Holy Crap, 13 miles?? I say everytime you talk about it, CA-RAY-zeeee! Just ribbin ya. Cool how good folks like that do good deeds. Did you see the bike group that left out of Asheboro? 1200+ motorcycles heading to a childrens home!!! Congrats WEBE, what color? Just post some pics and answer all the ?'s at once. Mattl-if you decide to come to this area tommorrow, give me a call early in the morning, I might be able to break free for a while and show you around a bit. I live on the other side of the foothills.910-585-1024 Do you all want to have the jr double play ride at my house again, or does someone else want to host it? I think I am pretty much centered in the state for the entire group, so I don't mind at all doing it again. Had a blast the 1st time around!! |

Do you all want to have the jr double play ride at my house again Yes - But we have to pick the date. Mike is forcing me against my will to play with the Adventure Riders in the mud in May. You know I am going to have to get some dual sport tires on the Uly before then. |

Does that mean May is bad? We did it on my birthday last this year, which is May 13. I've got the kids that weekend in 2007. Is that date good? |

OH MAN!!! I think I'm gonna do this.... http://sandblastrally.com/2007/index.php RALLY MOTO!!! Come on ULY guys. 77 miles of fast sweeping closed sandy roads that you'll probably see 100+ on the straights. That's got to be some serious fun! (Message edited by rubberdown on December 05, 2006) |

Second childhood? Reborn again? Midlife crisis? I guess it could be worse!!! Dates don't matter to me, just long as I know a month ahead a time. M2-I'm soooo sure his got a gun to your head ,forcing you to go Thinking about it myself, on street tires. I don't think where it will be at should be a problem for most of it. There might be some area's that the LOW underbellied XBS may have to avoid. Oh yea and a spare belt! |

U4euh, Thanks for the offer of showing us around. We actually didn't go out today. My riding buddy called me last night and said he just realized his tags were expired. Hasn't ridden in a long time (wife wouldn't let him until he quit his job... long story), so hadn't even paid attention to that. But anyway, he got that taken care of today, and we are hitting the road on Thursday this week. He mapped out a route that heads down into SC a bit, so I'll let you all know how it goes. Hoping to head up to Tilley right now and get some heated gloves. MY HANDS ARE FREEZING!!! And it's going to be 26deg F when we head out on Thurs! |

it's going to be 26deg Have you ever done that before? I've you've got the right gear it's not so bad, but I'd do a test run tonight or tomorrow to make sure you've got what you need. |

Well, I ride about 45-60 minutes to work every morning, and the last week or so has been sub-freezing when I leave. I just bought some Gerbing heated gloves this evening because my hands were freezing, but the rest of me I got covered pretty good. I use an old Buell Vanson leather jacket, Harley FXRG leather pants, regular office clothes under all that, Buell rainsuit jacket over the Vanson, and I got this fleece head sock thingy that fits tight around the head and down the neck, and fits well in the helmet. Now that I got the gloves, should be good to go! I think we're going to wait until about 11 to head out though, and hopefully be back by 4 or 5, so that shouldn't be too freezing. |

I considered waiting to see the Megamoto but I really wanted the HP2 as its an all out phreak dirt bike that's also very capable of substantial distances on the street. Did you see the link on the sandblast rally? Looks like I'm headed there. It's gonna be a hoot. If none of the ULY's are interested, there's some guys from Adventure Rider with KTM 950's that are interested in teaming with me. I'm trying to learn about the rally deal, as is everyone, because this is the first year that the rally series is offering a moto division. I think the plan is to send the bikes out after the cars. The sand ought to be nice and rutted and bermed when we come through. I think the final stages are in the dark. |

Mike, it's linked to a site with hillclimbers in the name so you're probably right. It's from a thread on ADV about sportsters. Amazingly positive comments given the forum. |

Hey C3'ers, I just spoke with the promoter of the Sandblast Rally. If anybody wants to come and help make the USA's first Rally Moto go, now's your chance. It looks to be a lot of fun for all involved. I'm racing it but am going to try to help out too. Spread the word. Course workers, pit help, beer drinkers, ... there's a lot to be done. We've got a one day Dakar/Baja .... in our own back yard (sort of). Looks like I'll be on the bike (let's hope I stay on the bike) from 9:00 a.m. to about 6:00 p.m. I'm excited, can ya tell? http://sandblastrally.com/2007/comp-whats-new.php |
