Brent, if you came to some meetings you would know all about this trash talk..... During the winter I usually clean and treat my leathers. You know, clean off the bugs, oil, and grime, re-dye areas that are scuffed, then apply leather conditions to rejuvenate and waterproof (the leathers, of course). I tried unsuccessfully for two years to make this a club activity for one of the winter meetings. Everyone would bring in their leathers and we would all sit around drinking beer and cleaning our leathers. Everyone thought it was gay and unanimously reject "leather night". What can I say...... |

Curt, I think you're idea was a good one. I have a couple of leathers and don't know a thing about cleaning or caring for them. I see we are at the top of the Fronts Page now, is that good? Anyway to get discounted IMS tickets, anybody- Kevin? |

I've got a stash of discount tickets for the IMS, holding them for the chapter guys. Pick them up at the next meeting or whenever you want. I've also been working on the 06 calendar for the website, not quite finished yet but it should be up by next week. Sam |

Bring a scrub brush Bobby, it's hard to get 3 year old red clay out of white leather. |

Be sure to bring your checkbooks to the next Chapter meeting. Orders are being taken now for the new XBRR and with only 25 slated for US distribution they won't last long! :-) Also just an FYI, if you plan on going to the IMS show be sure to bring something that has your Buell's VIN# on it. They will be giving free T-shirts at the Buell booth to all Buell owners that can supply that info. L8R Sam |

Gents -- Illinois is considering a change to the motorvehical code -- the bad news is that the hardy perennial of control freak legislation, the helmet law, is coming back for consideration (are Sam and I the only riders that remember Illinois' helmet law -- I think it lasted 2 or 3 months, back when Sam had hair and mine was blonde) the good news is that Lane Splitting would be legal! should to fun to watch this sausage being made! |

I don't get it. Sausage? Roger, how does the proposed law read. From what I understand, you would be required to wear a helmet if you are lane splitting, you don't need to wear one if you are not. Or is it - in exchange for allowing lane splitting, every rider needs a lid? I split lanes, but only in stand still traffic, or at lights, when I know no cars will begin to dance in between lanes. |

As a New York City truck driver I have seen the lane splitting work very well.I have seen groups weave through with only smiles at the cars they pass.I am one who is proud to know there is a way for an emergency transport to get through traffic even if its a Scooter or not and even if it a personal emergency..Hi Brent Vwolf |

Sam, I think we have just as much hair as we always did...it's just stopped growing from the top of our heads to growing out at other places. Bomber, I remember getting stopped in 1966 riding my '65 CB160 Honda from Western Springs into Hinsdale. The Hinsdale copper said "you can't ride in this village without a helmet, boys". He gave me and my other buddies tickets. Of course we went to court and the magistrate threw it out. Ah, the seeds of civil unrest being sown. As for sausage, I was riding a friend's Triumph T100C on the Santa Monica Freeway in L.A. (I think I was going to Randy's Donuts) back in '74. I couldn't believe guys were splitting the lanes there. That, the trials tires and the grooved pavement on the freeway curves swore me off the slabs in L.A. Farm out Dude Frank |

Just talked to Dan Schmitt from Team Chicago about his "free" Trackday-Roadrace School. The date this year is Sat, April 1, 2006, the bad news is that this year it's not "free". There is a $25.00 track fee this year just to cover cost if you pre-register. Price at the gate is $50.00 This money goes directly to the track. Oh yea for youse that don't know, it's at Grattan Raceway, Grattan MI. More info on his site, http://www.teamchicago.tv/ I've got entry forms here for tomorrows meeting or you can print them off his site. See ya'll manana Sal |
