could do hard stops from 40 mph and not get run over. But there is a reasonable street thats close enough so I don't have to use the brakes a lot to get there. The 20 mph stops were uneventful. Noticed a lot of front end dive. On the first 40 mph stop my first though was "thats a hell of a lot of dive." Then I realize it isn't dive. My back tire is off the ground. Way way off the ground. Twas sort of cool. |

Mark, is there any need to bleed the brakes after changing the pads? |

Shouldn't we did not open up the system to get air in it. And you bike is not horribly old as to have to flush out the system. |

How early U4? Anybody want to crew for me at the Sandblast Rally on 2-17-07? I can provide food, drink, and an endless supply of laughs at my expense as I get chewed up and spit out the back. You can stay at my house if you want. (Message edited by rubberdown on December 14, 2006) |

Alright folks. Hope you guys can help me out before I try to go to the other side (XBoard)... My colleagues XB12Scg has recently had an intake leak fixed at New River. Before he was complaining about a hesitation (particularly when cold). Now after getting it back, he still feels a hesitation around 2,500-3,000 RPM. Is it possible New River didn't reset the TPS properly? It was fine immediately after he picked up the bike. He's offered to let me ride the XB12Scg while he is in Germany for Christmas, so I am thinking of thoroughly evaluating it and possibly taking it into Shelton's in Goldsboro the first week in January if it doesn't feel right to me. He recently did the 'white wire trick' and it didn't seem to help. Can someone refresh my memory about the 'white wire trick'? I remember reading about it, but since I don't own a XB I 'filed' that info. Since the bike is still under warranty, I'm more inclined to take it to a dealer than to try and hook up with Oldog... Any input/advice/suggestions? 1313 |

U4, Only 3 of those are my biologicals The others we just kind of collected along the way -- except the blond in front of Boog,,,that's his chick. On my immediate left is my smoking hot bride of (almost) 25 years -- Yea, I married up which is much easier to do if you catch them young JimN, The one on the left (as viewing) is my daughter by birth (that's Jen and she's a member of Badweb too.) Jeneatta, on the right (as viewing) has been part of our eclectic group of crazies since she was in 6th grade. On my immediate right is my oldest, Jessie, who is still in search of a holy grail or PhD and will take which ever comes first : You already know my little guy in the back row with me. The medium sized kid in front of me is going to pilot the Team Pumpkin Center racing effort -- hopefully on a Buell and hopefully soon. He's been part of the collective for a number of years too and he's Jeneatta's brother. The little cat with the super sun tan is my miniMe partner in crime -- good kid. They're all good kids and I can't say enough good things about them so I'll shut up. Thanks for putting up with me. G2 (Message edited by bigdaddy on December 14, 2006) |

G2 - great picture! Sounds like your house and ours have a lot in common. We have several surrogate children. There are many days that I don't have an open seat in my Suburban when I leave school. |

Chewed up and spit out? I kinda doubt it! I still remember the lil' blue Buell story. Right now I can't say for sure, datewise, but that is one event I would like to see. I'll talk too you soon Mike. Oh, just checked out the new cyclegear store in Greensboro. Only been open for two weeks. Quite a few good deals, otherwise the pricing is on par with dennis kirk, which ain't too bad. I hope they make it. Nice store...just off I-40 and High Point Rd. Kinda tucked in a small plaza that's hard to see from the road. Will depend on the word of mouth. I walked outta there without spending any money...until after X-mas that is. Need more boot socks. |

What is the plan for tomorrow? Trying to see what day I can get away and ride. Webe and I are going somewhere, but I just do not know which day yet. If its tomorrow I may see if Webe wants to go west. If its Sunday, I want to check out the Jacksonville ride. |

The boss wants it to be Sunday and I was on the fence anyway(like I really had a say, I was lucky to hold ground on one day as it was). She wanted to go out shopping tonight to finish Xmas shopping, so I stayed home with the two little ones. We have had fun tonight. I pulled them in the wagon to the local Andy's a few blocks away and had dinner. Came back and played some B-ball then came in to watch Shrek2 and they both passed out before the movie was over. Long story short, I have a new back tire on my wheel that is riding home from Greenville tonight so I was not able to put it on tonight. By the time I put on the tire tomorrow it will be too late to make it your way at any decent time, so Sunday I will be riding down to Jacksonville and check out this ride they do. It sound interesting and I have been trying to catch this ride for months. Anyway, sorry I will not be able to catch up with you guys this weekend. IMS in January, I am staying home for Daytona this year, but then there is Badness in March, Mud in May and Advance rider in June. Plus as time gets closer and I see what is going on, I would like to crew with you on the rally in June. The Uly will not compete, but sound like something fun to watch. |

Jim - I am trying to figure out the angle with PVC, but I guess you really just mean you like working with PVC alot Big Daddy - I have been either working or doing school projects for the last two weeks straight. I really should not complain, it all turned out okay considering, but I have pulled an all nighter to get it all done. After the projects came finals so I had about a twelve hour break to catch up on sleep and do it all over again. So I have plenty of projects around the house. I have to set up the Christmas tree tomorrow and get the tire on the bike. But Sunday I am due some well deserved R&R. Riding is great therapy, and I could use some about now. |

I just thought I would post because I have not been around on the board lately. I thought work would slow down but I was wrong! Also my family and I are closing on a new house in Hampstead next week and we have been packing and loading up trailers. Fun! This has been the third time this year! Hopfully never again....... Knock on wood. And to top it off my M2 still has a blown shock and the 12Ss is sitting because the Great State of NC lost all of my paperwork to get my tags for it. My 30 day tag was up Nov. 23! This sucks. I hope to be settled soon so I can get to ride with more with you guys. Take Care and hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Carlos - No hidden meanings. I had a job installing central vacuum cleaners when I was in high school. Thtas where I learned to work with PVC. Of course its so simple that "learning to work with PVC" takes about 2 minutes. I find it fun. It's easy to make complex things, and if you screw up, you've wasted $1.50 worth of pipe. |

Mike and U4...great hanging out with you two today. On my way from your house to Durham, I saw two xb12s's on the way. One guy came up on me quick, gave me a "what the hell?" look and waved. He was really hauling it. Man, the beer is flowing big time over here. Good graduation party for my niece. Again, happy birthday U4euh! |
