Speed Channel is listing Daytona at 10:00 – 11:30 Central Time. Sounds early. If that’s correct we’ll have to check to make sure Up N Smoke will be open that early. On the bright side, we’ll have plenty of time for a ride afterwards. |

You're welcome. Remember to give yourself plenty of sun and fresh water, not too much fertilizer. |

That 1551 was good stuff! Cowtown, good decision I think. Heck, I won't be riding in Daytona. The folks from up North have reason to want to ride in the middle of Winter and lots of them go to a lot of trouble to bring their bikes to Daytona, but the more astute of us who see fit to live in the southern climes aren't so desperate. Yeah it makes me feel good to imply that I my own self am one of those "astute" folks. |

BRAG Chapter info. For those of you who have been talking about getting a BRAG chapter started, I have the paperwork sitting on my desk right now. Everything has been cleared through Dale Rhodes, the owner of HD of Dallas, and I have been set up as the dealer liason. If you guys are ready to get this going, all I need is the info on the chapter leaders you would like (president etc). If you guys have any questions feel free to call me at (214)495-0259 ext 207 |

Girlscantwo, Daytona was last weekend! It was the Daytona 500 car race. 3/11 will be the MotoGP race at Daytona Race Way. It is one of two major races that the media covers for us bike enthusiast. Your confusion is ok, I didn't know any of the scheduled events until this year and I have been riding for almost 15 years. Micah |

The American MotoGP race is at Laguna Seca in July. The Daytona 200 is AMA racing, Formula Xtreme class. |

What, after the 11th? The same night we heard about Buells at Daytona I looked up when the actual race was, and I've already asked off for the whole day. So whether we ride after the race or just hang out for a while, I'll be at up-n-smoke, fo sho. |

Does anyone have a bike stand that can be borrowed this weekend? My hubby is going to do my 1000 mile overhaul on my bike this weekend so I can get on the road again. He needs a stand and I really don't feel like investing in one right now. |

I'm pretty slow sometimes. You'll see that if you ever make OHR for a track day. Chris, Cool! Time to promote the DFW board to the top with the other 1000+ post volume active group boards. I've also added a "Start New Thread" link at the bottom of the subtopic/archive list, just in case someone might want to use it. Life is good. Cheers all! Blake |

COOL; Which boobie prize do I get?! Hay; Are you guyes sure the race is saturday the 11th? I;ve looked on every channel (all 999 of them) and I do not see a listing for it airing. There is however a bike race on tomorrow. |

Darn sure as long as it doesn't get rained out. Recheck the listings on Tuesday, they should be updated by then. Our cable has a five day running window where programming is up do date, beyond that, its not so reliable and sometimes nonexistant. Chris, sounds like you owe Angela a prize amigo. |

Derek; Thanks but I think we got it. I saw Bret saturday and got good info and tips. Thanks for all the help Bret; Spite the rain you guys had a nice turn out. We had some good chili and though I was a bit water logged and it taking a few hours for my jeans and socks to dry it was well worth it. And your new baby is much sweeter in person then in pics. Hubby got the tune up done(and had no extra parts leftover- I'm impressed) and now I'm ready to ride! |

It took me a minute to find this place again. I suppose the huge blue crazy-type link on the main page wasn't enough for me. I had been wondering what entitled certain threads to link using that font. Now I know! I found a nail in my rear tire last week and patched it. It'll get taken off soon. But before then, I decided to go ahead and flat-spot it Sunday around town. It was the first time since after the post-re-break-in service I'd been on it. Wow. It genuinely has more punch. The front wheel comes up sooooooo easily now. I'm beginning the think my first motor just wasn't right. I also just figured out the whole clutch-up thing. That's some fun stuff. I know many may frown upon that type of activity. But from my perspective, the more circumstances in which you can control a motorcycle, the better. And I was in a safe place. While out, I found a fantastic indy motorcycle performance shop on 407 near I35E: Superbike Planet is the name I think. The owner, David, seems like a nice guy. I told him about getting the new bike, and he suggested I bring it to him so that he can do a break-in process called the S.A.E. break-in. Has anyone heard of this? Evidently it entails adhering the the SAE recommendations of heat-cycles as well as running through the gear-box in a specific manner. He claims that he's personally seen a 5-7% difference in rwhp between bikes that do the SAE break-in over the regular street riding break-in. Given what happened with my last engine, I don't think it's a bad idea. Thoughts? At the very least, I know he'll be a great resource for tires, tire installs, and regular service. He also claims to be a good suspension guy. Who knows. But I liked the sound of it all. (Message edited by dago on February 27, 2006) |
