Hoo Boy, I just finished the best ride and saw the prettiest sunrise in the whole U.S. Yes Sir, I got up early this morning and rode around Mt. Rainier. Temperatures in the low 50’s were cool enough to be invigorating and still warm enough not to be cold. On the way, I saw a brilliant yellow sun come up from behind the Cascade mountains and I watched the sky turn from almost black to a bright blue and the clouds change from red to pink to gray to silver and then a fluffy white. Nobody in the United States can match a ride or a sunrise like that. Yup, I had the best ride and saw the best sunrise ever. . . . . . . . . . . . Sure sucks being on the best ride and seeing the prettiest sunrise in the whole U.S. of A. when all of my friends are sleeping late and eating breakfast after having had too much fun the night before in Canada.

Got home about 5:30 Sunday. Kept checking my oil every 100 miles or so. Got back without having to add any more than the 1/2 qt I put in Sat nite. The garage floor is a mess as the rocker box puked pretty good while the bike cooled down. Wish I coulda made it all the way with the Border Raid. Next year. Will drop the bike off at Destination for warrenty rocker box gasket replacement tomorrow. I thought the 2001 models had the new metal gasket already? Oh yeah, was playing a little tag with a Yamaha on I-5 on the way back. Got into a little traffic so I backed off. He passed a bunch of cars by taking the right hand lane but came up on a camper and hopped left into a space only big enuf for his bike. When he got past the camper, there was a Washington Highway Patrol that jumped his butt and pulled him over as I sailed on by. Just lucky? Times like that I feel like my guardian angel whispered in my ear just in time. |

We made it home safe, early (noon Sun) and no rain. Can I just say that you all ROCK! I thought SPLASH was out of sight well this was down right awesome. We rode 800+ miles (GreenEric could tell you to be exact) and I could get on right now and go some more - after I sleep all night, of course! Canada is SO beautiful and the sweeping rodes were fast and fun, especially on a speed triple (yeah Matt, can you believe your brother let me ride his bike?). I enjoyed seeing everyone again and meeting some new faces. I missed big brother Matt though. Mike sure missed him too! I got to hear about all the places that they go to when they are there, like the Irish Pub (we even walked thru just for you Matt - and then took a moment of silence in your absence). I already miss everyone - you all are so nice I really had a good time getting to know some of you better. Bob & Debbie - thanks for the hospitality Friday night and for leading us safely to Canada. GreenEric - Thanks to you and your sister for the hospitality on Sunday and for hangin' with Mike and I and being so easy going. I'll be posting the pictures I took as soon as I get them back, I will try to e-mail some of them directly to you guys in addition to posting them. Happy to be with my Babies- Kimberlie |

What a great ride! We had a Blast as usual. Would have been nice to follow the group up to Merritt and beyond, but hey it was good weather and no cops so we can't complain. Glad those that went down didn't get hurt. How's the bumps Galen? Hope those that took the long way didn't hit any rain on Sunday. Hey Kim, you got home Sunday at noon?!?! How is that possible? LOL. Probably Monday, right? I was thinking about you & Mike when I saw rain on Monday morning. Bet you're glad you kept going instead of staying here in BC. Chris & Loni, I called the hotel on Sunday night but you must have been busy... chuckle. Anyhow, it worked out for the best. After our long day's ride, Don got a call Sunday evening and had to go rescue some friends that rolled their dune buggy off the road. Had to go up to Squamish (yeah... part way back to Whistler!) to help. He got back home about 3:30am. Can you say T-I-R-E-D ? Take care everyone. Ride on... Lo & Don |

My little sis was on the trip. Also had the pleasure of riding road rashes bike. It made me remember why buell was such a great machine. We need to plan a all ladies ride for next year. Debbie- I sure enjoyed your sister Theresa (Chuck too), I hope I see her on the next ride it was nice to not be the only newby on the ride (we talked the same language). It was awesome to see her excitement when we stopped down by the lake, she was doing the "I am one with my bike, I am one with my bike" dance! I hope Mike finds something else to ride, because I am ready for the Trumphet. Can you say smooth, effortless and a whole lot of fun! Bob- do you think he planned that? By the way didn't you say that I would like good on one of those? Galen and Mike hope you are feeling good and that the damage is not to steep to your bikes. Missing all you's guys, (By the way is there a support group for this feeling? My friends here just don't understand! F- them! I just wanna ride!) Kimberlie |

Great seeing Roadrash, Lyle and Ray down at the Swiss tonight. Those are some beautiful Triumphs the Maines boys have. Roadrash's flames are just kick ass -- ya'll have to see 'em. Dreullofseattle, Anytime ya'll are in the neighborhood ot the volcano, just give us a hollar (Dan and Carol, 253-445-0525). Always looking for an excuse to go ride Have fun! Oh - here is a link to some of the motorcycle patients I had up in Harborview -- Just click here, a bit graphic Been spreading these around the internet in hopes of influencing people to wear their gear |

Yuck! Glad I didn't see that before Border Raid. Those damn Limey bikes would've got even further ahead. Actually I think there were a couple of Buells ahead of me too. What a hoot of a ride! But you wimps missed the best part! I'd forgotten how good the Barnardville Road (Kamloops to Falkland, the back way)is. And the Westside Road (acroos the lake from Kelowna was like sking mogols! One point I was laughing so hard I almost forgot to turn. Told the boys that when we stopped and Shawn admitted to laughing out loud on the same stretch. Bit of a butt buster but we didn't stop there. Went to the go-kart track and laid down a half dozen hot laps Sunday night. That must be why I'm still so sore. Rode home in rain from Princeton, but we got the Green Mountain Road in sun, and the Old Hedley Road. None of our gang but me had ever done either, so I was pleased to be able to point out the way. Not yet capable of leading though. What a great romp. And so good to party with you guys (and gals) in Whistler. Seeing the familiar faces smiling, and meeting the new ones. Can't wait 'til the next time. |
