As far as the Discount goes, I know there are certain dealerships that will give you 10% just for being a BRAG member. |

Hal's has a discount (from what I hear) for the H.O.G. chapter there, but you have to be a card-carrying member of the local chapter. They used to have the Performance Advantage card that after you paid $15 for the card/membership it gave you 15% off on all performance and all Buell parts, but that seems to have gone away with the new building and new PA location. I hate to suggest this (and expect to get royally flamed for it) but has anyone considered tagging the BrewCityBRAG into a linked union with the Kettle Moraine chapter of H.O.G.? Could be good for insurance, liability, discounts, organization, events, access. Could be bad for any number or reasons. Just a thought, don't kill me. |

No worries Mike. The idea has been kicked around. Just haven't acted on it at all. We will probably extend an invitation out to the Kettle Moraine HOG to join us in rides, activites, etc in the future if they would like. It never hurts to be a good neighbor. |

Mike....I've had some contact with officers of the KMC HOG group. They sound gung-ho on getting more interaction but nobody seems to be taking the first step. That being said....I still think we need to be a completely separate entity. I don't mind offering them the opportunity to ride with us. I'd hope they'd extend the same courtesy. As for the discount thing...I'm drafting a letter to Kirk asking Hal's to extend the same discounts to Brew City BRAG that they give to the KMC chapter. This should be a no brainer from his prospective (I hope). The only snag so far is getting "membership cards". We may need to improvise for the time being (laser printer & laminator). I'll keep everyone in the loop as things develop. Your fearless or should that be fearful leader, Dennis |

I think riding with the HOG chapter sometimes would be really cool !! More opportunities to ride and to meet more people is probably the reason. But I like our little group too !! I think I'm going to go for the most rider miles next season. How many miles have you guys rode in a season in the past ??? CJM |

CJM, Some years see low triple digit mileage, some years see easily into the 5 digit range which is good for Wisconsin. With the reasonably snowless seasonless winter we're having if things were different (not moving and other stuff) I'd probably have several tanks of gas run through my bike by now, and if I had electric clothing there'd be several more. The bottom line, just ride, and count the miles when you're done. |

I put 11,000 on the X1 last year & thats with 3 engine grenades & the downtime that took. Also put another 16,000 on the Dyna during the same time span. |

Dennis, you will definately want to keep it as a separate entity. A lot of HOG members arent real fond of Buells & some are down right nasty with their attitude. It just brings everyone down & is a waste of time. CJ, unless you have ever ridden in a parade that moves about 4 mph I would suggest staying away from HOG rides. I have my Dyna & belong to the local chapter, but I dont even go on rides with them anymore. It will drive you nutz. Hmm lets see, I have a Dyna & a broken X1 that will probably never see the road again, & yet I join a Brag chapter? Its because the Buell folks actually enjoy riding more than stopping for gas every 10 miles & have to eat 32 times a day. |

Dyna...If you've ever ridden with Chi & Capt. America, you'll know that the only food you get is at the gas stops. If you're lucky enough to be riding past Sauk Prarie, they'll probably stop for a free snack. Otherwise, you only stop once to gas, eat, pee & other necessary bodily functions Gotta love those BRAG guys!!!! |

Dyna, I'll keep that in mind, I've actually heard those things about HOG riders many times from various people !! Just didn't think they'd all be that way, and I LOVE riding, especially with Buell folks !! Sometimes going to a Harley event just for the social scene is kinda cool too though, I've got several friends that ride Harley's !! CJM |

When you ride with a group, you don't have to ride with the group, if you get my drift. Meet, say you'll meet them at the destination, then pop in and out along the way. If they're an okay group then they'll be okay with that for the most part. If not then let their attitude be your guide. |

Lake...Rode a number of times last year with KMC HOG and had a great time. Yeah, I took a little teasing about the Buell, but mostly from the women. Something to the effect of Buell Boyz, rocket science and helmets (duh). The guys usually just said they could not get used to riding head first! Think that may have to do with the beer and whirlies or perhaps the follicular deficient (Read: Slab sized windshields help save a dudes doo). LOL Concerning membership cards, you can probably go to a low cost printer and have custom biz cards done that will suffice. Many of them will do the graphics work for you as well. Suggestion would be the patch (one color) on the front and fill in the blank member info on the back. The only real expense is if you want them sequentially numbered. That and member info can be done by hand when the card is issued. Concerning security, the usual "See ID" normally works compliments of pictured drivers licenses. The laminating idea is good unless you like the antiqued look. |
