Well, it now looks like I will be putting the bike in the truck for a sneak peak as my headlight is on back order. Seems Aprilia was recently bought out and the new owners cancelled all parts orders until they finalize whatever it is they are working with. Anyone know where I can get a 99 RS50 headlight for cheap? |

Any one interested in a Track Day April 8-9 at Summitt Point? NESBA has track days for both days and I wanted to do my first track day there. |

Hey Mio! If I may suggest, after you've ridden with NESBA once, you'll probably get hooked on the track. Just for selfish reasons, look into TPM, I and a few others on this board are doing track days (in addition to the one Jose was talking about) with them. We could form a .. Uh, Track Day Team? Yeah, that's it.. Team Headlight Out! Or Team Street Rider! Or Team Hooligan! Or Team Too Slow! Or some such.. hehehehee.. |

Speaking of track days, Classic Iron down in Dumfries has a XB12 firebolt for sale that can only be used to race. The frame has a dent that can be completely hidden by a frame puck, but the salvage title will not allow it to be ridden on the streets of VA, so it would be perfect for a track day bike. I think they are asking around $5k for it, but I'm sure that is negotiable. Oh, and the new headlight came in today, so I might be riding in primer this weekend!!! |

Ras, I'm in for Saturday. Blublak, I think a "Track Day" group would be great. THe more Buells the better! Plus we could share resources (tools, trailers, etc) as a group and keep cost down. Mio |

Maybe we should have a contingency plan, as they are calling for some rain for Saturday morning. Later in the day Saturday or maybe Sunday? Chime in. Mio |

The DCBRAG meeting/ride will be this Saturday, the HD/Buell Open House is on the 15th, two weekends away. The TPM Track day @ Pocono is on Sunday, the 9th I'll be at all three! For Saturday, we can meet at HDW and leave at around 10:30 and take backroads up to Frederick, be there around 12:30 or so, them we can meet up with the folks there and ride towards the Harper's Ferry area, like Ramon mentioned. I'll be on my VROD, the Buell does not want to shift, I'll have to tear into it Sunday to see what happened. |

What is the minimum age required for the brag meetings and after rides? There is a guy on here who lives in triangle VA who is 16 yrs old, he is looking for folks to ride with. Would be cool if he could tag along with us on the rides. Jose what about that form you have us sign before the rides. Is that going to be a problem for him? |

Well, I should be up at Frederick in the late morning, I has one errand to run in early and then I'm on my way.. Of course, I can't go on a ride, but it's all good.. At least we can chat (besides, isn't Frederick supposed to be having some sort of event this weekend?) |

I can't do the long ride, but I will be riding to Ft Washington for the meeting. I took the fairing back off for the night as it needs some more work to really fit right, so the bike will have the bracket and still be all dirty. At least it's running again!! |

Well, it's 12:42 and I'm back home for few minutes, then heading out for points North/East of Ft. Wash. Got a business errand to run and we'll drop off Robin's Harley for a little work at a custom shop a buddy rates very highly. Sunday, I'll be helping my cruiser club with a 'New Rider Orientation Ride' so I won't be available.. Of course, if my Buell is ready, then I may run up there in the afternoon to collect it.. But I won't know until Sunday. Hope the ride went well. I'll see you all .. Later.. Be safe. |

Jose Can you post information on that driver in the white van that alomos took us out? The road name area or town. Had I been alone I would have turn around after him. |

The road was Chesnut Hill. I didn't get any info on the van, I was busy enough trying not to get run over. That "incident" aside, Saturday was one of those "epic" days were a simple ride turns into a great event. Bill, Steve, Sebastian, Paul and myself took every backroad to Frederick and got there a little late, about 10 after 1 pm. We hung out a bit, we saw Pete's bike in the back. After that we went west on Scenic 40 for a bit then south to Gapland road and found the Gathland State Park From there we did 67 south to 340 and a short ride through Harpers Ferry (we almost got a speeding ticket leaving the park!) then back on 340 over to Chesnut Hill when the Van almost ran all five of us off the road. The van looked to me like he blew the turn and went into our lane, after much horn honking he eventually got back in his lane but then I heard everybody elses horns behind me so he must have gone back over to our lane, almost as if on purpose. I know Paul thinks that it was intentional. Had we arrived at that turn just a second or two earlier things would have been much worse. We thought about going back and chasing him down but we decided not to. After that we did 9 east to Hillsboro then Stony Point/Woodgrove to Rt 7. Then 7 east to Purceville, then Lincoln Road/North Fork/Watermill/Snickersville Turnpike/Lime Kiln to Route 15. From there everybody kind of went their own way. I had an extra 180 miles on my odometer. It was a great ride, it looked like we could get soaked at any moment but no rain fell on us. What a ride. |

Jose, Sorry I couldn't help with the tire changing episode, had to build a table (long story). Sounds like I missed an awesome ride. Hope to have the true "Mutant" X-1 completely together for the next time we meet up. As for my ride home, by the time I found that 1 little 10-24 screw I got caught in the rain. Decided to wait it out a bit at the dealer, then when it started to slack off left for home. No other incidents, but made sure I checked and re lock-tited the shifter bolts!! |

I waited @ Frederick til 1 pm then took off. Kinda wished I'd waited a few more minutes... Sunday was better (weather), I'm teaching my wife to ride. Took her out to a huge empty parking lot. She did well but now I need a right turn signal...Glad I just put on those pucks!!! |

Jose.. I dropped my bike off, and waited a little while until the wife got there with my other wheels and my new Diablo Corsas. Then we left because we had a few errands to run. Took her Harley to Eastern Performance (a buddy of mine knows them and gave them a big thumbs up) to have new 8" apes put on and a service done. Ran our errands and headed home. Oddly enough, I was gonna run down Chestnut hill last weekend when we rode, however traffic and time was putting a crimp in our ride, so I didn't. Glad they got a chance to run that road. Sunday, we had a 'orientation' ride for some new members. Then in the afternoon I ran out to Frederick to pick up my bike. Clutch and throttle both adjusted (much nicer know that they are 'tight') ran the bike home and it's now parked until next weekend. Phew.. been a busy couple of days. Really wish I'd been able to make the ride with you guys.. (there are a few other twists I could have tossed in.. heheheheheh) Ok, so.. I'll see a few of you up at Pocono. Jose, did you figure out where you're staying up there yet? |
