The 9/12 day looks great to me. I bailed on the OHR event due to their schedule change. If it's not too late, I'd love to attend. |

Dago, I made plans to go to Corpus Christi from 09/16 – 09/22. So I want be able to get away Monday the 12th. I’m definitely planning on October 10th. Sorry about the schedule change, I didn’t want to interfere with OHR. When’s the baby due? I can’t imagine it’s too late to attend, I’ve always registered the week before. Here’s the number 817-790-0200, talk to Tara. http://www.advancedmotorsports.com/trackdays/trackdays.aspx |

So who's all going to OHR this weekend? I'm planning on checking it out on Saturday afternoon, but I can't stay for Sunday. Hopefully I'll see some of ya'll there. I should be easy to find, I'll be on the Buell unless the g/f decides we have to take the Jeep. |

I just got yelled at by Dago at the XBBoard for not responding here, but I have before. Sorry guys. Just got back from a week long trip to Big Bend. I put about a thousand miles on my XB9. I would recommend this trip. You could even do it in a weekend if you wanted. It took us 9 hrs to trailer the bikes there from DFW and we had 3 full days of riding. And it was beautiful there!!! Out of all my TX rides, this is hands down the best. I will try to post some pics. |

Jared, I'm going to OHR. I'd like to leave early on Saturday, and be back by early evening. Are your plans more firmed up yet? Anyone else wanna go to the races? |

I'll be there sometime Saturday, probably sometime right after lunch. I'll watch the end of the endurance race, the practice, and the benefit race at 5:15. I'll be in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I'll have my Buell Streetfighter shirt on so you can find me. |

Welcome, Hag! Stay in touch on this board for upcoming events and, hopefully, an organized ride or two this fall. We also have our "2nd annual" ride and dinner with Erik Buell coming up in January. What is it you do that moved you to the area? |

Welcome, Hag! Rpmchris and I were able to meet up at the CMRA race event this weekend for a day. There will definitely be some events and rides this fall or winter, just keep your eye on this board. Hopefully we can get some more events going on, but it's college football season so I'll be in Lubbock most weekends till mid November. |

I came down for work. I work for fastenal setting up sales events in TX, OK, KS, NE, CO, and NM. During the summer i do this job and during the winter i'll be helping with the setup of our store fronts. I've been lucky enough to keep my bike with me and have been out riding with the altitude riders (brag group in CO springs). Great times up here, but i'd really like to know some good spots around TX. |

I'm pretty sure everyone here knows this, but just in case... 79R517 JRJ-D By: Griggs H.B. No. 1522 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to the operation and movement of motorcycles during periods of traffic congestion. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 545.060, Transportation Code, is amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: (a) An operator on a roadway divided into two or more clearly marked lanes for traffic: (1) shall drive as nearly as practical entirely within a single lane, except as provided by Subsection (e); and (2) may not move from the lane unless that movement can be made safely. (e) The operator of a motorcycle may operate the motorcycle for a safe distance between lanes of traffic moving in the same direction during periods of traffic congestion if the operator: (1) is at least 21 years old; (2) has successfully completed a motorcycle operator training and safety course under Chapter 662; (3) is covered by a health insurance plan providing the operator with at least $10,000 in medical benefits for injuries incurred as a result of an accident while operating a motorcycle; and (4) operates the motorcycle: (A) at a speed not more than five miles per hour over the speed of the other traffic; (B) in traffic that is moving at a speed of 20 miles per hour or less; and (C) in a location other than a school crossing zone or other than a location where the posted speed limit is 20 miles per hour or less. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005. |

From what I understand this law was only proposed. It was never voted on and therefore never passed. Even if it was passed, there's no way I would do it around here without a major PR movement by the AMA and/or local news agencies to promote the idea to the road-raged cagers. I'd personally rather choke on exhaust while getting a heat stroke on 635 before I attempt to split the difference of 2 lanes between a soccer mom who's lacking attention at home and a red neck who's pissed at the world on account he can't afford to buy the newest 10 MPG butt crack hauler. |

I found some KILLER roads north of the Metroplex Saturday! They would be excellent candidates for the Buell Convention Trip in January. I think a few of us should go scout them out together in the very near future. |

Yeah, Dago. There are a bunch NE of Dallas. Last time I went for a weekend trip I did over 200 miles from Dallas to Bonham to Cooper Lake to Dallas. The whole thing wasn't twisties, but there were a lot of really good spots. |

I also knew about this bill, but have never been able to figure out if it was passed or not. This is the second place I've heard that it was not passed, but both are just hearsay, never really saw anything official. It would be nice if we could find out 100%. Anybody know where to look? |

The next Ducati Track Day is October 10th, Columbus Day at The Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX. $150.00 includes lunch, drinks and water. Very relaxed, friendly with small groups. Last May there were 14 beginners, 18 intermediate 9 advanced riders. They have Ducatis, Aprillas, Triumphs and even BMWs show up. IMO they are not for race preparation, but you can get a lot of personal attention if you want it. Who’s in? Let’s make a big Buell showing. http://www.advancedmotorsports.com/trackdays/trackdays.aspx http://www.motorsportranch.com/ |

Hag, this is on the AMS website: http://www.advancedmotorsports.com/trackdays/schedule.pdf Call Jeff Nash, owner of AMS, if you have any questions. He's very willing to work with riders. He may have some gear to rent. I use a 2 piece, unmatched leathers. I have seen riders wearing textile. |

Hag, check out this Texas company. I bought my leathers from them. Look at the Closeouts section under Street Riding Gear. http://www.newenough.com/ |

Hey guys. I've been without internet for about a month now because I have moved. Along with the move I've made a few changes. The biggest and best change is that I doubled the fun with a new xb9sx. That makes my new domicile in Bedford officially a two-Buell household. In any case, I'm back, I'm faster, and I've just about got the new bike broke in so I need to finally make it to one of these rides. See you on the road! p.s. Coppell isn't that far from me; howdy, Hag! |
