You guys were mentioning tire choices. I went the ScorpionSYNC route on front and back and have never felt more confident leaned over on a bike. They're sticky. Just got back from Deals Gap where the back tire was scrubbed to the absolute edge and never lost confidence in them. I also like their supermoto inspired compound, they do well in rough road situations as well. Here's a shot of me that was captured by killboy.com on the Dragon...

Well, the Scorp Sync is on the bike. Probably put one on front when the Dunlop wears out, unless handling feels too funky. Then I guess I'll pop for a front tire as well. Hey Ed, if you see this in time, give me a ring. I may head up to the track with ya. |

Pete, Come on by if you can. The 3 hr. race isn't scheduled to start until two. I hope everyone got to enjoy some riding in this weekend. Finally a couple of nice rain free days in a row. On the weekend too. Lookin' good Cory! |

Have fun tomorrow, Jeff. I'm jealous. Can't make it out there this time but perhaps I'll see you during track day. Please post your results when you can! I'd like to see what it feels like to test the machine on smooth surfaces with wide open run-off. The public roads' mailboxes, sign posts, and guardrails have me paranoid these days; no need to push it out there. OK, one more narcissistic pic on the Dragon below. If you guys haven't made it down to Deals Gap, I'd HIGHLY recommend getting there ASAP. Not to see how fast you can ride it...just to experience well-banked curves, beautiful scenery and endless twisties! I go every year and see a handful of Buells amidst any and every kind of bike you can imagine. MIght post some on-bike footage here soon... -corey

Hi everyone, my husband and I are new to the Indy area (Morristown). I think he posted here before we left North Carolina, his screen name is Aydenxb9. I have a question I am hoping someone can help me with. I am trying to sell my '05 Sportster to upgrade to a Buell (so I can keep up with the curves). What I need help with is can anyone tell me a good publication in the Indy area to advertise in. I saw the Auto Trader, but they have several books with different covers and I didn't know if it was all the same book or if it's just so big they have several versions. Then I also saw a newspaper looking publication. So, I'm not sure where would be my best option for getting results. I would appreciate any help you guys can give. We hope to meet you guys oneday. We were coming to the demo ride in Bloomington, but due to work schedules and rain we didn't make it. We were part of the Carolina Corner Carvers (C3) in NC and hope to get together with a new group here. |

Buelletta, I remember your husband posting not long ago. You both are certainly welcome to join us. Our meetings are on the second saturday of each month at noon. As far as a publication to offer your bike for sale in, the Auto Trader is the only one I can think of. Maybe someone else will have a better idea. The Indy Star newspaper might work well for you too. |

Well folks, I just got home from the hospital and everything went well. Now I just have to kick back, relax, and heal up. BTW vikoden and morphine is good stuff. I'm stoned out of my gourd right now. |

Buelletta, The Auto Trader would be a good route (they'll automatically list it online as well), that's how I found my Lightning. Another option is Indiana Auto & RV (auto-rv.com, a popular pub with online exposure, too). Also, my brother just sold two bikes recently through Craig's List; it's free! Both bikes received very quick responses. I'll be listing my Buell '03 XB9SL (yes, a "low") soon if you're interested. Or, if anyone else here is interested, let me know! It has a handful of extras and the Buell Race Kit. (Pete, glad you've gotten your surgery behind you; good luck healing up!) -corey |

Everything went great with the surgery. As of today I no longer need pain killers. I rode a little bit yesterday just to see if I could do it. There is no problem except that I couldnt wear the helmet. Hopefully the swelling will be down far enough by Thursday that it will no longer be an issue. As of right now I am going to Homecoming unless something happens at the follow-up appointment I have on Wednesday. Eddie tells me that he is not taking his bike now, so that leaves Chad and I in our little group. I suppose we might as well just ride, don't you think Chad? You said you wanted to do that anyway. The weather looks ok right now. Ron do you have a route planned for the trip? Oh and I heard from Brad this morning that he wont be coming. More doctors appointments and possibly another surgery. |

Thanks, Pete. No, it won't stream...I'm going to fix that today or tomorrow. Here's a couple more filmed at/near Deals Gap (you'll probably need to right-click and 'save target as' on these, too): Deals Gap area video from my 'Buell Cam' (12.3MB) View from Buell chasing a Monster (14.1MB) |

Ed...what did you think about how to get around Chicago? 94 or 294? |

If we leave Indy at 9:00 we will get to Chicago at 11:00 (One hour time difference). Believe me, driving through Chicago at any time between 9 AM and 9 PM is a full-on adventure. It literally could take three hours just to traverse from the southeast to northwest of the city. I recommend that if you want to go that route, leave at 6 PM. That puts you in Chicago at about 8. Traffic wont be as bad then hopefully. The other choice is to bypass Chicago entirely. The route I'm looking at is I-65 to US30 at Merrilville. West on US30 to Plainfield, Ill. Illinois 59 north to Antioch. Illinois 173 East to I-94. I-94 on up to the campground. |

Indy, just went through chicago and its a mess. The skyway (I90) is pretty torn up, and so is the bypass, although to a lesser extent. there is virtually no commutter lane going north on the south side. |

Thanks Leah! That pretty much confirms what I thought. If we are going to run the freeway we'll have to take I-290, but that probably wont be a good idea either. Not in the middle of the day anyway. |

294 looks best...not too far out of the way, lots of lanes, easy to navigate. |

Greetings All. I have unfortunate news, at least for myself. I will be unable to attend Homecoming. I have a Rider's Edge class I must teach that starts this Thursday, June 1 and runs through Sunday, June 4. I apologize to anyone who were making plans with me, but my work obligations are a priority. Have a safe and FUN weekend and I'll see everyone at the next meeting, June 10. Thank you |
