Hey guys, I had fun meeting you all, and I made it back home with all my fingers and toes intact. Dave, thanks for the beer. Mike, I thought I had the nakedest bike possible, but I was wrong. You've got to post some pictures of that thing. Oh, and Stealth ... I'm your huckleberry! (I have now exhausted my supply of Tombstone quotes ) |

Wow, You might get Mrs. Glitch on a bike!! More than likely the back of one. But hey, it's the first time in, I don't know how many years, that she's even talked about riding. Her having such a good time last night did the trick. |

Ann hope you come out with us again. She's had such a good time at the Buell-O-Ween party, the Dyno Drags, and now the Vortex, it's getting easier and easier to talk her into comin' to things. I'm goin' to see if she can make it up for at least a night of March Badness. Oh yeah...

Well it cost me sixty bucks for labor on my tire. Not too bad I suppose, but they broke my brake lever while moving some ATVs around my bike. Told me they would replace it but they had to order it. Luckily I had my silver one in my storage space. After getting the lever on I get suited up and ready to go...bike would not fire. cough, sputter, boom cough, sputter, boom get it turned over and it sounded terrible mechanic said it sounded like it was only hitting on one cylinder so we pull it back into the shop (after closing time) and two guys start going to work. They replaced my plugs for me and it fired right up. Did'nt charge me a dime either! They said it was training. Even though it was not as smooth as it should have been (nothing in my life ever is); I was really impressed with the guys at Top Gear they were more than willing to do what it takes to get me back on the road. So if you have any ATV, Dirtbike, KAW or KTM needs you should definately check them out! |

You lucky dog... I've been trying long enough! I should have Ann talk to Chrissy. We'll see when our next event/party/get-together is, and we'll get her in the game. Once Ann figured out how much fun we have, that's all it took. |

Well, I have been working on, probably the most difficult case, of upper extremity. It has taken me about t3 months to complete but its pretty damn sweet if I do say so myself. He is a bilateral shoulder distarticulation(through the shoulder joint) on the Right and an Above Elbow on the Left. The Prosthetics are a hybrid myoelectric control external power and body powered system. He control the hand by flexing his bicept/tricept on LF and Porportional Force sensors inside the skt on the RT. Harder he pushes the faster the hand opens and closes (300mm/sec). Elbows are electric switch control he uses by touching it with his his chin. Your looking at about 90 to 100K worth of prosthetics. It was a Biotch to fabricate but it turned out nice.

Well it cost me sixty bucks for labor on my tire. Cycle tire changes were a bit of a sticker shock for me when I got my first bike. The cheapest I've found in my area is Yamaha of Doraville who'll mount and balance a new tire for $26 if you take it off the bike and just bring them the wheel. IIRC, World on Wheels over in Marietta quoted me closer to $20 off-the-bike, but it was worth the extra $6 not to drive across town that day. |

Black_sunshine, Looks like you have an AWSOME career. You get to play with technology, and help people to boot! How does one get into the prosthetics field?? I have always been interested in it, but never approached it after school. I have a B.S. EE degree, and I am quite mechanically inclined. Russ |
