Carlos - I really like that 2nd picture. The form is great. You're off the seat and looking into the turn. Did you see the photographer? |

Uh oh,,,"gives it to my son." Hadn't thought of that possibility. I'll let you know about the comfort versus the tubers. It's very hard for me to imagine a bike that fits me better than the M2. Feet on the passengers pegs, 50+ MPG, just rolling for hours,,,,we'll see and I'll report (assuming that thing's mine :-) .) |

You're gonna cry when she gives it to your son! JimN -- you and I had the same thought! Bigdaddy -- Glad your Daddy is doing well. He'll get stronger each and every day. I marvel at my Dad and it's only been 3 years since his by-pass. Looks like the C3 Jr. Ride is coming along nicely. You guys will have a great time. Kristi

1313-50 bucks if you put that, and that only, on and ride around Myrtle Beach during the rally this coming May. Speaking of, you gonna be down there all week? |

I have never wanted to work on a bike before. It's always been out of necessity if at all. But this is fun. Here is the donor muffler. It was covered with rust. I managed to find a sanding disk for the drill and cleaned it up.
Then I put on a coat of high temp paint. My painting skills need a little work, I've got a few drips. But I think it looks pretty good in general. A couple more coats and it should be good to go.
I ordered some parts from Dave S today, including new header studs. Taking out the old header studs is going to be interesting. |

Sweet Jim,,,,I love to use some BBQ paint,,,,cheap, resilient, covers most everything, and cheap :-) The Uly was mine and now it's really mine,,,Happy Birthday to me, etc, etc, etc. Put 150 miles on it this evening,,,,not enough to form any kind of opinion and I can't really wind it up and check it out, but very soon I'll get it there. Now, I gotta make plans for the next few events. G2 |

I thought it was quite profound this morning:
U4euh, Funny you should mention MB. I heard today that this will be the last time Bike Week will be in MB. It is supposed to move to Charleston from what I was told. Don't know how reliable the source is, after all he did want to get XB heads for his '06 Sporty (which already has XB heads from the factory...). I've never gone down there for the whole week, usually just a day trip down there and back. But since I found the real hot spot to party - the real big Suck, Bang, Blow - I now have a hankerin' to spend more time in MB. Your proposal sounds like an instant trip to jail with the MB anti-nudity laws, and I would have to be more than legally drunk to do something like that. Maybe I should just have some onions earlier in the day and that way nobody could stand to get close to me. Oldog's proposal sound more like my cup of tea. In fact, since the wild women want a pic of me wearing that thong I might just have to take a pic with it on my head. Nobody said where I had to wear it...

So Sportymark ... How are you with header stud removal? I decided to quit trying before I broke it off or rounded off the jam nut. |

I have a kid that works for me and he's from that area. He said that MB has been and will continue to crack down and ticket you for loud pipes and whatever they can when it comes to bikes. Well, it looks like I will be going for my interview with the Farmers Branch Police Dpt in Dallas, TX in June, the 16th to be exact. Hopefully it all works out. |

So one Stud is boogered up? We can see what we can do... |

Well they are both boogered up, but this one is definitly the bad one. It took a lot of torque to get the nut off. I got the header off and then put the nut back on backwards so that the flared out side was tword me. I threaded enough so that about 1/4 inch of thread was exposed, and then I put another nut on there so the flared parts matched up. I put the socket wrench on that nut and a wrench on the inner nut and jammed them together. Or at least I thought I did. I thought the stud was backing out, but it turned out that both nuts were turning. There isn't much room to work. My backwards nut is still on there and it doesn't really want to turn anymore. Since it's backwards, I cant get a socket on it so I'm leaving it there. When is good for you? I'll make dinner for you if you like. I've got a new Jerk Chicken recipe. |

Hey Jim, Yeah I was looking at the Camera during this Picture. The Muffler looks good. Brankin, You really should stop playing with ladies underwear. It like Pot, its the starter cross dresser! Big Daddy - Happy Birthday!!! Southern - Good Luck! By the way, did I read somewhere that you high-sided the Firebolt? U4euh - What Old Dog said. Man, you should give warning next time. I'm afraid to go to sleep know. |

