Thanks Ray, As you can see, all my posts are late at night. I just don't have a social life with this damm schedule. Can't wait to see the Hooligans at Border Raid. (Also can't wait to get stinken drunk at Whistler in celebration of my 46th!) Working a 17 hour day tomorrow, good night. |

I also have a spare room available for Friday. Had a great ride yesterday to Lytton and back. There's a lot of frost heaves at bad locations on the Duffy. Those whose suspensions are lacking (me)will have to be careful. Found a road-side sign advertising motorcycle repairs just outside of Lillouette( Neal: 250-256-4601). Thought that was handy to know when riding in the boonies up there alone. I discovered the night before that my VOES wire was broken (in two places) and, I suppose, had been for a while. Turns out the engine is healthier than I had thought. Still screams along quite nicely. But I still can't get rid of suspension instability. Gotta look at swingarm bushings next. Running out of time. Should be good enough to keep the Triumphs at bay, anyway. |

Davet. Congratulations. Have fun. Get in touch when you return. Mginbend. Good that you'll come along for the distance. Can you get a foursome together for hotels? I think I'm showing Shooter and Greeneric as being currently unhoused. What about Bob and Deb? Are you coming around to Kelowna? Did we snooker you on Osoyoos reservations It is, of course, possible that no rooms are available. Some may be fit on the floors? I could come up with alternate housing for myself in Kelowna if things get really tight, but I would prefer to stay with the group. Another thing. I just noticed the Quickboard section has someone asking about the occurrence of oil-pump pinion gear failure. Do I recall correctly that someone at SPLASH had that happen? I wish I had the energy to go riding instead of surfing here all day. I thought turning back from Lytton shortened my ride but, looking at my mileage postings earlier, it seems I went the same 475 miles that I would have if I'd gone around through Merritt and Princeton. And hardly any beer breaks. No wonder I'm so bagged. |

Were back. We were on vacation in eastern wa and all is well. plenty of sunshine and some fishing. We had 5 rooms reserved for Osyoos but I'm going to cancel them this morning. I am not sure how much of the route we are going to finnish as we want to ride with the Woods. For now it is open and will call Mike to see what there plans are as of now. Debbie is leaving for Canada on Wednesday to stay with Don and Loraine. I am leaving on Saturday morning and Paul, Ya, come on over. Eric, Mike and Kim, looking forward to seeing you guy's. There isn't any BIG holidays in Canada this weekend is there?. If not, it should be no problem getting sleeps where ever we go. (I HOPE) In The Rain Forest, Bob |

Just got back from some camping at Wallowa Lake. Nope, didn't take the ST, had too much stuff. But the drive back was awesome nonetheless...Baker City to John Day via the scenic byway, then to Kimberly, Spray, and Fossil. From Fossil to Antelope and Shaniko, then over to Biggs. It was a fun drive with the SUV and I can't wait to do it on two wheels, especially the section from Shaniko to Fossil. While gassing up in Fossil a trio of bikes was getting go-juice as well, a Ducati, an FZR, and a Yamaha of some kind. As I'm pulling out, I can hear one of the guys yelling to the other, "Dude, you are so going to love this next part." People still use the word 'dude'???? Whatever. Lots of Goldwings on the road and there was a group in the campground as well. Anyway, it's a beautiful stretch of highway and the scenery is so amazing, especially through the John Day Fossil Beds Monument. I'll see if I can't get a picture up. Oh, and if any of you ever get out that way, be sure to take the time to drive up to Hat Point lookout. You wouldn't want to drive it on a bike as it's a 24 mi, 16% grade gravel USFS road from Imnaha, but you end up on the rim of Hell's Canyon. Awesome views!! Saw bighorn sheep, too. Well, just had to share. Ciao! |

Captlusk You've still got a few years yet. When you're starin' 50 BIG ONES in the face and needing reading glasses then you know you're gettin' old. Still feelin' like 18 though. Bob\clipart |

Don't remind me, I turn 49 on Friday...but my teenage kids and sportbike keep me feeling more like 29! Decided I will ride this weekend with our local Victoria Motorcycle Club. Taking 16yo daughter. A two day road rally on a similar route to Border Raid but in reverse, overnighting in Penticton Sunday. So if you see a scattered group led by Ken on his new blue Firebolt and me on a black FZ1 with a Buell helmet.....don't forget to wave! Mike Victoria |

I'm already into the reading glasses thing...My locker at work is in a narrow hallway, and I find I can't back up far enough to read the numbers on the combo lock. Pretty sad eh?... Well I got the word today, after Border Raid I have three more days of work, then LAY OFF! Didn't this happen last year about this time? Man, I'm hoping I'm a cheap drunk at Whistler. I've found through a series of scientific experiments (parking behind the Art Institute in Seattle) that birds seem to love shitting on black Triumphs. Wierd huh? That never happened on the Buell. Counting down the days to Border Raid! |
