on North Hwy 377 in Keller, TX which is off 1709(Keller Hicks Rd/Southlake Blvd) which runs between I35 N in Fort Worth and 114 in Grapevine but it closer to I35. If you look at a map and find where I35 and NE Loop 820 intersect; you will be within a 5 mile range and it is NE of that exact point. |

Bretp, If it's possible, can we get the DFW BRAG members together for a meeting. I was hoping we could all get together and plan a trip to HOME COMING on June 2nd 2006. If you need any help at all with paper work or organizing anything, do not hesitate to call me at work or on my cell. Thanks Brent.... |

The r6 finally arrived yesterday. After a quick 40 mile run beneath 10,000 rpm (there's 7k left above that) through some very familiar twists, I can plainly see the real truth. These two bikes are worlds apart. My first track day with it is on the 13th. Frame, clutch, & bar-end sliders are on the way. I have 2 weeks in which to put 500 miles on it. I'm up for it.
These tiny crap-camera pics don't do either bike any justice. |

They are very different machines for sure. Be careful, that is a race bike with license plates and lights. |

In fact, you better just hold off and let the kid and I break it in proper for you at the track. I'll be taking notes at Daytona, so I should be up to the task. |

I knew you were irresponsible; this just confirms it. I say again, better hold off and let Ortegakid and I break it in proper for you. Trust us, we're looking out for your best interests, really we are. |

I am truly afraid to try it, I know I'll be down at the dealer signing my life away as soon as I ride it, but as long as I keep the bolt,'spose it'll be ok! |

Big Dave and I rode 300+ miles yesterday, starting at about 10:30 and took our time riding some of the FMs between McKinney & Lucas, then rode 455 from Anna all the way to Montague, and back via 59, 81, and 380. Along the way we stopped and ate at Clark's Outpost in Tioga (GOOD BBQ!), and got back around 5pm. We had great roads, good weather, light traffic, and good times - thanks, Dave! Now for the bad news. My bike developed a problem on the way back around McKinney and eventually died on 75 just two miles north of HDD in Allen. The symptoms always developed while cruising steady-state between 3500-4000 rpm, at about 75-85 mph. Symptoms were: Check engine light comes on No power, tach drops to 0 rpm Intermittent engine on/off, but engine light stays on Then, engine back on with full power and engine light goes off (except for the one time it died completely) After it died, I took the seat off (thinking it may be electrical) and made sure all the connections were good, after which it started immediately. I stopped at HDD in Allen, but they didn't have time to look at unless I left it, so I rode it home. It acted up a couple more times before I stopped and filled up at my local Chevron (I always use Chevron, but we did get gas in Bowie at an el-cheap-o place...that may be the problem). Any ideas? I plan on looking at it today with my Buell Service Manual. |

Mangaed to feel good enough to get a peek and an pic of my 83 sporty today. My father brought it down this week. Today was the first time I was able to see it. I have been down for a week with a pinched nerve in the back. Take a look... Funny what we call heirlooms.

Yeah, that's one of many possibilities in the "troubleshooting" section of the service manual. Rode it for an hour or so yesterday with no problems, but it's due for the 10k maintenance soon so I'll have 'em check it out then. I did add an ounce of RedLine gas treatment and will monitor progress. On an "up" note, I added the Crossroads billet shift and brake levers from American Sport Bike - they have bronze bushings instead of the nylon stock ones, and the feel is much improved with the longer toe pieces. Will post pics soon... |

That's a cool sporty Micah! Sorry to hear about the pinched nerve. Those things aren't comfortable. That sounds like a nice ride, Chris. The weather wound up being perfect for you guys. My 4 month old renders me capable of only last second spurts out the door for a ride. Otherwise, I would have loved to join you two. But I did manage to put in a few sunday evening. |

So, just to confirm details; on Saturday, March 11, this year, we're meeting at Up in Smoke in Keller on 377 at (insert meeting time here) to watch the Daytona 200 Formula Extreme race in which four teams will be racing Buell XBRRs. Yay!! ... Whoops. I just noticed that I have a glaring blank in my information. Can anybody else going on the 11th help me out with this? |

Micah(slowride) It was good meeting you the other day. Hope the back is feeling better So my brand new bike (110 miles) is in the shop now. It was cutting out on me and dying after about 20 minutes of riding. Come to find out, there were some loose wires that were shorting, keeping the battery from taking a full charge. What they were able to do however i mangle the regulator So now, my brand new bike is sitting behind the shop waiting for parts to come in. I am Jacks deep depression. |

Bret, Likewise man! We had a good talk with the guys. My dad about had a heart attack when he got the bill for two tires and a carb rebuild. $795.00 He looked at me and said thank goodness this bike (1997 HD Sporty 1200S) was only $4g's. But he keep smiling all day long and looking in the back of his truck. Sad thing is he is in the Ministry (God) not the band if anyone has ever heard of the band. Anyway he had a 1200 mile road trip back to Ohio and then when he got their it was snowing this whole week. He fly's out this weekend to Zambia, Africa to film a documentary. Poor guy can't catch a break. News Flash! Looks like the TL1000R V-Twin super bike will be in my little hands the week after the up in smoke gig. So I guess I will ride the 83' Sporty if the Back and weather is willing. See ya there! |

SUNDAY RIDE....... If the weather holds up through this weekend we will be riding! The plan is to meet EARLY sunday am in the FTW area and travel down to Georgetown via I35, cut over to Marble Falls (Have lunch at Blue Bonnet in MF) and return via 281. There are about 10 Harleys and thus far I am the only one with a sportbike and the only girl. It is a VERY uniformed ride in formation with a header and a footer (Rodeo talk). Top speed will be about 70 mph and there will be MANY stops. The ride will take about 12 hours RT. It is very laid back if anyone wants to just hook up to ride and see the sites and there will be LOTS of stops if you want to bring your babe. Let me know and then be ready and watch the weather. This ride isn't for all but I hope to see SOMEONE! Angela |

Not me - my wife has been gone the past two weekends so we're takin' it easy at the casa. I will be watching tho... My bike is red now - I bought a like-new dealer "take off" paint set on ebay and swapped it out tonight. I love the Midnight Black, but I LUST the Racing Red! Pics this weekend... |
