Not sure where the best place is to start this thread, but we'll see what happens here...

The wife and I have been going there now for a few years, on different types of motorcycles – next year we’ll both be there on Buells.

For those of you who haven’t been before, Death Valley, at the right time of year, is an awesome place to go. It offers wonderful desert landscapes, many historical landmarks, and a range of great paved and unpaved roads that will suit most riders, something for all skill levels.

We usually just hook up with the IBMWR folks who plan their trip out there late January.

Next years IBMWR group DVDaze (DVD XII) is scheduled for the weekend on January 27, 2007

More information can be found here - http://dvdaze.org/

So who’s interested?

For those that haven’t been before, or those that have and need a memory jog, here are some pictures from our trip there last year

Cheers
-Jack

I love riding in Death Valley during the winter months.

Are you planning to camp, resort, or casino/hotel (few miles east of Death Valley in Beatty, Amargosa Valley or Pahrump).

Two of my favorite things - Death Valley in Jan and riding Buell motorcycles - perfect combination.

My bro and I just got back from DV today.

We will go back sometime, but getting there in Jan from W WA would be kinda dicey. (snow, ice, rain, ect.)

We absolutely loved Titus canyon. The mine shafts, and the box canyons were awesome.

Great place to ride a Uly.

No doubt I will go back, I just don't know exactly when.

We at ASBN were planning to go in February. What is the best time of year to go?

Jan, Feb, March, April - all good times for Death Valley touring. Problem is getting to and from the Valley - wear your foul weather gear.

Joanne,

It'd be great to see you guys out there - I think you'd both really enjoy it.

FYI – there are also hotel and cabin accommodations (Furnace Creek Ranch) right next to the camp area (part of the same facility) and – all within walking distance of each other – a couple of decent restaurants, bars, a grocery store and the visitor center...

Cheers

hmmm, that's not very much like camping, but sure sounds like fun too! I know Zach would enjoy that option even more than roughing it (he does like his creature comforts...)

Ahh, another great weekend in Death Valley - seems like I was the only Buell there...

987 miles over the weekend - still one of my favourite destinations.

Jack and Cindy:

Nice pictures. Maybe next year you won't be the only Buell in Death Valley.

Tom.
