There is a C3 sticker on the Buell truck. That's supposed to be our little secret!! I wonder if anyone has found it yet and knows where it came from........ |

Well Laura went and ground on the Blast and it turned out great! took all the un-used tabs and stuff off her swingarm, cleaned it up and had it powdercoated in Satin black to match her peg mounts. here are links to the pics, maybe Jim can insert them into a post for me http://www.turbotimelounge.us/albums/buenagirl/aca.jpg http://www.turbotimelounge.us/albums/buenagirl/abz.jpg http://www.turbotimelounge.us/albums/buenagirl/aby.jpg http://www.turbotimelounge.us/albums/buenagirl/abt.jpg http://www.turbotimelounge.us/albums/buenagirl/abu.jpg Really proud of her on this one, all I did was fetch tools and steady the bike for her...she did all the work from dropping the old parts to using the 1/2 inch drive torque wrench on the pivot bolt ans the axle nut!. Oh and she want to give special thanks to a couple Badwebbers that made it possible! you know who you are.... (Message edited by sportymark on May 27, 2006) |

Andy, Got what I think was your second PM while checking E-mail at Dave's new stomping grounds. Schedule looks great. Let me know about Thursday. Which Buell are you bringing? Mark & Laura, I will check out the pics once I get to my parents house later today/tonight. It all depends on how soon I collect my motivation - but it is only 300 miles or so from here - small change compared to yesterdays 720-plus... 1313 |

Ride safe Brankin, wish we were there with you. Kristi,Carlos,Jim, and of course TJ & Carlee-sorry we couldn't make it. Escorted our 4th grade class to Ft. Fisher on Friday. After the air conditioner quit working on the way down there, then having to transfer buses mid-day, then getting stuck at an accident on 74 for 2 hours during a 'Storm of the Century'(which by the way had every child screaming for mommy) we didn't get back to the house till very late. I was asleep before walking through the door. Didn't wake up till 10:00 on Saturday and felt like I had a hangover. One good thing came out of it though, I got a free pair of tickets to the Busch series Nascar race on Saturday night. 1st time ever and it was pretty cool. I learned 3 things this weekend: 1st-don't stand in the restroom while bus is in motion, they had a sign stating this, but I was curiously staring at it as I bounced around the 1ft by 1ft stall. 2nd-bring ear plugs to a Nascar race. Don't worry about talking, they can't hear you any way. 3rd-leaving early from the race doesn't work. The Leo's have all roads blocked except the one's that take you 2 hours out of your way. You know the saying, around your A$$ to get to your elbow! This was a fine example. |

Hey twig at the parent/child ride two weeks ago you told me how your upgraded 03 belt broke at 600 miles. Guess what mine broke today at work!! I put it on 2 days before we met and rode the P/C ride then to MB about 1000 miles and it broke!my old belt had about 10000 miles on it! I changed for piece of mind what a joke!!I bought mine from the same dealer you bought yours from in Dec but waited till I put on a new rear tire to change it.I guess A 04 06 up grade is next!I wonder if buell had a bad lot of belts? The brake on mine looks about like yours. |

Hotrats - That is where Kristi's dad has his cabin. Great roads in the area. We need to have a weekend trip there one weekend. Rubberdown - By September you will be a C3 member again. That is when the 2007 models come out. Sportymark - Now that is the way to shine up a bike. Looks great Laura, when can bring the Uly over? |

Glenn...real sorry to hear about your belt. That sucks. Must have been a bad batch. I bought mine in Jan., and I waited a couple of months before I installed it. I just got back from Laurel Springs, near Sparta NC. Went up early yesterday on a whim, and stayed at station's inn bike resort. Harley riders in and out all day long. The big parking lot across the street stayed full of bikes all day long. I'd never seen so many empty beer bottles in all my life. Man, what a rowdy crowd! Glad to be back home. |

Haven't posted in a while, just been busy working. We took my day off and went to save a puppy at one of the shelters in Kinston. Here's the newest member of our family. We know the mom is a shepherd, but they didn't know what the Dad was, we looked at all the puppies and we think the Dad was full blooded German Shepherd as well.

