Things will get going around 10:00 or so. Registration for the bike show is 10 - 12 (i think). Trophies will be made of take-off motorcycle parts again this year. We will have tons of vendors and several food vendors. It is one of our biggest events of the year. |

Hey MountainRider, I met a buddy of yours at Woody Gap this afternoon. Al, on a brandy new KTM 950. Sweet bike, good rider. Your name came up. And what the heck did they do with the toilets at Woody Gap!? I count on those being there! I feel so much better having gotten a Mountain circuit in today. Roads were decent and not crowded at all. I need tires. |

Al is a great rider and I know he is going to kick my butt on that KTM. When he gets that thing broke in the game will be over. Glad you had fun because the weekend looks like crap. I just put new tires on this week. My front tire was so V shaped that I was having a hard time holding my lines. I put the Pilot Road tires on. They are sport touring tires and I am hoping for more then 1500 miles out of them. Tire Express had them on sell for 205.00 a set. With shipping they were 225.00 not a bad price. |

MR - Funny you mention the Pilot Roads, the place I get my tires in Woodstock recommended them too, he said you won't ride on the street even close to the limit of the Pilot Powers (what I got now) and the Pilot Road lasts almost twice as long. That's my next purchase. He said $237.50 installed. |

The Bridgestone 020 are another good choice for a sport touring tire. They're good in the wet too so sez BIKE magazine (from England). Looking foward to trying a set out for myself as I'm running Dunlap 220's now. Not a bad tire but not the best feedback from em when riding. |

Kdan Everyone thinks you need a sport tire for riding on the street and that is not true. None of us are fast enough to push modern tires to their limit. I used the Avon STs on my Triple and they were just fine. Most of this I got have different tires, suspension and HP to go faster is a mental thing. The fastest guy I ever rode with had Kawasaki WS650(Triumph Bonny copy) with skinny tires and cheap ones at that. No suspension settings and no HP. He would just wear your butt out in a day. Corner speed was unreal. Going fast is a mental thing. I just wish I had what it takes to ride like Al and some of the other riders that I know. |

He said $237.50 installed. Wheels on the bike, or off? It's a good price if I'm bringing him the wheels, and a great price if I'm bringing him the bike. |

Kdan- was that the price for a pair? If so, hook me up with a phone number! I will need a new pair before I ride to Wi. for homecoming. |

Tires...tires...and tires. It seems like everyone has their own opinion. Most people will agree that its all in what you feel confident in. Because a lot of riding skills are based on your mental ability. I've rode with some really fast people that rode on stock bikes that were so fast all I could think was "how is that bike sticking to the road and I wish that I could keep up with their pace" That was Scott Zampack aka Z-man and Scott Russell I was riding with. Joey Melindez aka JoeyR1 is one of the fastest mountain riders in the southeast. Riding with him and watching him over the last 10 years has been fun. The cool thing about Joey is you never hear him talk about how fast his is and himself, unlike some people. "Look at me I'm fast" some people are legends in their own mind. |
