Thanks Dave I will, but the outside looks fine. I did not take it off the bike though and inspect it. After looking at the position sensor I will do that next. My plan is to look at the position sensor, replace the spark plug wires and try it again. If it still doesn't start I guess start replacing ignition components like the coil. |

Anyone need a good laugh? Check this out. I finally dropped my bike. I hit the starter switch before I got on the bike and forgot it was in first gear. Over she went on the left side. The only damage was the broken rider peg, and pulled the bar end mirror out. I can laugh about it now. Pat saw me do it. At least I had enough nub left to ride it home. I now feel like a real dickhead. |

Twig - sorry to hear it, but you know it has happened or will happen to everyone at some point in time. Glad you are OK and the bike had very little damage. Gotta love it when you have an audience! |

Hey Twig, at the library with Sabrina. She has research for an Honors English paper. I have a extra peg if ya want it. I have narrowed down my starting issues. Short in the kickstand switch, handlebar switch on the clutch side, or nuetral safety switch. I found out last night that if I started the bike while sitting on it with the stand up, she fires over. No matter what gear I am in, the nuetral light stays on. As soon as I put the sidestand down, she kills off!! |

U4 - That doesn't sound like just a switch. Did you check those diodes? - Your kickstand switch is good. - If the neutral switch was stuck ON, then the bike wouldn't care if the kickstand was up or down. Since it does care, and the N light is on, somethings bad in the indicator logic. I think a bad diode could do that. |

U4 you have electronic docs?, e-mail me a copy of the wiring diagram please I may be able to help.. the side stand switch sounds ok based on what you have described. My new one has gone south at 3 months, I think that I am going to put an idiot light on the dash and by pass the ignition interlock Like Jim N has indicated a bad diode No matter what gear I am in, the nuetral light stays on. } If you have time could you elaborate on the symptoms ? Brankin Pix Sent.... (Message edited by oldog on November 11, 2006) |

M2nc - hope it is as simple as the wires. If wires are replaced and off color spark persists could be weak or damaged coil. I'll get the brain trust's opinion. and Aydenxb9 good to see you here!! What's this put up the bikes already thing? Brrr. Hope all is well! Oh, might be an xb12r. Don't know right now. I'm told to keep an eye on Buell in January. They are prone to do intros then! |

The bike ran great until I turned the kids loose on it with a water hose. The bike fired fine after we washed it, but then would not start the next morning. |

Sweet! I had the daughter with me or I would have. Have you ridden it yet? I realize you don't have the brakes hooked up, but I'm sure it's tempting to take it out anyway. |

Well can't ride it yet... No 3/4 axle so it is just "sitting" together... No brake brackets No fender brackets No stops on the triple trees(they would hit the tank at will turn) And the forks need rebuilding...if they were a ship they would sink(meaning they leak) |

Got info today on a new stlye Buell for January - also told of ways to win one. It is formated as a XB12 long (54"). Buell calls it Buell Lightning Super TT, XB12STT. It is similar to the City X in styling. Has a rear panel on each side of the wheel. Called supermoto styling. Have the upfront literature in house. |

WOW! 62,000 acres of fun! Welcome to the Sandhills Game Lands. Of course, I'm out "scouting". Gotta go get the sand outta my eyes. O.k., switching wheels now; anybody interested in doing the track day at Kershaw Thanksgiving weekend? Come on, I don't wanna go alone. I'm not completely sure I can do it, but chances are looking better. |

Hit the Sandhills Game Lands two weekends ago running the back roads to Rockingham Drags. Dirt back roads are a blast. Deep sand + Uly + inexperience = dirt nap X 2. I thought it was just the sand at Fort Bragg but have come to the conclusion the Uly isn't intended for single track sand with my experience level. MT-60's helped on the dirt but not in the deep sand. |

Flyn, I rode about 25 miles in the sand today, roads, paths, and trails. You just got to do it to get it and it's fun ('course the HP2 was born to be a desert racer). I bought a hunting license with the gamelands stamp to try to keep from getting in trouble. I have a bunch of maps too. |

I have gone through sand on the Uly with the D616s and it did okay. Sit back on the bike and stay on the gas and it goes. Its a lot of fun but it scares me to think of putting the bike down. FlyUly - Are you running the MT-60s front and rear? |