Yep, I pulled out of work and for some reason my rear tire wanted to keep going out. It finally caught and I started to fly. Luckily I was able to hold on, clench down and get control of the bike before losing it. I immediately pulled over and checked my rear tire, looked back at the spot where I pulled out to see if i had missed something, like oil, sand, etc... When I pulled out I didn't do anything I don't normally do. The only thing I can think of was that the weather was colder than it was when I went in, the temp had dropped. My cold tires, loss of traction, still not sure why it did it. I'm just glad I didn't get thrown off and lay the bike down. I do know this, it woke me up and I have been more careful since then. |

Bigdaddy -- Happy Birthday! I think your wife will like the Uly as much as you do if she rides with you. So which color did you get? Southern -- Best of luck to you. Glad to hear that you are OK after your mishap with the bike. Scares like that do wake you up. Things could have been much worse. U4euh -- did you take Brankin's bottle home with you from Suches? Maybe the flames are getting to you! Brankin and pink panties.....this may never end. |

JL I pulled the studs out of the x1 and replaced them before the heat killed them try this clean the stud with a wire brush or brake clean, using RED LOCKTITE double nut them tight enough to allow a deep socket to slide over them both, (use plain hex nuts) allow the locktite to set ( important ) use an air impact and a deep socket over both nuts they will either come out or break ( they would have broken any way if they do ) I used a 1/2" air impact they came right out |

1313- The official HOG rally has already moved to Charleston, they said MB rally was too commercialized, imagine that . Which Suck-Bang-Blow do you go to, new or old, old is our favorite hangout. Love the burn out pit, and all the uh, um, how do I be PC on this, nicely dressed young lady's. As far as the anti-nudity laws are concerned, that is what happens when you only stay for 1 night. If I had a picture foe every time I seen sumpthin, I could sell books! Putting it on your head would still be funny! We will be going down Thursday morning(17th) and coming home late Sunday. Carlos, Oldog- MY eyes, my eyes! Bigdaddy-Happy birthday and congratulations, see ya soon. EVERY ONE WHO DOESN"T want to visualize, STOP HERE: Kristi- now if I had gone and taken the 'bottle' home with me, I WOULD BE RIDING around in a pink pair of panties! |

Hey guys! I got some good news. Another guy at work owns a Buell. He is a Design Engineer for the Dishwasher plant, so he does not work in the same area I do, but it is on the same campus. He's already a member of BRAG and is interested in riding with other Buellers (um, that would be us!). Below is a transcript of his reply to me when I followed up on the rumors I heard about him being another Buell owner: Hi Brankin, thanks for your email!! Yes, the rumors are true :-) Three weeks ago I got my very first motorcycle and it is a Buell Lightning City XB9SX. You are right the bikes are just cool!!! You haven't seen it in the parking slot yet because I'm trying to "get use" to it first. I'm kind of a beginner, even thought I rode motorcycle in Germany for a short period of time (but it is a long time ago) and three years ago I attended a safety course at the community colleague. However I've been practicing for a couple of days already and I think soon you will see me here with it :-) I'll definitely be interested in riding with some other Buell owners (I'm already a BRAG member). How often do you guys meet? Would be nice if you can provide me with more information. So, your Buell is pieces now? Jorge I will be sending some information and links to our info on badweb here to my work E-mail tonight so that I can forward it on to Jorge at work tomorrow. 1313 |

U4euh & Jim N -- you both crack me up! Blackmail pictures are the best. And Jim N, we'll leave that answer up to Rebecca! 1313 - Another eastern NC Bueller -- good, the western side of the state is pulling them in left and right. Maybe we'll actually have good attendance for our next meeting. Kristi |

Okay, I still have not been able to catch the Buell Owner that lives two streets over from me. I have also seen TWO RED Firebolts here on base. One of them is parked next to a barracks where I work and the other one passed me going the opposite direction this morning. I'm going to try to find them all and at least leave some notes. |
