I'll V there. I may be on four wheels, though, if I have to pick my car up from the dealership tomorrow. |

I don't know about that full fairing. IMO it looks like one of those tacky lowers that people put on their half-naked bikes. I guess I'm just used to seeing the small fairing that it doesn't work. I really think it needs to look different around the lights. |

I hope you guys show at the V, Kimber is about to disown all of you for bailing on her these past couple of Thursdays. She said that at least the Honda guys are tough enough to ride in the cold. |

If there is time, can one of you guys pick me up a set (4) of Buell blinkers. I'll pay you back at the Vortex. If one of you has a used set even better. Not sure what the choices are but clear first and the dark tined second. If used then whatever you have laying around. Cheers and I'll see some of you at the V. |

Feb. it is. During the time the editors got to spend wo weeks at Barber, one of them took off towards TWO, heading to the Dragon. Tells of GT and Britt cooking up some helaciously good meals( which I would have to agree) and the good roads around the area. Oh and the man actually said the Dragon was designed with him in mind. |

Who here knows how I can get on a track? I started reading the WERA site.... Not really trying to race, yet. My bike needs a good flogging (or I need a good scare) but I would prefer the relative safety of a tracks 'runout' space on a curve..... as opposed to trees, curbs, and cagers on the street. some of you guys have to be about the track days.... |

Jennings GP is the most laid back track I've ever been on. Its Exit 467 off I-75 the first exit in Fl. Its 145 per day or 125 if you pre-pay the week before. All the run off you'll ever need. NO Tech inspections, you can even keep you kick stand on. They have corner workers and EMT's I would try the Ed Bargy School its about 325 for the school and track day with lunch,T-shirt, and most of all Ed is a great teacher. He does many track locations but does require a tech inspection. His web is www.Edbargyracingschool.com Tell is Michael the Buell man sent you.. I've done his class a couple of times and would do another. He is working on a group rate for us in spring said he'd have a price by the new year I'll call him today and post tonight. |

Great pics. Digital I do not do track days but it is not hard to find them to do. When Ed Bargy has his school at a track they usually have track time in between classes. Just go to Ed Bargy Racing to check it out. The riders over at GSB do a lot of track days. They mostly use http://sportbiketracktime.com/ but there are a lot of other ways to do them also. Get a large group of people together that you like and rent a track for a day. The only time I have ever been on a track was when I did the Ed Bargy school it was fun. I really like riding fast on the street. I know it might sound stupid but I like the challenge that street riding offers. Do I ride fast every where ,no. I have to ride and know the road. I have heard riders talking and they try to figure out why they are so fast on track but when they come to the mountains they get their butts kicked. It is simple to figure out,on the track you can make mistakes. The track stays the same lap after lap. On the street you just have from the center line to the white line to play. You go past these lines and you are headed for trouble. I love fast street rides, I know it is the wrong thing to do and it might end up being the end of me but I just cannot help it. The one thing I do not do is high speed runs on straights. So far the Buell has not even been to 100mph and might not never see it. I see no reason to haul it down a straight road and so far I have no tickets, another good reason not to do it. |

Mountainrider, I agree with ya about the speed freaks on the straights. Anybody can twist the wick, the real skill comes down to handling the curves. Leave the triple digits (and high dollar tickets) for the Busa's and Gixxers. You'll note after a heavy set of curves the cops hang at the end of the next straight to maximize the fine for those who crack the throttle... |

Do you guys still meet up at SMHD to go the Vortex? What time? 6:30 at SMHD or 7:00 ish at the Vortex. If you head directly to the Vortex, go up the stairs on the outside, and we'll be on the porch. Alternatively, you can just make a couple of laps around the parking lot revving your engine, and someone will come out to meet you. |

Thats a WERA novice behind me in the pit area. I met a WERA rider at Sears the other day. I was buying some big wrenches, and she commented that she buys the same set every time she needs to get her back wheel off and then returns it the next day. |
