We were at Mid-America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa. It was a great time, well, except for one incident through turn 5. But all is well, just need some leather repair. |

I passed a brand new black XB12R on I-380 in Cedar Rapids last night. It had a temp tag on it. Was it anyone here? Josh D. Cedar Rapids, IA |

The first few pictures. Gearhead - His second track day on the XB, he has done many with his M2. Reece - His first track day. Not a BWB member, our #1 Buell Tech at the shop. Me followed by our Riders Edge instructor JeremyW. This was my first day on an XB, I have done a few with my X1. More to come. |

Just got it in. Had it out at the Cattle Congress Fair. Stop out, take it for a spin. I've been waiting on the track pics too. I want something worth printing. I'm gonna have to get on JW some more and find out what the deal is. |

Craig, when are you going to start posting events on here? Like the Fall Fest this weekend. It may not be a Buell specific event, but it is a way to support the local dealership and hang out with friends & motorcycles. I'll post some more info when I have it to post, but here is a preview: Friday, Sept 30 6:00-Late Fall Fest @ Silver Eagle HD/Buell Hay Rides, Bonfire, Concert |

OK, I have a favor to ask of you all. I really need to ride an XB9R. I have ridden the XB9S several times, and just love it. I am going to purchase one of the two soon, but need to take a ride on the R before I can make my decision. If anyone within 50 miles of northern Cedar Rapids want to let me take a spin on theirs, I would be most grateful. Hell, I'll even pay for a tank of gas. And as an extra bonus, you can ride my P.O.S. Honda to know how good you have it. Thanks. Josh Davis Cedar Rapids, IA |

<Quote> (From Kandie) Josh, have you made a decision? Contact DaveS he can set you up with whatever you decide on. Free delivery to IA. Appleton H-D Buell 1-866-757-1651 or cell is 319-504-9294. Great guy to do business with! He's my husband. I'd watch out for that Prior guy!! <End Quote> No, I haven't had a chance to ride a 9R yet. 99X1 (Craig) says that he is getting one in at Silver Eagle HD/B in December, so I am hoping we get one of those late warm days so I can take it for a spin. Otherwise, I may have to take Mr. Prior up on his 12R ride offer. However, I would prefer to ride a 9 over a 12. I am also going to put some major hours into my Nighthawk this winter to see if I can't improve the resale or convince myself to keep it. I will do brakes, carbs, and camchain tensioner myself, and it will still need suspenders. It could really use a new set of jets and a pipe too, but it isn't worth it. Josh Davis Cedar Rapids, IA |

Josh, I have a buddy that has a 9, I can probably get him to let you take if for a spin. It has the race kit on it, the only hard part will be getting you and him together. Let me know and I'll see what I can line up for ya. A few more of the track pics made their way to a site that I've been playing with. I've been building this for a friend, so when I get his done then I will redo it for personal use. http://ifmracing.com/gallery |

99X1 (Craig) - That would be awesome. Is it a 9R? If not, don't worry about it. If so, great. I am free nearly all evenings and weekends, so let me know if he (your buddy) is willing to let me take a quick spin. All I need is a few miles to see if I like the seating position. After all of these stories that have been posted about people lending their bikes to other people and them dropping it, I didn't know if I was gonna get flamed for asking or not. Phew. Josh D. |

I do have a '03 9R that I could let you ride, it has some work done to it, it's not the smoothest in the low rpm. If you are mainly just wanting to get the feel for the seating position it will get the job done well. If you want to come up some day I can get you out on it, no problem. It's already been down on both sides, so, no worries. For one that's more stock, my buddies would be a bettter choice. |

99X1 - Yeah, all I need is to feel the riding position. That's awesome that you have one all busted up. That makes me even less scared of it. I have always been a little wary of riding a bike that has a fairing, as the headlight/front end doesn't turn with the handlebars. It may not be a big deal for some, but I have never driven anything with plastic on it. The few times that I have pushed one around a friend garage or in a shop, my mind gets all confused by the fact that the front end doesn't move. Anyway, I am gone this weekend, but I will probably be able to make it over there during the week next week. How late are you open? |

We are open 'til 7:30 throughout the week, I have Wednesdays off. Just let me know which evening works for you and I can get everything set up. In regards to the fairing, when you are riding it is barely noticible. When you think about it you really dont move the handlebars a large amount when you make turns, so it dosnt seem real foreign, just in cases like you mentioned. |

Craig - I just thought of this. Is the fairing still on the bike? I also want to feel what kind of wind protection that it offers at speed. So, let me know what shape the fairing is in, and it is looking like Wednesday or Thursday is going to work best for me. I can be at your shop anytime after 4:00 either day. Since you have Wednesday off, You probably don't want to come in to the shop, so how does Thursday at 4:00 sound to you?Let me know about the fairing and time. I really appreciate this. Josh D. |

Yes, the fairing is on it, I will do some looking for a new windscreen though, I broke it. It looks like this now. ooops. I think I know where there is a stock one though, so I'll try to get it on there for Thursday. btw....yes it was very hard to shift with the toe peg virtually missing. (dont worry, I've already replaced all that) |

For those of you in the area, I need to give props to the guys at Silver Eagle HD/Buell. I went up there yesterday for a ride on a 9R. They couldn't find a windscreen for the one they had in the shop, so Craig ran to his Boss's house and got his! We went for a nice ride, and then hung out for quite a while. I was able to ask a whole lot of questions about Buell riding, maintenance, and options. I was really encouraged by the way that they put themselves out for me. To all of you at Silver Eagle, you have my thanks. Josh Davis Cedar Rapids, IA |
