Mtrbkmike - Did you ever have the wheel bearings replaced on the rear of the S1 when you owned it? If so, did they do anything odd or mention anything to you about the wheel hub? Thank you |

Roc I don't think I ever had the rear wheel off that bike. If my memory is still working I believe that bike had original rubber on it when you bought it with 5k. What is up with the hub? When I had the speed triple torn apart I was goint to replace the front bearings (12k), and the Triumph dealer said I'm crazzy should't be a problem until 40k. The only fixing that bike went thru was 5 recalls and jetting (after pipe) that was done all at Latus Motors. Hope all is well. Mike |

Hey, Dave. I'll have to pass on the TL, thanks. Still waiting for my ship to come in. Leaving the liquor store tonight, I noticed all the young bucks in their 5.0 litre Mustangs and such as I headed for the mini-van and I said to myself, "I've got some cool, not-old-man wheels, they're just temporarily parked right now." It's like Harve says. Shark Club? I might just do that. I'll have to stroke the SO since I was out tonight. I'll give you a call if I can. Shit, how come that's never an issue in riding season and it is now? Guess I just ignore it then. I'll go if Dave does!!!! |

I want to ride the Aufderheide! Can I? Can I? Chris and I rode that back in 98 on the M2. We were still double up then and now I want to do it on my own. Of all the roads we have been on that is one road that I will do! Loni PS Chris says to quit telling everyone about our great roads. |

Shotgun we will be there forsure! Chris says he has been yearning for a Healvatia Burger! What do you think? Or maybe a ride up to Lava Canyon? We could take the digital and get some fun pictures! What ever the plan is we will tag along. See you at 10 am. Sorry we did not make the Sweethearts Ride, we stayed home and did yard work and taxes. Well Chris did taxes while I shopped. Mike and Kim are you in? Green Eric are you busy? And the rest of you Sunset Thunder Club Riders? Loni and Chris |

Forget this! I called the Econo Lodge in Woodland and they have recieved about 10 reservations for SPLASH. The Crest Trail Lodge in Packwood has only 8 rooms left. If you have not made your reservations make them soon. Econo Lodge 1.800.444.9667 Crest Trail Lodge 1.800.477.5339 Loni |

Sorry I missed you guys. Cody and I went to a private track today $10 bucks per truck load. Seven turns and about 1/4 mile in length. We are pooped out. Never thought going so slow could be this much fun. Chris next time I think you should come and I'll bring the Yammie and the green machine. Mike |

Mike "His bike is a Polini 910 (color is red) that has a top speed of 38.5mph. Dad can verify that it's pretty fast when your 15 inches off the ground with 5" wheels." Well then maybe Ferris's feet can reach the ground or maybe even his butt, hey Bob how about a "Hot Butt" skid plate. And, if you will keep me in the loupe, Sharon and I would love to Join in on some of Codys raceing adventures. It would be a kick in the pants! Loni "I want to ride the Aufderheide! Can I? Can I? I wana go too! Can I? Can I? |

Bob it's 20 minutes from my house. Private house/junkyard complete with goats and horses. You would never guess in a million years that a go cart track would be in such a place but it is. The track is set in a natural pit in this guys backyard complete with elevation change, creek, and trees. The little beast has a downhill sweeper leading to the front straight that if you have enough balls you can go flat out. The pavement is a little rough for pocket bikes (no suspension) has a 20 wide roadway 1/4 mile distance with 7 turns. We must do it again soon. Cody needs lots of practice and I'm learning patience. The M2 is patched up once again and ready for terror. Had a great time today in the sunshine on the sweetheart ride. I was joined by my sweetheart Steve and my other sweetheart Steve. It was a fairly short ride, about 90 miles, but it felt good to be out in the sunshine. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's ride with the rest of the STC crew. Healvatia Burger sounds yummy, but I doubt we can get near lava canyon. I don't care where we go, I just want to ride. See everyone tomorrow. |

Mike - Thank you for the information on the wheels. My attempt to be frugal in fixing my bent front wheel has left me with an expensive mess, as the rear wheel's hub is very poorly machined and will not accept one of the 3 bearings - it just kind of flops around in there. The powder coating guy said that one bearing was "glued" in there. It is kind of sad to hear that Buell is using glue to hold the bearings in, but maybe if it works for them I can get some and save some money. |

Mike thats the one. Cody and I hit the track today. We were lucky to be all alone to do as we pleased. Cody is improving alot. Roc that is crap. When I bought my x-1 it had a defective rim from the factory. When I first saw the bike in the showroom the rear was flat and the salesman said it would be fixed before my return to pick it up. Little did I know that when I got up the next morning went to garage to see my nice new shinney bike it had a flat tire to greet me. Yes that shit head really fixed the problem by filling it up with air without any further research. Later the mechanic informed me that the bike never held air since it was taken out of the crate. He said the salesman never wrote a repair ticket so he couldn't fix it. I was feeling better all the time. Bottom line is that really sucks. Hope you can repair it withuot total replacement. Mike |

Bob & Deb- You need to plan another weekend stay and go and do the track thing with Cody, he would love that and I am sure Mike would too! Debbie you could bring a good book and some cozy jammies and slippers and hang on the couch and be waited on! Sound like a good idea? Gumby & Sharon - of course we will let you know about Cody's racing adventures, after all you guys have been so kind to let Cody participate in Thundercross and also so encouraging. I appreciate that! Sweet Pea really wants to get out and play - to bad it is still so cold. Kimberlie |

Roc, I bet your rear wheel is a Marchesini and I'm pretty sure it's the drive side outer bearing and I'm pretty sure the bearing behind is starting to get loose. The later 3 spoke are made by Cast-Alloy and I havn't seen any issues with them(these have the Buell logo). I,ve seen at least a half dozen Marchesini's with this problem and it can be repaired, I'm using one on our race bike. Loctite makes a product called quick metel 660. The part number is 66040 and it's a retaining compound for press fit repairs. At $25 a tube, it's expensive, but it'll seal up to .015. This stuff is worth trying, but only use it if your axle is good. When a bearing seizes and starts spinning in the hub, it wears the axle as well. Did you purchase your bike new, I have a hard time believing the factory would glue in a wheel bearing? Hope this helps, Gootch |

Roc, when I said I havn't seen any issues with the Cast-Alloy wheels, I was refering to the bearing area. Mike would have had a Cast-Alloy and it was probably porous. Let me know if you need a front and I'll see what I can find. |

Stu I'm the original owner of Roc's S-1 and I can tell you in the two years and 5,000 miles logged on the bike it never had rear bearings replaced glued or welded in place. Make your own conclusions as to where they were glued up, but it was not under my ownership. I give up that Buell is haunting me and I have not owned it for 4 years. Thank god I traded in the X-1. Mike Roc don't worry keep the questions comming. |