Hey all, "Defector Director" here. Thought I'd pop on and say hi! Things here are going well. We're settled in and life is beginning to return to normal, well, as normal as it gets for us. I've changed jobs, I gave up the dump truck thing due to all the wet weather we've had here recently, there just wasn't any money being made and right now that ain't gonna work. For the time being, I'm working at a Keihin factory in Greenfield In. that builds intakes, throttle bodies, and fuel injectors for Honda cars. I'm on a cool but grueling schedule that has me on 2, off 2, on 2or 3 more. The shifts are 12 hrs long but I also have a 3 day week-end every other weekend, -but- I also work every other weekend. It gives me a consistant schedule s I can look for something more lucrative and permanent. This past week I've finally been able to put in some time on the XB. I've done some exploring of Indy which has become a really cool city. Last Thursday I rode over to Speedway to IMS to take in the IRL circus for a while then on to Clermont In. to IRP and found several racing operations near by. There's a business park development something like in Mooresville NC that houses a lot of manufactuers and teams. One "park" was almost nothing but sprint and midget teams while another park was NHRA teams. There were two "stand alone" shops, that of Don Schumacher Racing, and the other was the Vance and Hines team shop. V&H was a "no visitors" place but DSR let me hang out in the lobby so genuflected before all-mighty Top Fuel Hemi in Tony Schumacher's Army digger and drooled over Angelle's and Antron's PSB's, since Angelle wasn't there to drool over. On the way back that day going back through town, one of the local Triumph dealers had the Triumph demo truck there. I swung in wanting to get a taste of the Daytona 675, but when one of the Demo staff started dogging Buell, I let him know what I thought of that tactic and Triumph might have just lost a sale. I like bikes, and I really like my bike. Then I hopped back on my lowly Buell and rode off, happy as a clam. Today, I was off and took a ride to Metamora In. The town was platted in 1838 and was a stop along the Whitewater Canal from the Ohio River to central Indiana. It's a cool place full of history that has become a tourist attraction. It does have the last remaining functioning aquaduct in the United States, that was cool. But what was cooler, were the roads in the area. US 52 which by the way is the road we live on now gets to be very scenic as you get further east in the tate as it winds towards Metamora, Brookville, then on to Cincinnati. Right before Metamora, Indiana 229 becones heading south towards Oldenburg then Greensburg. It's a GOOOOD road. You know it's going to be fun when within a 1/10 of a mile after turning on it there's a big yellow sign telling trucks don't try it It hen shortly after that turns into a cork-screw that doesn't disapoint. It runs ten mile to Oldenburg which has so much German background that all the streets and businesses are in German. My family has a connection to that town also I just learned. The Sisters of St. Francis order has their college and convent there and my great-grandfather is (was) their benifactor. When the convent was being built in Oldenburg, my family housed the nuns in Cincinnati. It was cool to look at something so enduring and to think that your connected to it in some way. Then as I was leaving town on 229 heading back toward US 52, I almost get run over by a nun Heading north from 52 is Indiana 121 to Connersville In. Not as tight as 229, but still a fun, fun road, it actually had some really surprising twists and turns and a couple of places where the tires left the ground,yee-haw!!! Connersville is the home of the defunct Cord/Auburn/Duesenberg company and now the museum. I didn't find it today but got to look at the excursion trains of the Whitewater Valley Railway which runs between Connerville and Metamora. It's my understanding that there's a bunch more roads down closer to Brookville and next time I'm that's where I'm going. Glad to see that C-3 is going strong. The C-3 Jr ride looks like it was a gas. It's obvious that the kids enjoyed themselves! Riding the ferrys are always a good time and one of my favorite destinations for a relaxing ride is Oriental. I'm gonna miss that Ice Cream shop. I'd go there, get a cone, and sit on the end of the dock across the street and just watch the world go by and think. Very peaceful. David, cool puppy-pound puppies make the best pets, both of our dogs came from the Kinston Pound and are without a doubt, the best pets we've ever had. As a matter of fact, Hayley is laying at my feet right now. Thanks for saving another one David. Well, gotta go for now, wake up is at 3 AM, Dave |

Southern - good to hear from you! What a cute puppy! Hope all is going well. Since I saw you last, the group has now decided to not collect dues, so remind Carlos that he owes you your $10 back! Also ask him for a C3 decal. They turned out really well. The children really like their C3 jr. decal. Thanks again for such a great design. Let us know if you're coming this way again. Would love to have you over to the house. |

US 52! US 52! What a welcome break it was from the Super Slabs getting up to Indy on Saturday! If the roads off of it are any better - you are damn near in heaven! Many thanks Dave, for the place to stay Saturday night (even though we never got a chance to hang out, or ride...)! 1313 |

Brankin, How far did you go down US52? Did you go all the way across Virginia and West Virginia? The next time I go, I am riding I-81 to Marion VA and take VA-16 up to West Virginia to US52. That is the most awesome road I have ever been on, even better than the Dragon. Instead of 11 miles, its more like forty. John was saying over the weekend that roads that switch back and forth all the way up and down the mountain are old wagon trails that were paved and I believe it. Any Brankin, have a ball and if you feel adventurous, turn off of I-64 onto US-52, then turn onto WV-16 south to Marion VA and I-81. You will not be disappointed. |

No problem on the decal. I enjoyed playing around with it. Quite a few pitched in on the idea. I'm heading to Dallas on the 12th, but I'm trying to make it to the NRHD Anniversary next week on the 10th. I just hope I don't have to work. |

Saw 2 deer coming back to my parents place tonight. One of the SOB's couldn't figure out if it wanted to come out into the roadway and play or go back into the woods and hide. After a little convincing with my throttle it decided to do the wise thing and go back into the woods. The real good news is that the rain is gone. Last night, to satisfy Larry (yeah right, it was to protect my sunburnt scalp) I wore my (full face) helmet to protect my head from the rain. Could have used it tonight as after the rain stopped the temp dropped considerably - as it does in areas with 'normal' climates. Tomorrow Hotrats should arrive and I have a dinner engagement (with an old pal from the factory) at a Mexican restaurant in Waukesha. I sure hope Hotrats (and better half) like Mexican... How far did you go down US52? Ummm, I went up US 52...After getting off I-74 just after arriving in Indiana. My time schedule (725.7 miles door to door) did not allow me to 'play' on the way up. Depending on how far I make it Sunday on my way back, though, that may be a different story. 1313 My after bar pizza is calling, so I gotsta go... |

Hi Dave, Good to hear from you. The rain you had yesterday is over us today. Just as well as I have the kids today because Kristi's Dad is in the hospital and she stayed with Joan over night at a hotel close to Duke Medical Center. They are still trying to figure what is going on with one of his kidneys and it seams he will be there until at least Tuesday for testing. Dave, have you had a chance to get up with the Buell riders up there? Mike, one of these quick trips I am going to go with you. The unplanned trips sometimes are the best. As I said, no riding for me this weekend. Big Daddy, how's the Uly? |
