1313 - The spacer is not in line with anything anymore. It is moving around loose in the center of the wheel. I tried to a line the tube but it still to date I have had no success. Webe is coming over tomorrow and we are going to try to get it straight. But if you are free come on over for dinner. The beer is just beer though with no DR capabilities. |

I took the front tire off the Blast. You actually have to remove the brake pads to do that. Kind of wierd, but not a problem. At least after I went and bought the metric allen wrenches. |

Rubberdown - I talked with my Mom yesterday, she is expecting us on Saturday night. I'm sure we would be welcome on Sunday as well, but I figured we would want the freedom to travel. Are you thinking we will go down to TWO on Sunday? |

M2nc - my thought is the spacer was held in by the pressure of the 2 bearings. I suspect they moved due to the hammer blows. |

Well the girl only said I couldn't date other women ... My mom has found a tent for me. I may go buy one anyway, just so I'll have one. But either way I've got something. |

Man, gonna take a long time to live that one down!!! Oh yeah! That is if the wife with little hands and a wooden spoon is referencing righting the front wheel spacer... I'll leave it at that... 1313 P.S. Does this mean Carlos has a new tube-framed Buell repair technician? Or do I still have a (less frequent) part time job? |

Looking at pic and reading how to adjust, it was simple job.I learned mine was way out of adjustment feels alot better now. I guess it got out of adjustment slowly and did not realize it.My baby (girl) leaves for collage this friday. North Greenville Collage in SC.She is studying psychology, I guess I'll be her weekend homework assignment! |

You know that last time I had her working on one of my machines she put an exhaust system on a car I had, but thought those days were gone after I married her. Of course now you know why I married her, and you thought it was for her assets. |

Whats up with Jim wanting a coil? My daughter mentioned yesterday that she wanted a strobe light. Strobe lights are easy to build and she is excited about us doing it. You can get all the parts you need from Radio Shack except for a trigger coil. They stopped selling the coil in about 1985 even though they continue to sell the Xenon flash tube, which requires the coil, to this day. I can use an ignition coil from a car in place of the trigger coil. It's about 50 times larger, but it works. I was wondering if I could use a flyback transformer from an old computer monitor. That might work to. |

JimN and Oldog - you are too kind! You have to understand, my first car was a 1972 Triumph Spitfire. While it was a fun little car, it was also a guessing game of "what's going to happen today". I was (and still am, if truth be told) impatient and didn't want to wait for my Dad to get home to fix something, so I'd try and figure it out so I could get back out and cruise. Carlos has his bikes, I want another ragtop.............don't want another Triumph, Fiat really means Fix It Again Tony (our mechanic's name!!), but maybe another Mustang.............. |

Can you build a Jacobs Ladder? Yes, they are fairly simple. You need a high voltage source. I've seen one built using the ignition transformer from an gas furncace. The transformer from a neon sign would probably work as well. The ladder is simple. 2 wires in a V shape. The breakdown voltage for air is 25,000 Volts/inch. The minimum spacing on the V needs to be small enough to exceed that. That allows the arc to start. The arc heats the air which is what makes it rise up the V. You need quite a bit more power for an electric chair. Probably one of the power line transformers wired in reverse would do it. Be careful taking it off the pole :-) |

Anybody riding up to the AMA races at VIR next weekend? Sarah and I are still on the fence, but I'd sure like to go. As an aside, I mailed the final payment on my XB the other day. |
