Pete, I believe he's stumped on the problem and that was the best answer he could come up with at the time. I let Nick have my ECM for the week to test it out. We'll see what happens. How much gear are you bringing for Monday's shoot? We may be able to help you bring it. We are going to have to make a trip back home to let Mordor (our dog) out for his morning activities. Not getting much of a response on the overnight thing so we should have room for your gear. LMK. -Ras |

hey pete, i live like 8 miles from summit point and a paded laptop backpack (lots of padding) with a cd/dvd burner, i can bring it and just burn them to a cd or dvd, my laptop takes smart media, secure digital memory stick, if your camera is compact flash, you can just bring your camera software and cable. |

Hmmm.. That's a pair of interesting offers guys.. thanks.. Yes, it's compact flash (only have 2gb at present need to get more) Let's see.. for the bigger shoots, I usually bring: Camera, 4 lenses: 50mm, 24-70mm, 70-210mm, 200-500mm. Filter set; for the 50mm (if you wanna get creative in the camera) Flash unit: this is a supplement to the built in and provides much better coverage for larger or more detailed subjects and can also be 'aimed' for different effects (not used for action shots) Memory: 2 - 1-gb compact flash cards Batteries (2) & charger, Card reader and cable Portable desk top (17" screen) Cleaning products Monopod, Something to lay on ( usually a jacket or some such) Change of shoes (really needed if it's muddy) Cowboy hat (don't ask, it's a tradition that I wear a hat when shooting..) Notebook, Pen, Water, Small towel(s), Smokes, Lighter.. OK, I'm getting carried away now.. LOL.. If I cut it down to camera and two lenses, monopod, memory, reader & cable, batteries (no charger), shoes, hat, notebook & pen.. Add CDs to the list for Christian to burn, Hmmmmm.. I may be able to get all that into my back pack securely. Christian, do you have 'IrfanView' (photo program)on your laptop? If not, it's freeware that we could use to view slide shows and I can shoot in JPEG instead of NEF (loose a little definition, but not so's you'd notice unless you wanted to go BIG PRINT think poster size) Shooting JPEG also allows us to just transfer from memory to computer to disc pretty easily. The reader is of course a USB device so shouldn't be a problem. I can also probably bring 10/12 cds.. Each shot I'll take will run about 3meg in JPEG (as opposed to about 5meg in NEF) This could turn into quite a production. Are you guys sure you want to get tied up with me like this? Like I said, it's an all day affair if I'm doing it right.. |

Christian, That sucks! I hope you are well and off to a speedy recovery. Peter, I can bring my laptop and a 120 Gig external hard drive if yo need some help. The battery on the laptop is good for at least 3-4 hours of hard use. I will be driving up on Monday so let me know. |

Damn Christian.. How bad is the break? I see you're up and typing on the web, so it can't be so bad that you're drugged up.. Mandatory question - How's the bike? If you can get up and about on Monday, maybe you can cage over and still watch some of the racing? Oh and for what it's worth, a buddy of mine went down earlier this year and managed to milk quite a lot of 'sympathy' from the local riding ladies.. just a thought.. Let us know if you need anything, maybe one of us can help out.. |

DOH! Sorry Mark.. I guess with the roar of engines etc. I didn't get a good fix on your mild accent. Please don't take offense as none was meant. As for being a Kiwi.. well, I've seen some lovely things come out of that island and have always thought that some day, I'd love to go riding there.. Perhaps, if it ever happens, I'll hit you up for some good roads/stops/area or just general help.. hehehehe.. Anyway, good to see you here online.. Are you going to make it to the races? One of these weekends, we'll need to get together and put on a few miles. |

This weekend at Summit Point Main. ASRA/CCS are having one of their events there. I'll be there on Monday taking pictures. It'll be a pretty good day, I hope. There seems to be a bunch of Buellers heading up there to show support for the Buell racers that will be there. |

Triton, If you're interested, we're riding to Summit Point Sunday morning. I'll be camping at the track overnight. You can meet us at HD/Buell of Frederick after 9:30AM, I'd like to leave around 10AM. Peter: My offer still stands, let me know where you want me to meet you Monday morning if you want to bring you additional gear. Maybe we can swing by Chris' and pick him up on the way in. I just got off the phone with him, he said his bike actually came out of it ok with minor damage - can't say the same for the truck he hit and his leg. |

Sorry to hear about Chris, that sucks! We should try to either visit him at the hospital, of if he's up to it, get him to the track on Monday to watch the races. |

Jose, I offered to pick him up for Monday, he's going to call me sometime this weekend. I hope he's up to it. Is anyone from Ft. Washington camping at the track? Looks like I'll be the only one from Frederick staying overnight. Not sure on the headcount for Sunday's ride. -Ras |

Something must be in the air cause I just finalized a deal on a new bike for me! I am selling my 2005 Bolt to purchase a 2003 XB9 that is set up for track/race.
I will be riding on the track primarily and this is already setup perfectly for it. I will be picking it up within the next 2 weeks from Long Island NY. |

The paint is cool, but it will be changed as soon as I get it. Hopefully by next weekend it will make it's way to my garage, and then it's off to a bunch of track days for me! |

Hey Twintour, Sorry but the Drummer and ECM are going with the bike. I really wasn't planning on getting rid of one and getting another so soon, but the opportunity was right. I won't be riding much on the street anymore, but will join you guys when I can. Just enjoy the track too much. Mio |
