I've got a new window in my car! I've been impressed with safelite. I went on their website last night to get a quote. I entered some information and got a message that someone would call me in the next half hour. They did. And this morning someone came to my house and fixed it while the care was in my garrage. And the best part is they vacuumed all the glass out of it. |

By the way, I'm the kind of person who compleatly lacks the organizational skills to do something like run a business. I've had an idea sitting in my head for a motorcycle business that I know I'd never be able to do myself. So I'm going to post it just in case anyone else wants to do it. The idea is similar to the glass installation. The customer makes an apointment for service, and the motorcycle maintaince is performed at their house. I think this would have significant appeal since taking the bike to a shop involves aranging rides. The internet and cell phones makes all this a lot more practicle than it would have been 10 years ago. And it wouldn't require a huge investment to start up. |

Well, I gave Mike W. a good jabbin in the ribs about the Springer he went out and bought, but boy I was glad to see him show up on the 9R Saturday, and dressed to do some corner scrubbin. . . . . . . . .... There were a couple of riders that showed up. Interestingly enough, the 1st picture was taken by another couple. The woman was the Public Relations mngr for the 'Speed' channel. Nice lady, looked like she could have been a Buell rider if I didn't know better. |

I would've had to bite my tongue to avoid publicly relating to her that some of us prefer motorsports that do more than turn left and get gas. |

Don't worry, we didn't bite our tongue's. I actually told her about BWB and the thoughts of speed being the 'Nascar' channel. Mike told her that they need to do more motoGp coverage as well as other types of 2 wheelin events. She simply put her head down and shook it from side to side. Then agreed with us, stating that the higher ups mainly look at ratings, says she hears the same thing every where she goes! Who knows, maybe one day those higher ups will get it. |

I think the person who numbered Craig's Uly must be dyslexic... And, last but not least, I wish this was the reason my V-Rod keeps trashing tailights... These are all images from a Craig Jones CD that I got for Christmas from Craig Jones' right hand man at Buell. Some pretty cool pics and God are the images huge! Most are around 8 Meg! Even though I got a lot of cool Buell stuff for Christmas, the icing on the cake came today when I purchased a 1999 Buell X1 transmission (with approximately 400 miles of use on it) for a very paltry sum. I will have to get the S2 inspected before I can start tearing it apart, and will also need to address the rear cylinder base gasket leak before it's back on the active warpath, but with a nearly new transmission, and new base gaskets, 2006 will definitely be a good riding year for S2 1313! It has just under 106,000 miles on it now, and I wonder what the odometer will say next year at this time... 1313 |

I do that kind of stuff on mine all the time David, glad to hear your on your way home. God speed and thank you for service. Webe-I thought you were, you know,............... A "Jack of all trades" Should take it easy on the folks at Speed. All that NASCAR stuff is what keeps Speed on the air and what bike shows there are on. It's all about ratings, the higher the ratings, the more they can charge for advertising, the more they can spend on programming. My chagrin is that most of the bike stuff on Speed is geared toward the biker crowd. TWT has been gutted, Corbin's ride on used to be better balanced but now has gone all chopper all the time. And don't get me started on the garbage that is Texas Hardtails, V-Twin, and American Blunder, er, Thunder. Next weekend is IMS in DC, can we get a head count? Need to co-ordinate here some transportation and scheduling. |

Dave, As should already be known, I'm in for the DC IMS! So I will see you on Friday the 13th!!! YOO-HOO!!! For the fellow car-pooler's I can bring along the latest Hillbilly-Motors-Motors catalog to pass the transit time (so please, someone, tell me if you want me to bring it - otherwise I won't). On the other hand, during our transit time we can discuss a very important topic that can't be posted here. On a kinda, sorta, possibly, maybe related note I just got my vacation day approved today to go down to Daytona for the 200 - YOO-HOO!!! For those who asked, it looks like we will be able to get the same accomodations we had last year - if we have cash again... For those who are unaware the accomodations arranged for last year (albeit last minute) were to stay at a condo on the Ocean right on A1A about 5 miles South of International Speedway Blvd (less than 7 miles off of Main Street). The total price for Carlos, Spike and I for the 2 nights was $220, if memory serves. 1313 (Message edited by 1313 on January 04, 2006) |

Hi Guys! WeBe said you were looking for a post from me. Here goes. I played chicken with a big old dog today. Come around a corner and saw a big old boxer crossing the road. He saw me and decided to wait for me (standing on the double yellow line!!). I faked right and blew past him on the left (maybe I shoulda said blasted past him ). Well that's it for me. Cya} |

I need to add some brake fluid to the Uly. I'm gonna have a lot of fluid left over, and from what I understand, it doesn't save. Should I use this fluid to flush out the brakes on the Blast? Or should I just get rid of it? |

I need to add some brake fluid to the Uly. Did you not just have the first service done to it? They should have topped it off then. |

As for the IMS I really want to go, but my Aunt is getting married on that Saturday (to a loser) and so I am getting the your Aunt will be really hurt from the "MoM", so I still have to decide. On another note I saw a letter in the recent CycleWorld that someone in the Greensboro area bought a ULY due to the printed story about the 12X. Larry |

WBBGirl, welcome. Our little family is growing. Good move with the dog, but remember the MSF training. Slow down, down shift and when you get close, "blast" past him. I guess Ulysses past him would be too Civil War era. It works every time. Also if a dog should ever run in your path, square off your shoulders with the bars, straighten the bike, firms your grip on the bar, off the brake and hit the gas. Even a boxer will not stop a Blast. Cruel but it's better than you hitting the pavement yourself. Dave, I'm in. The Suburban is available for bus duty. Brankin, Yeah bring the catalog along. It will give me something to look at while I'm driving up. . . . . . . . In my best latino accent..."Just Keeeidding!!"

Brankin, bring the catalog, we all can dream. If nothing else, I can dream about the hot rodded Firebolt I want to build. So on the trip you'll talk about that thing you can't talk about? Webblastgirl-welcome! Good job on the crash avoidance. Remember, small animals are just squishy 4"X 4"s. Just be going fast enough and get-em straight on. And what ever you do, don't pull a John or you wind up stuck with a Rotweiler chewing on your front tire So far it looks like four for IMS, Webe had expressed interest, and a non-Bueller, John, had also expressed interest. Larry is a possible. Carlos, thanks for the offer to drive, that'l work great. The Quaint Family Truckster will be far more comfortable than either my Jeep or hey, lets all go in the Neon Jim, if you like, we can meet in Smithfield to pick you up. Let's see who else might be in, and I'll get with Carlos to get a time together. This is going to be fun............ |

Larry, one day I believe. We can all meet at Smithfield and ride up. The burb has room for eight inside plus a long luggage rack. If you want the top level just bring your gear. Jim, I don't know about Smithfield's neighborhood. We can do a study on which HD dealer's neighborhood is better. We already know your window will be smashed out at RP, now just bring your car to Smithfield and let's see what happens. I would offer my ride, but that would change the results because its not the same as yours. |

It will be interesting to see what happens. Sometimes you are really glad you did something. Or didn't do something. I'm really glad I was exceptionally polite when I called RP to complain about not getting my brake fluid filled. That way, when I went by this afternoon, when Larry showed me that you don't check the levels with the bike on the kickstand, and that they are just fine if you level the bike, I only felt like an idiot and not an A$$hole. |
