Hello, IDave here.; My first post in this section. Does anyone else like long rides? I hate riding for 2 or 3 hours, then calling it quits. I'm interested in 350 - 400 mile rides. I know lots of roads. Anyone interested in long rides? If so, please reply, and let's ride. I'll be happy to lead a group ride, but no 2 hour b.s. rides. I'm in Sterling, VA and love riding VA and WV. Any takers for tomorrow or Sunday? Overnighters are cool too. |

Ras put together a great ride today, I had a blast (on a Cyclone). The weather was great and despite a little traffic the roads held thier end of the deal. I ended up with a little over 170 miles on the day. Not bad for the first "ride". I can't say enough about the hospitality I recieved from a new riding buddy. Thanks for lunch, quite unexpected. We'll have to do it again some weekend before it snows. |

Bullseye, Glad you had a good time, there are plenty riding days left in the year. Hope you can join me/us in future rides. Bad planning going through Thurmont on a festival day... Oh well, it's what you make of it right? Great looking bike by the way. IDave, I am looking for people with good road knowledge as mine is relatively limited. I know this will change the more I ride with good leaders. This is my first year hitting the pavement in search of good riding roads, and I hope to provide fun and exciting routes next riding season. I am interested in getting in touch, let's set something up, shoot me a PM with your info. 350-400mi is a good riding day. |

Rosmonis, Let's roll. Nice to see your interest level is at or near peak. Where are you located? I ride all 4 seasons. Winter is fantastic. Very few people on the good roads, no cops, and no foliage. Clear line of sight. Anytime you're up for a jaunt, let me know. The DC area needs more enthusiastic riders like yourself. Like I said, "let's roll." Anyone else? I know some roads. |

I've got more miles on my '06 than my '03. About 400 or so miles last I checked, guess who's it? |

I'm looking for someone that can weld aluminum in the DC area. My supertrapp is coming apart at the mount and I don't want to spend $400 on a new one. |

I think Fast Lane Cycles in Chantilly, VA can do aluminum repairs. http://www.fastlanecycles.com/ |

It seems like several folks are interested in riding some miles. Cool! This weekend is probably not the best for me to lead a ride as I'm off work for 4 days and I'll already be 'out there', but next weekend is wide open. That would be the weekend of the 28th and 29th. If anyone wants to ride a nice long ride through some of VA/WV's finest, just post up. I'll be happy to lead it, either one day or, if folks are interested, we can do an overnighter. The foliage should be spectacular. Who's in? |

Kryz, I though I spotted your bike at the dealership last weekend. Glad to hear you came out of it "relatively" unscathed. I hope you'll be up for riding soon. Which brings me to tomorrows ride. I don't have anything planned other than hitting some of the roads around Harper's Ferry and maybe making it to Skyline Dr.(haven't been there yet). This is all subject to change of course. If any of you already have plans, can I tag along? Could use the road time... |

Kryz, good to see you and your bike are okay. I took less damage, and my bike took more when I went down. I'm thinking that was the better way to go. Heal quick. Ras, Shane and I are going to ride but we don't know where yet. We road to the Delaware coast last weekend on mostly straight roads, so we are looking to ride some twisties. Not sure if we want to do skyline again tho. Getting sick of riding 66 back and forth. |

I'm open to suggestions...I was checking out the other boards to see if there's anything good going on and nothing is going on. Like you, I'm in a twisty-riding mood. I could always try get Pete's route and we could pick & choose some of those roads. I need to work on cornering. We can meet at Harper's Ferry and take it from there. The only thing is, we have to get an early start, cagers are a problem. "Ooh look at the leaves dear...they're leaves! - Pretty!" AAAAARRRGHHH!!! Are there any good cager-free roads left? I think they are in WV. |

I'll be leaving here in a few minutes (30) to head on down to Harper's ferry for anyone who's interested. I'll be on the yellow XB9Slr. I'll probably stop at the gas station at the bottom of Harpers Ferry Rd. Go up Chestnut Hill rd on to 9 then loop back to 340 before checking out a few roads in MD. andy Hook to Harpers Ferry road and up north. Call me if you want to meet up. I may even stop at Summit Point somewhere in between. |

Lookin to head out Sunday for a short ride, lookin at this thread most of you guys are in for the long haul. I'll probobly stay around Howard county and Ellicott City. I want to run New Cut Rd a few times in both directions. The fastest I can push my "fun" car through there is 25-30 over posted. I'm a bit leary about the leaves though. The rear tire takes a while to heat up now, the other day I flat tracked it up the exit ramp onto 70. I really wish the bottom of my boots were slippery cause it was a bit hairy for the first few feet. I haven't been that far over on the street EVER and turnin right to go left isn't natural with cars around. One more thing for all of the sight seers out there, we are almost at peak for leaf colors specially out west. I'll be takin pictures to send to family that live where there aren't drastic seasons (ie FL, LA etc) Enjoy it! Warm weather is nice year round but you do miss the seasons changing. |

Babired, K passed her MSF course, I just have to get her out, but don't expect to see her on the road 'til spring. It's OK, her bike's been getting plenty of exercise. I think my bike's jealous. We need to hook up so I can hand over those cards back to you. Thank you! -Ras |
