last saturday, our club had a fundraiser for charity. for those of you who made it, thanks a lot for your help. hope everyone had a good time playin' restaurant all day. for those of you that didn't make it, you were missed, and we hope you can make it next time. we raised over $100. instead of giving it to bradford woods, we decided to give it to a local girl who has overcome some major obstacles in her life. she needed a bankroll for a trip to a triathalon, so we backed her....she was surprised and VERY happy. here are a few pix for you to check out :

YAY!!! As some of you know I am leaving Friday for a 9 day trip on the Uly. I am going from Bloomington, IN, up to Ashland, WI too see my Dad, then to the Twin Cities to visit family and friends and then am meandering home. I was just going to follow the Mississippi till I hit the Ohio then follow that to S. Indiana and head back to Bloomington. That seems like the only slightly fun way to get around the lame ass state of Illinois. No offense Hickley's! So the question is (cause everyone posts when they have a question right), is there any thing along that river route that I shouldn't miss? Places to go people to see? Anything??? I will post a small ride report when I get back. I am itching to leave.... BAD |

No offense taken! Besides, we're really from Kansas. (Don't even start!) What additional gear did you end up getting? Have a safe trip! |

Ok...I'm pissed, as some of your remember at the last meeting there were a few mishaps..Unfortunatly mine came at a later time. Ryan and I have something in common..the damn nail in the tire, it must have been a very slow leak. I havn't rode the bike since that weekend, just went out into the garage to warm it up for a nice ride..guess what? yep you got it Fk'n nail Brand new flat tire brand new just got it 500miles ago. i'm going to sell that nail on Ebay...it's worth $300 because that's what damage is has caused. Story of my life... and i've been a good boy..don't get it |

You can plug your tire you just have to use the right kind of plugs. I suggest "Stop & Go Tubeless Tire Repair Plugs" I know guys that have used these plugs during track days with no problems at all. The kit will cost from 10-20$ depending were you get them from. Hope this helps

From what I have heard.... 190's will make the bike handle funny, but I am sure some would notice and some wouldn't. Oh yea. I am back. I got caught in the cold rainy shit end of Tuesday, looked at the weather and decided to book it back. ~2000 miles added to the bike all said and done. Today was cold, 38 in the morning, and 45 by this afternoon. THANK GOD FOR BRINGING HEATED GEAR! I would have been up the creek (you know the one) with out that stuff. Ill post some pics and some details later. |

Yea it is great. I was relatively comfortable riding in the 38 degree weather yesterday. Just the legs got cold. Oh speaking of shot parts I am pretty sure my front rotor is warped. The pulsing is getting worse every time I stop. And my rear tire is close to retirement. I think the high speed long stretches on the interstate are what did them in. I got off the highway last Saturday when I was trying to make time and the rear was gummed up in the middle. |

Wademan...probably the rotor..it should not warp under normal usage on that new of a bike..but mine did too. The 616's wear out the fastest of any of the tires I have had...I am still waiting on the rear wheel bearings..the bike is unrideable ..so no meeting tomorrow. Glad you like the jacket...and gloves...AL |

The Hoosier Thunder Club chapter of BRAG met on Saturday October 14, 2006 at 12:00pm, at Harley Davidson Buell of Bloomington. Present were: Ron Hess Debbie Hess Erin Hitinger Ann Taylor Todd Taylor Wade Huesman Al Luntzel Eddie Relick The club now has teeshirts and patches available. Shirts are $20, patches are $15. There is an ample supply available. So far 5 shirts and 12 patches have been sold. On September 30, the club had a fundraiser for Bradford Woods. That morning, the members met a local girl, Hayley Hawryhirst, who was having her own fundraiser there at the dealer as well. She needed travel money to get to a triathalon for challenged children. After learning a little about her, membership decided to give the proceeds to her instead. At the end of the day, the club surprised her by donating the money to the triathalon trip. She was VERY pleased !! The club had a $165 deposit to the account from shirt and patch sales. The current balance is $565. October 28 is Harley Davidson-Buell of Bloomington’s Customer Appreciation Day. The Thunder Club will be serving dogs, chips, and water to the customers that day. Interested members will arrive as early as 10:30 am. Serving hours will be from 11:00am-3:00pm. The club is always trying to drum up awareness of itself and buell motorcycles. A good turnout of ridden-in bikes, plus the attention grabbing bikes from jeff and ron will certainly turn some heads. It should be a good bike show. Also, be sure to wear your Thunder Club and/or Buell gear. Rich Nance, manager of the parts department, came in and spoke with the members. The dealership is eager to serve the needs of all Buellers. They are seeking the club’s input to be able to tailor the Buell parts department to reflect the owners’ true needs. This includes both oem parts AND aftermarket stuff. He asked that everyone consider their needs and wants, and then to submit any ideas in writing, so that everything can be compiled. The club is starting to formulate the coming year. The December meeting will include a new slate of officers for the coming year. It will complete the first official year of the Hoosier Thunder Club. Thanks to Jeff and Ron, the club is a solvent, functioning organization. It has hosted events, had educational opportunities to learn about all aspects of motorcycling, had some great group rides, and lots of chances to socialize, getting to know new people. The goal of the club is to grow, both in size and in influence. This is the best area for Buells, this is the best dealer, and the Hoosier Thunder Club is THE club. This coming year, there will be a concentrated effort to spread interest in the sportbike (Buell) lifestyle. The goal is more members for the club, and more new Buell sales the sponsor. More people need to be made aware of the opportunities for motorcycling with the Thunder Club. Upcoming for 2007 will be the Motorcycle Expo in February, and the Midwest Motorcycle Swap Meet in April. The club is planning a presence at both events to get the word out to everyone. There is not much Buell support around this state, except for the club and HD-B of B. More people will find out about both at these events. THINK ABOUT VOLUNTEERING FOR THESE EVENTS……. The club is considering hosting a battletrax event to catch the attention of motorcyclists in the area. In December, there will be an announcement about next year’s track day. The club is trying to secure a date for a possible wicked twisty event. It would be great to capture the attention of Corporate, and be able to host an official Wicked Twisty event including these elements. Everyone should be thinking about ideas for events to boost our profile and membership. Ron will be contacting someone at Bradford Woods to find out about scheduling some sort of manual labor session that the club can do to help out their organization. That will happen early in 2007. Keep the afternoon AND evening free on the day of our December 9 meeting. The club will be doing its version of celebrating the season by going to a local watering hole and having some fun. More to come…………… The next meeting of the Hoosier Thunder Club chapter of BRAG will be on November 11, 2006, 12:00 pm, at HD-B of B |
