Trailer idea is good so we can throw some tools and I have a set of new tires to throw on there "just in case" looks like I'm coming down with some sort of flu. |

So I got two routes/directions to the dragon from the BRP. Ride to the end of the Parkway. That's Cherokee. Turn right, through Smoky Mtn. Park, to Gatlinburg. Turn left on 321(Ithink)to Foothills Parkway. Rip to 129, turn left. Stop at Deal's Gap store, catch breath, head back the other way. Most direct route from Parkway is to Cherokee, a mile or so, to Bryson City about 15 miles or so, to Robbinsville about another 15 or 20 miles and you are just about to the N.C. side of 129. LOTS closer than the Tenn. side to the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Get a map, it's easy to see what I mean. Don't Miss the drive thru the Smoky Mt. National Park, it probably is your best experience on the whole trip, if you have never been there. I think I'll kick off the trip via I-84 west till Matamoras PA. Then south on 209 to stroudsburgh, hop on I-80 West for just a bit then 33 south. From there its I-78 west to I-81 south which will be the main road till we hit Virginia then its onto more Buell oriented roads. |

Tracker, do you have a truck with which to pull Mike's trailer? And does anyone know if rt 209 in PA has any restrictions (ie. commercial vehicles)? |

yes. The Iron Horse motorcycle lodge is where we are going to stay for the 9th, 10th, and 11th.It sounds like a great place. They have camping, bunkhouse and rooms. Other amenities include: breakfast, dinner, showers, covered parking, fire pit, internet access, big screen tv, garage with lift and games. I called and the lady said reservations are need for hotels, bunk house and camping if you are going to use their tent. There is plenty of bunk and camping space. If you want a room, make reservations asap. They fill up quick. Tell the lady you are with the Buell group. Hope to see you there. http://www.ironhorsenc.com/ |

All of you Northerners interested in going via 81 can stop and pick up Buellers in Frederick, MD. I'm interested in going... The week of July the 15th -18th would be prime. |

Rasmonis, I was just about to post the finalized date tonight, as I hadn't had any other suggestions for dates . I've got about 6 or 7 guys who are pretty well set on going on the 10th & 11th. Are those dates out of the question for you? I'd love to have more guys join us on the way down. How many you got in Frederick? and could they do the 10th & 11th or is that not cool? Please let me know soon, as I want to post the definite date ASAP. Thanks, Fritz |

i think i have 5 or 6 of us going on the 10th and 11th. Yeah unfortunately Rasmonis, I too have 3 guys who have already made plans based on the 10th & 11th. I got a few emails last night about it, and I'm going to have to honor the original dates. SO, THE OFFICIAL DATES ARE JULY 10TH AND 11TH. sorry if this doesn't work for anyone, but I needed to set the dates so that guys (who haven't already) can start making reservations and get clearance for those days off. So, with exactly one month to go, lets work out any details and make this a killer trip! (Message edited by saintly on June 07, 2006) |

Wish I could go, but me and the wife are already committed to 10 days riding in West Virginia in August (not that I'm complaining or anything). Hope you guys have a fun and safe time. MikeXLR650... you did 600 miles on the XL??? How'd that feel? Anybody who's going ask Saintly (or those who witnessed it) to tell you about riding his chopper in a hardcore-through-the-woods Bear Mountain descent last week. I wish I was there to see it. That is the stuff of legends. Steve |

tony, i'm going, i believe hammer will have to pull pretty hard to get the time off (i'll be really suprise'd if he doesn't come through though). saint, if i get done on time tomorrow i'll take care of those leaders after work, don't rush home though you don't need to be there. just want to make sure you don't have an attack yorkie or anything. |
