I was too tired to even post last night. Drive 3.5 hours from L-ville to the Robbinsville, unload. Ride 9 hours at the gap and Hwy 28 Load up and drive 3.5 hours home. We did 250 miles, no pucker moments but I did lose the front end in a right hander, did not crash I saved it but never really got scared. Glitch, thanks for riding with me up there and back, next time we will remember some attitude adjustment. Wags, Nice to have you tagging along, so far you are the only one I have rode with on the gap that stays in my mirror!! Barker, It was a pleasure meeting you, see you at the gap again sometime. For those who did not go......you better come next time! |

A Great day indeed. My body is sore today. Glitch, good meeting and riding you. Try not to take any more bees down the back of your jacket. ouch!! Barker, Sorry you went down and glad your okay. Hope you find some leather soon. Sparky, I mean New12r, I had fun trying to keep up with you, you got skills. We had some joker riding two up (passenger wearing shorts) on a TL1000 that did not want us to pass him. 12r got around him after a short drag race but I was stuck behind him. I tailgated him the rest of the way. He was even cutting across to the other lane in some turns to stay ahead of me. I thought for sure they were going to go down. Can't wait to see if Killboy got some good shots of us. Look forward to riding with you guys again. (Message edited by wags on August 20, 2006) |

Inspired by the Cherry Bomb colors that Smokescreen showed me I did a little work to the Nemesis. I added a some Hellfire to it:
All I have left is the Shock. That will be done this week. Good bye yellow. What do ya'll think....be honest! |

What do ya'll think....be honest! I think you need to get out and ride! I can't remember the last time we had a day of rippin it up. You free this weekend? The Dragon. I wasn't feeling exactly "in the groove". Not really sure why (...hum stay up late...leave for the Dragon at 4am...maybe...nah!} but anyway... I just kept my own pace, and watched Wags and Charlie run up ahead. It was a GREAT day and I was enjoying being free, so my pace wasn't up to "usual", I just took it easy, it was fun. Sorry if I kept y'all waiting. Barker, glad to hear you and your riding partner are okay! We need to make a run with a BUNCH OF US! No doubt! When? This time we'll make a run down Buck Creek. Glitch, thanks for riding with me up there and back, next time we will remember some attitude adjustment. Thanks for letting me tag along. Next time... Y'all we need to have a 3% Dragon Run. This could be out next annual event. |

B_S, The pinstripes look sweet. Is that 1/4 thick stripe? I'm in for a Dragon run. How was the traffic? I've just stayed away from the Dragon on the weekends do to the high volume motorcycles, cops. Seems like thats the #1 goal for a newbie "I slayed the Dragon sticker and T-shirt" I'd like to do the Skyway too sometime. I have done that since late 04' That N.C Glitch ride was fun. 675 miles in a day. I'd like to do that in a weekend, it would be easier on the body. Thats still 335+ miles in a day and what a ride. Traffic wasn't bad at all. I only saw two police the whole day. There was a little spill on the dragon while we were there. I say little because everyone was gone and the mess cleaned up before we came back through. "I slayed the Dragon sticker and T-shirt" I got mine! |

Well, I figure I earned my Bad Weather stripes yesterday. Went with a couple of friends. I had trucked my beast up to Ellijay the day before. So we met at the walmart, rode to 60 @ Blueridge and all the way down to 180 for a quick bite at lenny's grill. The goal was: 60 to 180 to 348 to 180 and then they would take 60 down to ATL and I back to Ellijay. At Lenny's it became...hmm It looks like rain whats the fastest way back to Atlanta. I quickly talked them into doing 348 (my favorite road). We get to where 180 meets 129 and one guy goes...I don't know, I'm afraid we're going to get rained on and I know my way back from here...I think we're going to head on... Not to be deterred, I pressed on, over 348, hit 180 at the top end and a mile into it, the heavens open up.I took shelter with some guy on a sportster in a garage that someone was nice enough to leave open through the worst of it(what I thought was the worst of it), then pressed on...missed the turn of towards suches and ended up at turners corner. 1 piece of pie and a coffee later, it had almost stopped...so I cut back over towards 60 and before I'm at the top its a full on monsoon. Stop, gas up at suches wait for it to stop it just gets worse...I wanted to just head back to atlanta but my truck, dog and ipod are still in ellijay so I have to keep heading that way. 248 miles yesterday, I figure a good 75 of which was in a monsoon. Other than the couple of "oh shit" moments I had going down hill when I hit a patch of mud that had washed over the road in a curve, it was a great time to take it easy and enjoy the scenery. I don't think those other losers left in time to miss the rain, so I hope they got wet anyhow. At least I got to appreciate an extra hour of riding. As cool as it was though, I am definitely investing in some rain gear.... |

Rain gear only works if you put it on before it rains(I know from experience). Wags, Jennings is fun, very flat tho'. Let me know the dates and I will get some new rubber for the "Slider" before we go. Duc, Glad to hear you are doing better, keep up the pace! I will have to come up your way and stay the night with BA. This way she can drive the truck and take pics while we ride! |

New12, I bet you could wear through some pucks there! Sounds like the 3%'rs are still having a ball! Stay safe. JIM |
