Brankin, Britt's down here has a City X and although I know you said he didn't want one, they do have a 12SS, both used, both seem to be in great shape, especially the 12SS. The previous owner of it actually works there as a svc tech, he rides a Uly now. |

Jim, Gary's bike ate the voltage regulator as we were about to rail by Killboy.com. We finally got it to Smokey Mountain HD Buell and it was fixed under warranty Tuesday. My Uly fell to the left and damaged no other vehicle. It will be parked so as it can't hit another bike for the rest of this trip. Tank and Gary mentioned the fall to the dealership yesterday and they said all the damage would be covered under the sidestand recall. Maybe I'll ride out there today and see what I can get done. Nuts - At least it sounds like you have a good dealer to work with. You all have fun out there. |

Well I scored me a S3 inverted front end. so I will soon start the preparations to make it a part of the sporty.think I even have a source on a custom front axle so I can use my front wheel. Only challenges now are how to mount my handlebar risers(without comprimising the upper tree structure) and the fork stops/headlight mount. then I am off to a more sportbike like stance. |

Mark, Don't worry about compromising the structure of the top triple tree by drilling two holes in it to mount some risers. The real early S1's (could be just the prototypes, but I think the early production S1's still had them) utilized a S2 upper triple with two large holes to mount the handlebar mounts (with some vibration dampening grommets). On later S1's (and later Buell's) the handlebar mounts were part of the forged upper triple clamp. 1313 |

Anyone heard from u4euh lately? He called Kristi last weekend to say he could not the Salute ride. I'm trying to plan a ride after the meeting Saturday. Carlee had a great time last Saturday because we had several destinations over the day ride. So we rode and stopped five times from 9:30am to 5pm. At the end, she still wanted to ride, so I think I hit on something here. I have been looking through tourist sites for NC but I still do not have anything mapped out. Any ideas? I did hit on Kerr Lake north of Henderson for another weekend. Webe has been telling me that there are great roads up there and in my search tonight I hit on the area. The roads from Roanoke Rapids west to Henderson and on the Virginia side look very interesting. Food for thought. |

What happened Jim? Dunno. He was actually reading a post from Badweb to me when we heard cccrrraaaaaaaAAAACK! Then a loud boom and the house shook. Fortunately, it seems to have missed both our home and the neighbors. Took out a fence, but that might be about it. |

Anyone need any firewood. I hate to see this tree go to the dump. |

Trees are great until you hear that awful crack and then feel the thud! Luckily enough we've not had any hit the house that have fallen. Trees always manage to find a fence though! |

Yea, they found my fence. I've got a guy comming out next week to cut the remainder of the tree down and haul it away. |

U4 - There is enough wood in my yard to make a bonfire that you could see from the moon. Carlos - I've got my kids this weekend, and I can't ride anywhere. But if your out with Carlee in this direction, I'm sure TJ would love to see her. |

So how much wood do you have? Would it be worth a trip with the truck and trailer? lol - I see the pictures don't do it justice. I have more wood than you have trailer. If you want any it's yours. But you'll need a chain saw. (Message edited by jlnance on September 15, 2006) |

Well we just planned for you to have them and meet us at Rainey's house! We're thinking about driving down there tomorrow after the meeting. I left you a message to call us at home. As for the trailer and Boone, looks like I will be pulling the trailer with Mark's Blast, so you can have the other rail! Kristi |

Now I've seen everything! Was very nicely done though with custom fabricated oil lines on the clutch and front break master cylinders.

Hey Carlos, Henderson area is great, but beware of "shortcuts" to Virginia. If you ride up there stay on the main roads or you might be riding on what looks like someone's driveway!!! NC roads are good but you'll know when you've reached VA backroads (at least in that area) due to the fact that they are only 1 1/2 lanes wide. When we went on that 3 day trip after Webe got home and had just got the bike...I saw a sign that said Kerr Lake 'X' number miles that way... we took the shortcut when we hit the VA line we thought we were riding on someone's long driveway. It looked like a bunch of families went together and 'paved' the road. The road was paved but barely! If you go there then you should stop by Kerr Dam. It's a pretty sight. |
