I come up that way to see cyclegear and Crossroads HD on occasion. I am looking over the possibilities for this weekend. |

Hi all, Im looking to buy either a Ully or a Lightning and am in need of assistance. There aren't any dealers around any more so I don't have the option of sitting on one and finding out which bike would fit me best? The Ully looks practical but the lightning is where my heart is. Could I maybe meet one of you how has one of these models to help me figure out which one I should be looking at? No test ride will be asked for. At 6' I'm in that range of can't be to scrunched up but love the look of the lightning. The Ullys nice but I'm concerned I may not be happy with the tall saddle? I'm in the Mechanicsburg area in Pa. Thanks |

If your still looking for a Lightning I have a beauty for sale. Pics and details on badweb. I don't know where Mechaicsburg is but I'm in Aberdeen MD just north of B'more. Fred (rockfish) @410 272-2820 |

I've owned both, and really liked both. My XB9SX would turn on a dime, and you could pick any line through any turn at any time. And the sound of that motor through an open airbox at 7200 RPM is the sound of happiness. It was good for 500 mile days in a pinch (you would feel it, but you could do it) with stops every 100 miles or so. Luggage or passengers could be put on there when necessary and important, but both had to be adaptable and of good humor. That XB9 motor was the most simple, low maintenance, and reliable motorcycle motor I have ever experienced. It is a great bike. When my wife and kids all expressed interests in riding with me, and as I rode more often and under more circumstances and carrying more things, I elected to sell it and get a Uly. The Uly is wonderful also. The grunt off idle of the 12 motor is very nice, as is the better fuel economy the bigger long stroke motor delivers. I got a Uly with side bags expecting to only use them for trips, and it took me about 4.5 minutes to figure out they are useful all the time, and I've not ridden the bike without them since I got them. The seat is good for 180 miles at a stretch without even being that uncomfortable, and two up with luggage is comfy and cozy for everyone. The triple tail is brilliant and convenient. So both bikes are great. The Uly is more useful under more circumstances. The XB9 lightning is by far more reliable. The pre 08 12's (particularly the 07's) have a low but real risk of crank failure (low risk but high cost). I'm 6'2" and won't fit on many bikes (including an SV650), but the 9sx fit me like a glove. I probably looked like a monkey on a football, but in terms of how the bike felt and worked it was perfect. So I'd say you wouldn't go wrong with either bike. And a good XB9S for $3000 is about the best bike for the money of anything of any brand that I can think of that is on the market today. |

Hi guys! I recently moved from Md. to Waynesboro and wanted to say hello. My first Buell was a 2005 XB12scg that I had for 2 years. That ended with an unfortunate opposing sideswipe with a mini van on a mountain road and a helo flight. I now have an 1125CR that I got about a month ago and I am loving being back riding again. Hope to see you on the road. (Message edited by old_guy on August 29, 2012) |

Just adding my name to the PA gang. I see Toona is near by and a few others in Lewistown & Sunbury. Been on here for 2 yrs and just noticed the Storm fronts section. Hope to get together, do some riding and share some story's. MM |
