Yep Il. 71 is closed. Indefinately to repair some retaining walls. I'll post when its open. If you guys wanna do a ride I have a good river roads ride, glad to lead if ya want, it's my backyard ya know! Plus lots of country blacktops. but wait til the crops are down, the deer like to hang out in there and cross the road un-announced sometimes.......let me know I'm always on Badweb!

all -- sorry to have missed the meeting -- I'm sure the dancing girls were gorgeous, and that the beer flowed like wine . . . . .

just got back from our round the lake boogy -- had a great time, and will be glad to share tips, routes, and like that with any who may be interested . . .

lastly, I find myself, once again, a gentleman of leisure -- my employer seems to think they can continue business without my precense, so, if anyone knows of a teh writing or training gig that needs filling, let me know, please ;-}

Ok know one post for speedy race on Sept 10. I hate riding by myself.Anyone interested in meeting at Illionis Harley at about 8:00 am head there? There racing going at speedway that weekend so I thought get head start try to beat traffic.

Speedy will be racing at AutoBahn (Joliet) this weekend. As discussed in last chapter meeting, we'll be there around 10am (ish) to help in the pits, watch races starting at noon and see Speedy bring home the cash! I also will lead a ride from my house around 8:00am towards Starved Rock with the intention of arriving back at racetrack mid-morning. We'll hit some entertaining roads.

I'm interested in riding out next Saturday (24 Sept 2005) to Ottawa, although I won't be able to commit until later next week based on family stuff. If others want to join, post here and we can figure out some possible meeting places along the way. If you want, we can take my back road route to Starved Rock.

It was nice riding out with you John and Max to see Speedy race this weekend. Erlin showed up at the racetrack Saturday, good to see him again. If you went to the racetrack Sunday, how did it turn out?

Paul, John and anyone else interested in riding this Saturday.......

I'm game to ride to Ottawa, although probably not if it will be raining most of the time. We'll just have to keep an eye on the forecast and post opinions closer to Friday night. I like Paul's proposed schedule, leaving in the morning and returning early afternoon. We could meet at that gas station on Lemont Road slightly south of the I-55 exit. People coming from other directions can meet us at Ottawa HD open house and we can hit Starved Rock and/or ride back together....or whatever.

I wouldn't mind taking my more twisted route along the backroads if that's of interest to others.

If anyone else wants to meet somewhere along the way, post here so we can work something out.
