Dan did you get up with Al and go riding? The DRZ is a great little bike but for a lot less money you can buy a xr650r that has been motarded for a lot less. Just check around and there is always someone wanting to sell one. The guy that bought my xr650l is wanting to sell it for 2700.00. For some reason he wants a Husky which is fine until it tears up and you cannot find any parts for it. |

I need everyone's opinion on something... I got a call last night from a guy in Detroit with an XB motor. He bought a slightly wrecked 9 with 3600 miles on it with plans on making it into a chopper. He started with the engine and bought a Nallin 88" kit had the cases bored locally. He found out the XB chopper project would require more than he could put into it right now and is parting it out so he can finish some other projects. He is asking $2500 shipped for this engine. For comparison's sake there is a 9 engine on ebay right now for $2100 So aside of a head pipe and 9 ECM I am thinking about getting the DirectLink ECM Mapping software and some dyno time to get it tuned right. What say y'all about this? Good idea or just another mistake? |

Is the engine assembled and ready to go? Sounds like a good deal if everything's included. With the engine mods, it's OK to use your header, you will need an XB9 ECM though. Forget about the Direct Link for now if you still have that PCIII, and go for it later. You'll still need dyno time though. I'll chat with you after lunch, if you're available. Sounds good! |

Hey S_B, any word on when you think you might be able to do my paint? The bike is down waiting on the new pipe and tail section. Just checking to see when you were available. Thanks. |

Bring the parts to me when you get the tail section from Odie. I will get you a price when my painter gets a look at what he has to do. |

Hey guys, I had mentioned hats to some of the 3%ers at the last meeting and I talked to the owner of the embroidery shop down the street. They have a brand new machine for doing hats and he said the cost would be around $15 bucks a hat... If you guys are interested I am thinking about a stretch fitted hat with the peg 3% logo on the front... with the hand sign on the back center and your screen name somewhere along the side... I think he can write along the bill of the hat also... whatever you guys want.. I am totally looking for input if you guys are interested... So shoot me some Ideas and if we decide to do it I will need your actual head size for a fitted hat ETC... Let me know what you think... |

Ocbueller, go to www.twowheelsonly.com there's a few links to cabins in the area. All the links are to good clean cabins. You may want to make up your mind quick and make a reservation, the cabins get booked quick. If you like camping, there's always space at T.W.O. Duc_Htr, I'm in, sounds like a good deal. |

WOW New12r, glad you didn't get hurt! I had a close call back in September myself. I was at a stop light behind the first in line. I heard breaks screeching behind me and checked my mirror to see some lady fishtailing towards me. I slipped the clutch and moved up beside the car in front. She did stop before she would have hit me, but it scared the crap out of me none the less. I now make sure that I am near one side of the other of the lane at a stop to make for easy getaway. I also continually check the mirror as I am stopped. |

It's kind of ironic, I found this in the xb board after posting my last: http://www.reevu.com/rv.asp Seems like that would be really cool. |

New12r... good luck with the new job! Do you have any questions I should ask the guy with the motor tonight? I spoke with Brian Nallin today and he thinks I should pull the trigger. He said it would need to be inspected real good before bolting her in, are you capable of making sure everything is good to go or should I have it sent to him? |

Does anyone know if the throttle bodies and injectors from 12 will fit a 9? If you use the whole thing as a unit, it'll plug right in. |

Mountainrider, no, I didn't see hardly anybody on Tuesday. I rode up 129/180 to the T.W.O. intersection, up to Morganton, back to Woody Gap, watched some storm troopers with a big black tinted Suburban for a while who were talking to a helicopter overhead and decided a quick ride to Dahlonega and outa there was a good idea. It was a great day nonetheless. Hey Duc_htr, I'm down for two hats. New12R, I hate being the last guy in line when traffic stops. Glad you're awright. Buellalove, The moon is in aries!? How 'bout that.
